The way panel shows work in the UK is that there is a host, 2 team captains and then the other people switch out on their teams. So some shows have 1 host, 2 team captains and then 4 guests (2 guests per team) and others have 2 guests (1 guest per team). I'm so glad you love it!

In the UK panel shows like this are pretty common, they've become a route for comedians to gain an audience, a bit like late night in the US. As others are saying. The king of this show is probably Bob Mortimer who has been a big name in the UK since his original pannel show shooting stars (definitely worth watching but you might need to watch a whole episode because any clips will make absolutely no sense! Also James acaster, Greg Davies and Henning wein are great on this show! David (the detective) and Lee are team captains with Rob as the host, everyone else changes every episode. 'Theft and Shrubbery' is a great Bob Mortimer clip from the show. There's something brilliant about the way the guy tells his stories - he always adds in these stupid nonsensical details to throw off the other team. If I had to compare him to a US comic it would probably be Norm Macdonald - always reeling off these ridiculous long winded anecdotes - though I think that Mortimer is a lot more genuine and much funnier. Naturally funnier than pretty much any other comedian out there, imo

What's funny about this story is that Kevin spent like 20 minutes trying to explain the story to his co-contestants, but it had to be cut up due to the show's running time. That's why at 6:14 you can see how everyone seems hilariously fed up with him - this went on for a LOT longer than was shown officially haha
The two captains are lee and david Mitchell and they are always on every show except one instance lee was absent and greg Davies filled in as team captain and the host rob brydon came in from series 3 onward taking over from angus deayton who hosted the first two series.

the most important thing to remember is that the points don't matter: guessing correctly whether a panellist is telling a lie or speaking the truth is neither hear nor there. The reason that guest team members are almost exclusively comedians (as are the regulars: Rob Brydon, Lee Mack and David Mitchell) is the purpose is to make us all laugh was much as possible.
Winning or losing are unimportant: having a good time is everything.

David Mitchell is a comedic actor and writer, he co wrote and starred in sitcom Peep show, which is worth checking out, also, Rob Bryden is in show with Steve Coogan called The Trip, it's quite brilliant and original.

What's funny about this story is that Kevin spent like 20 minutes trying to explain the story to his co-contestants, but it had to be cut up due to the show's running time. That's why at 6:14 you can see how everyone seems hilariously fed up with him - this went on for a LOT longer than was shown officially haha

This is one of the funniest stories I’ve ever seen on there.
The two captains are lee and david Mitchell and they are always on every show except one instance lee was absent and greg Davies filled in as team captain and the host rob brydon came in from series 3 onward taking over from angus deayton who hosted the first two series.
