My problem is if it’s cut up, I’m much more likely to use it where if I have to cut it up every time I want to use/eat some, I end up not bothering and then it ends up in the bin. I bought a full broccoli for 4 food shops and each time it got thrown away, now I’ve stuck with frozen pre-cut broccoli that I can grab a couple of bits when I need it for a meal x
Precut food is very helpful for people like me who have chronic pain or other long term exhausting health conditions. It's better to buy precut fruit & veg than to be living on take away or heat+eat highly processed food!
Absolutely, this is what I mean when I say at the end about how my list of stuff I don't buy will look different to someone else's. I may spend my money on something someone else would deem pointless. It's just about prioritising what matters and makes a difference to you!
Exactly, calling it lazy food as it was called in the vlog is a terrible description. I have severe depression and food that is precut is often all I have the energy to eat and the lazy tag makes others like me feel bad 🤬
The Libby app is the best! Our local library has a massive magazine offering. Viewing magazines on an iPad is great because you can take screenshots. Arizona did a library consortium throughout the state during the pandemic. We now have access to 10 additional libraries.
Don’t buy printer ink just because it says it’s low. Ours has been low for many months, since some time last year, and it’s still got enough ink to print. Wait til it’s literally fading!
I've only ever bought kitchen roll for friends if they've specifically asked me to pick some upfrom the shop, but never for myself. I like reusing gift bags and boxes. If I get something delivered i a box, I reuse the box to send something off when I have things to post. I also don't bother wrapping gifts because the paper is only going to get thrown away, but Ido have bags etc from things others give me to reuse if necessary. Also I find just having reuseable shopping bags can save both the wallet and the environment. Have you tried making a carrier bag holder? Then you can put those cheap carrier bags you get from shops in there and pull one out when you need it. My great nan used to make those and give them to people.
Great tips and suggestions. I stopped using fabric softeners almost 20 years ago and never had an issue with crunchy clothes, towels, etc. I just use a fragrance free detergent and never have issues. When I stopped using them, my clothes and linens last so much longer. I also never buy scented laundry boosters as the chemicals used to make the scents make me nauseous.
If you must have laundry beads, put them in a hosiery and place them in your drawers. They work, last long time, and lavender keeps moths and buggies away.
I know people think waitrose is expensive but for a couple im a fan on buying the 3 for 12 on meat and fish (x 2 to make 6 meals) = £24. Some do 2 meals. Not meal prep but doesn't cost the earth Lol i also tried cutting my hair during covid and it was fine then i did it recently and messed it up. Had to then pay a hairsresser to fix it haha
Hi! Enjoyed your first video( to me it is) lol! The only thing I do buy from your group of items is Kleenex ( which I always have on hand every day) I only buy on Sale! And a yearly planner( I buy in July. You see...I still love writing ✍) Thank you Vicky...Looker forward to future videos! Cathy in Nova Scotia ( Canada!
I use google calendar for important notes. I still have an iPhone 11. I only buy clothes when I need it. I buy a few recycle paper towels. I use bounty for our dog spills. I cut up my own fruit. I don’t have more than 2 subscription services either. I menu plan & try not to eat out. We do this only twice per month. I go to Costco once a month. I buy some produce bi-weekly. I try to avoid grocery shopping too often.During the pandemic I learned how to cut my own hair & do my own tint. I get my hair done at the hairdresser twice per year. I never do my nails. I keep them clean & short. I don’t feel like wasting money every 3 weeks. I only use dryer sheets. I never use liquid fabric softener or scent boosters. I use vinegar. I haven’t bought magazines in years. I use filtered water from home. I try not to buy drinks on the road.
If your skin products don’t contain retinol, you may as well put margarine on your face ( don’t do this please😂) I use retinol squalane with my face cream daily and it lasts for absolutely ages, so it’s very cost effective. You can also make a lovely homemade skin exfoliater using a little coconut oil and used coffee grounds, massage gently and rinse with warm water. Avoid eye area!
I have been getting my hair cut by trainee hairdressers in Salons for many years at less then half the price, I enjoy the Salon experience.. I trim my own fringe in between cuts if I can’t get an appointment to fit my busy schedule
Clothes: One good quality coat for life (Harris Tweed in my case), a tailored suit, some tailored shirts, everything else is Uniqlo. Smartphone: Upgrade only every 5 years now Car washes: Every other month only. Seasonal: Don't spend on any of it, not even Christmas cards - instead I'll email them or instant message. Gifts: I don't buy gifts for adults at all. For young kids, I give them £20-30. Magazines: Don't buy any. Everything is available for free online. Fabric softener: I get the liquid version and add a quarter of what they recommend. I buy it once a year and make it last.
Thanks I practice alot of your tips already. Good to know I'm on the right track. I've got a 2 year plan to overpay my debt as well so in much better place when need to remortgage in 2026 as no idea what rates will be by then
As for laundry, adding an egg cup full of white vinegar to your wash really does work as a conditioner, clothes are softer and it also helps clean the machine... and no, the clothes will not smell of vinegar
I realise people need to look after money, but I don't understand people who send dirty/stained secondhand items for Christmas/birthdays, especially when they have plenty of money! It just feels horrible being the recipient of such 'gifts' that either end up in the bin or in the jumble sale! I also feel it's a bit mean to no longer send Christmas or birthday cards just to save a few pounds. I feel there is a very thin line between being frugal & plain mean & stingy.
I prefer slightly rough towels - I don’t like fluffy towels at all. I do use fabric conditioner though, but don’t put it in for towels. Those scent balls are a gimmick and sooooooo bad for the environment. I don’t follow Mrs Hinch, but I’ve seen the odd video and she’s lovely and shared great tips. But I suspect she is paid by the big companies to promote those products. Thanks for your content.
For sure, she’s got some amazing tips for cleaning and she presents it in a really fun way! The towel thing is funny isn’t it, I think I’ve just got used to rough towels!
In my entire family aunts uncles etc we will either give money or what's needed from infants till 10 years old. The rest of us are old enough to not need something. If a person is insistent I ask them to do a pet donation or to a person that really needs it. 🎉
My rule of thumb for clothing is that I look at it as though its $1 per wear and will I get my monies worth. For instance for a $180 cocktail dress I would need to wear it 180 times for it to be valuable to me My Lululemon leggings that are $120 I will definitely wear more than 120 times (probably 6 times over) so that to me is a solid purchase!
Where do some men find these women??? It's refreshing to hear women putting their money on more important things and stretching it out. Coming from humble beginnings, we know the value of money.
Squash the toilet roll before putting it on the holder, it turns slower and you will use less at a time. Also, think about getting a bidet attachment on your toilet and you will save hundreds of pounds a year in paper. It’s also more hygienic.
Also, if you buy in bulk online you can save money per roll. Just make sure it’s at least two or 3 ply and check how many sheets per roll, as sometimes it looks like a bargain, but the sheets per roll are less. Also add on the delivery charge. If you buy over a certain amount some online stores deliver for free.
Dry clean clothes wash fine on a cold wash - never had an issue!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and buy pre cut, allowing to cook from scratch. I will never cut an onion again. 😂

@ThePerfectHaven people who call it lazy food have no idea what it's like living with a chronic health condition. Happy new year to u 💛

Awesoma video and totally agree with the tech upgrades.
Thanks so much
I stopped buying kitchen roll many years ago and use washable bamboo cloths instead…..better absorbency and thrown them in the washing machine.

Cheap kitchen roll. Just shred some towels and hem them and along them in the wash. I ve used them for years.

A crunchy towel is a great body exfoliation.

Find out if there's an agricultural co-op near you. They sometimes have good stuff dirt cheap.
Thank you!! I’ve decluttered a lot but I have a small walk in closet with Xmas decor, I’m obsessed lol

Good idea. I do the same and sometimes the cut is free.
good tips, thanks
Fast wash with tap water extra spin and less detergent . Tea towels and paper napkins.

Sanitary towels are 45p at Tesco and they work well. Rather stick with those than moon cups and period pants 😮
Moon cups not good for people with prolapses that needs to be mentioned.
That's good to know about the Tesco towels 👍🏾
@@coraclouden2506 I’ve never had any issue with them. I buy the long ones x

Agreee on all and im just like you apart from disposable sanitary towels😅
The reusables aren't for everyone that's for sure!
Where do you get the washable face wipes? Do you have a link? Thanks!
Thanks I’m
Thanks 😮😊Interesting

Do you add it with the detergent? Or the fabric softener drawer? X
@@jeanettemahon3131 add with the detergent... the drawer where powder goes if you are washing with a tablet/ capsule

Which heated dryer did you buy pls? I’m currently looking at them in prep for winter I’ve never had a tumble dryer and I’m 58.
I use one from Lakeland - their midrange heated airer.
@@TheMummyBubble Thank you much appreciated.
Crunchy towels, in my area, means I am using too much laundry detergent.

Better for the planet and saving money too 👍

Why buy kitchen roll at all? Kitchen roll is so eighties anyway. A couple of decent cleaning cloths last decades.
People can't save thousands😮🤔😒
