You don’t need cobblestone for furnaces you can use cobbled deepslate instead or you can use blackstone

SB, I am pretty sure you can actually craft furnaces with deep slate, so you don’t need cobblestone to make them. You can also make them using black stone.

Hey Sb you can use cobbled deepslate to make furnace. Its basically just stone. You can also use blackstone if you're in the nether.
ALso, u can use ghast's fireball to light up your nether portal.
