Nice going Mark, a quick session, and simplicity itself with the set up / tackle required. I'm now on the look out for one of those Shimano rods at a decent price... I've not used (or seen) the lift method with the shot set up as you showed, but it makes perfect sense! Thanks for the upload, and for improving our (well, mine at least!) angling by sharing your techniques and methodology.

Cheers Jason yeh i find it is more adjustable with the shotting like that and easier to break off from there with a rotten bottom as such for the weight.

I can’t stand being alone in the pinch black darkness all through the night .
Gorgeous tench . Thank you very much .
By the way , the pronunciation of Shimano in English is
    Shi maaa nooo .
    But in Japanese is
    Shima no .
In musical scales are like this .
    MiRe Do .
    Shima no .
Accent is on only * Shi * .

Yes, absolutely I have landed river carp to 20 on them, barbel to 13, chub to 7lb, tench to well over 9lb ( those tench coming up in the newer videos) they are blooming brilliant rods. Only thing is maxiumum casting weight is around an ounce and half max unless lowering a bait into a swim. Trust me i have used and owned them for around 15 years perhaps longer!

Why do so many experienced anglers only put their landing nets in the water when the fish is close? In my limited experience I have fewer fish fight to avoid the net when it is already sunk and they are brought to it. In my youth is was seen as a bad luck thing to put the net in until the fish was ready.

Had quite a few tincas lately, my favourite being a little baby one about 4-5oz that fought me to the end & dragged me through a lily bed, I said to my mate, something decent on here🤣 I had to admire his fight. Like your set up, just started using "the lift", great results, especially for crucians. Just hit subscribe as you seem to know what to say & when to say it. Great job. 🐟🪱🎣👍
