‘Where’s the outrage?’: Government response to China’s flare stunt criticised

- Sky News host Paul Murray has criticised the Albanese government’s response to a Chinese warplane blasting flares at an Australian helicopter.
At about 7:30pm on Saturday, a J-10 Chinese Air Force plane belonging to the People’s Liberation Army dropped flares about 300 metres in front of the Seahawk helicopter and about 60 metres above it.
Defence Minister Richard Marles confirmed the helicopter was unaffected and the crew were safe but condemned the incident as “unsafe” and “unprofessional”.
“Where is the outrage? Where is the indignation that China yet again does something to endanger the lives of the members of the Australian Defence Force?” Mr Murray said.
“This situation was one where only the skill of the Australian pilot is the reason why we are talking about the near-miss as opposed to catastrophe.”

So, what would the Australian defence force do if a Chinese military helicopter was spotted flying through the Torres Straits? The use of flares rather than air defence missiles is a relatively constrained response to such a distant military provocation.

I feel very worried when I cannot believe a single word coming out of the mouth of our Prime Minister and his Noddies standing around him. This "Game Playing" by foreign forces was going on when I was in the Australian Navy from 1964 to 1984. I served on ships where our Captain pushed the boundaries as well. Whether you like it or not, that Australian warship patrolling in that area and its helicopter were pushing the boundaries. They were duly warned that they were being observed.

Was the Chinese jet near Melbourne and Sydney? I live in Melbourne, and I am scared.
Of course the Chinese in both incidents blame the ADF claiming Toowoomba and the helo were in or close to Chinese waters even though both were in International waters. Albanese and his cohorts we are now advised have NOT raised either incident beyond uniform to uniform. If true, he is caught out as liar and his two ministers as gutless. Not that the Chinese could care.
These incidents will continue, and Albanese is going to have Navy or RAAF personnel brought home in bodybags.
