Old guy story here about how hard wrestling is...
Age 11, 3rd tae Kwon do class and for 3000 years prior, my ancestors kicked eachother in the face for sport and some random guy broke his leg...
6 years later, I broke mine on the wrestling mat, in a sloppy heavyweight scramble on the feet into the floor...
Living as an emaciated teen in a tweeker pad I hated, the doctor said I had almost no vitamins in my body at all...
20 years later, I'm such a monster in beast mode, doctor said at age 19 I would never get osteoporosis for 100 years, I got that strong and more for years- then covid happened. ...
No training for almost 2 years from Achilles snap and then covid shut downs of gyms...
I Went back to wrestle 2 weeks ago...
I almost broke my neck from shooting head first into a chest that snapped my neck sideways all loud...
I NEVER REALIZED HOW HARD WRESTLING IS !
Imagine training your ass off your whole life in wrestling and then watching the sport get discredited to the masses by Jake Paul lmaoooo
All my wrestlers pls stand up 💪🏾
Most wrestlers don't have punching endurance and speed. For everyone like that, MMA is way harder. Tyrone is just naturally talented with punching power; so for him wrestling is harder. MMA is much harder.
different strokes bro... I was a wrestler and I get the constant pressure and cardio but dude you're not taking punches it takes so much to get in there every day and spar then be in fighting condition
Lol wrestling at the world level is different
@@Thefatcat125 so is fighting at world level
@@marcoramirez313 twood was a world champ in fighting and knows what its like that's why he's comparing the two but he was never world class at wrestling not even close
Its not as sensational as it appears if you've been in the wrestling system. The grind and level of conditioning was extreme I dont miss high-school wrestling but im glad I did it. I wouldn't call MMA a joke but im also just an amateur MMA practitioner who never competed at any professional level.
Wrestlers got it
Dude come on every sports is tough, it's like Gymnasts saying wrestling ain't shit compared to Gymnastics, beside woodley didn't even had that great of a cardio so what is he talking about fighting with cardio, tell me how many champions came out of wrestling each other and In mma each other
Y’all bogus for that quote and thumbnail😂
Very intelligent interview. Great athlete !
Wrestling Tournament: 5 fights in one day
Basketball Tournament: Maybe 2 game a week
Respect the honesty🤣
I train Muay Thai and no Gi as a hobby and have never wrestled in high school or college. In college though I lived with wrestlers and I can see woodley is dead right on this
T-Wood it’s time to head to PFL or One Championship
Saying that after being battered the last 5 fights and and out wrestled by 2 former wrestlers
Not the best timing to upload this bro
Why?
Come back tomorrow bro
They know what they doing lol
Yea this upload hurt his image a lil. Like it isn't already damaged enough by his own self.
“When is the offseason” damn you think he found out?
Not gonna lie to you, I used to really like Tyron. Before he became champ. Ever since he became champ, this guy has just been saying nonsense every time a cameras in his face. Idk why and I wish it would stop.
Everything he said here was tru
LoL @ 1:49 when the white guy starts talking and they don't even regard him
Only wrestler understand this only it’s a different grind than other sports
MMA deals with the same thing. Thinking of 5 things at the same time
It’s not rlly bout the matches it’s self. It’s the frequent weight cuts, the weekly tournaments with people you may have already lost too 7 times, the injuries, the stress.
if you think American wrestling is hard , do Russian wrestling . that shit is pressuring till one of them die from desperation .
In school the wrestlers were definitely one of the toughest groups hands down from high school to college. They were still soft in middle school (probably lack of experience)
Much respect to T-Wood!
Wrestling and boxing are not fighting. They are specific styles. Bruce Lee said it best styles are limitations. One cannot truly express oneself if you are thinking about fighting from a wrestling or boxing perspective.
Boxing is not fighting? Lol. Then what is it?
Bruce lee never stepped in the cage or ring though. He was an actor
@@blacklion2432 Being something (an actor) doesn't disqualify you from knowing the truth.
@@pmontyjaaaymes488 Exhibition. Specifically the exhibition of who has the best hands, which is one aspect of fighting. Boxing is not true fighting, only one aspect, one style of fighting that benefits people with terrible low guard. All low guard aspects of fighting do not exist in boxing, therefore it is not fighting only exhibition of hands vs. hands. I look at boxing the same way I look at slapping tournaments, only slightly more hardcore but not like I look at MMA for example which is closer to real fighting than anything like boxing or wrestling.
Yeah yeah wrestlers are so tough until they realize they can't take you down
Right.....
But like how are you going to stop us
@@ryanramsey9149 sprawling... Under hooks. step back uppercut.. maybe if you take my down triangle choke from the bottom. Knees. Many options.personally I'd go with under hook and sprawl
But like that's wrestling buddy
@@ryanramsey9149 yeah I'm more of a fight fire with fire kind of guy. Only anti wrestling. Force anyone to stand with me haha
The dude on the left was so unhappy that T. Wood cut him off
Out of all combat sports Wrestling is the most physically demanding and grueling sport, and it's not even close.
I love to invite Cauliflower ears outside 🤝
Wrestling is overrated by now. It’s hard mentally and physically, but no one dies in wrestling like they do in boxing or mma.
You've never wrestled a day in your life Zuck
Wow your just dead wrong
Having done both wrestling mma can't say i agree buy wrestling is very hard idk about worse then mma thou
Ben askren has a smile on his face right about now
He does, but it's not from winning. It's from making all that moolah! WHOOOO!
I noticed, wrestlers say stuff like this to overcompensate for how little respect thier sport gets. Anyone with a working brain can tell mma is way tougher. Even the examples tyrone gave were kind of weak here. 7 minutes of holding wrists or 25 minutes of fighting for your life. I think i know which one i would prefer.
Working brain lol. I’ll listen to the actual mma fighter who’s done both.
@@freddycalipari4242 im an mma fighters whos done both too. You keep listing to us talk tho.
@@AfghanTornado Yeah, no one believes you.
Have you ever wrestled? Ain’t no standing around, it will completely drain you. You’re thinking only about the hitting. Let me wrestle you for 5 minutes and your body and heart rate will remove any doubt
@@jprice3064 lmao mma fighters wrestle. We arent talking about a sport like boxing/kickboxing. Mma fighters wrestle for longer periods and for more rounds than wrestlers. Ive seen plenty of matches where 2 guys sit on tie up and stall. On top of going flat on their stomachs to stall. Etc
Man you see his 👂 ooo aihht you got it lol
A well timed knee to the forehead or a hook to the temple will help wrestlers get that rest...
Didn't happen to khabib
I love how boxers always try to challenge MMA fighters to boxing.
Why don't yall come to our world 🤷♂️💪🦵
Is that the cobra kai guy? 😯
Can’t be bias cause wrestlers dominate ufc jus look it up🤷🏽♂️
But most people in the ufc can’t box for shit
Yeah but that dont make you the ultimate fighter.. you need it all.. It may be tough asf but ...alot of yall are saying you're wrestlers anyway, so alot of biases in this comment section.
Wrestling base is still one the best bases, it's way easier to train other martial arts once uve trained wrestling
Anyone who disagrees wrestling isn’t legit go look at those guys after they finish the NCAA tourney broken teeth broken noses black eyes it’s brutal
Damn Woodley didn't even look at the white guy at all
That white guy is annoying
