Have no idea why these people even take the risk. If in doubt, just turn around and drive the extra few miles. I would rather add a few minutes to my journey than write off my vehicle. Total madness!
Insurance won't pay if they know you went through a flood on purpose, and rightly so. I'd imagine the insurance companies are already keeping a list a registration numbers in case the cars get 'stolen' in the next few days.
@@petersylvester2905 Yeah hopefully they dont pay out as remember the numpty who broke his Audi and got caught on camera saying it will be the 2nd insurance job ? people like him should be in jail for fraud
If the engine is going slowly, it's possible for water to just stop the engine without damaging it. Removing the spark plugs and cranking the engine can remove the water, and then the engine will run once the spark plugs are back in. That's what the mechanic was hoping for at around 1 minute. Going slowly reduces the bow wave, so reduces the chance of getting water in. And also reduces the chance of serious damage if water does get in.
Not only did the Sprinter driver destroy the engine, they grossly overloaded the trailer and Jeep they used for recovery. Am sure DVSA would take a VERY dim view of that. You can bet your bottom dollar neither vehicle was maintained to any sort of standard..
I see your point but look in the UK the don't really have money to tear the roads apart and to put storm drains in like the USA does we all care about our roads to actually to have money to have storm drains for somewhere for the water to go to
What are you testing 0:45. If comes water in the engine then he is dead in one second, you can fix it nothing, at the fast of time. And then start Again make the problems only bigger ....this people must accept, it was a bad idea and he's engine are dead now, you can pay a new engine or car
Lol could the juke driver not go any faster! Im guessing, he is the type that slates women drivers off for their errors. As a mere woman, i even know, if your going to risk driving through, then do it slowly and make a bow of water around the front of your car. However, id just turn and drive around! Saw his embarrassment when he told her to 'fook off', 😅😅.
And.....battery's are waterproof, it'll be 10000% fine, also I don't really think u understand how evs work, what do u mean "battery vents", it's only a problem of there was to be a hole in the battery which there wasn't otherwise it would have reacted with the lithium there and then
It just had bad luck with a single gulp of water straight into the air intake. The air filter was drenched. The loud bang after it managed to start was probably a connecting rod failing and poking a new hole in the engine.
Pretty much every car here would've just made it if they went crawling speed like the BMW did. Take just one extra minute of driving time to not write off your car. I've seen Land Rover Defenders hydrolock on this channel by trying to show off and going too fast. Even some off roaders with snorkels going to the roof still enter carefully. Besides all that, you're taking on rust in places where rain splatter wouldn't have gone and the EV's may get weird electrical issues over time. Cars aren't boats, just drive around flooded roads.
New car to replace the fiesta, driving instructor completely ignores the road closed sign lol another sprinter needing a new engine 😂😂😂but recovery 100% illegal with the small jeep not having tue brakes or r train weight for a 4250kg luton box sprinter van on a 750kg trailer
If a driving instructor is going to ignore a road closed sign no hope for their students!

The highest budget part of this production is Ben's clutch.
A sensible bmw driver that’s a worlds first surely 😂
The person driving probably borrowed the BMW!
Must be the first one I’ve seen 😂
I'm in awe.
Nope, his arm is out of the window & not on the steering wheel = driving without due care & attention 😢

That Sharan is a trooper. May need a new clutch shortly though.

Get a relaxing chair, tea and some nice biscuits, and watching pure entertainment, thats what i wouldt do,if i was living in this street.
What's the betting the Jeep was over towing capacity with that Sprinter on the trailer especially if he was loaded.

The lady Ford driver looked totally confused as to why she stopped. If she had gone a little bit slower she'd have got away with it.😕
To be fair, it does take a special kind of simpleton to think that speed is the answer.
Wow they are real stupid exept that bmw driver and the farmer with his tracktor. AWESOME VIDEO!!

Does anyone know why the sprinter/crafter is so bad in the water? The intake looks to be really high coming in from the top of the bonnet!
if i'm not mistaken that vent is for the cabin air (if it's anthing like the transit). The actual air intake is much lower behind the grill i think
It just had bad luck with a single gulp of water straight into the air intake. The air filter was drenched. The loud bang after it managed to start was probably a connecting rod failing and poking a new hole in the engine.
I have the same question. They are horrible. In all videos its the same, no matter how much water they encounter 🤷♂️
so many vehicles now have turbos on them. what happens when a vehicle with turbos gets flooded out? is it toast?
Wenn der Turbo Wassee zieht...autsch.
why are IC cars designed this way? the airs intake should be the highest part of the bonnet/hood. so shallow areas like this wont destroy your car
?? Normal cars aren't designed to go through bodies of water that's why, else you'd buy a boat or a 4x4

Air intakes are much lower on modern cars as engines work more efficiently using the cooler, denser air underneath the engine.
Weil es Straßenautos. Es sind keine Auto fürs Gelände. Jeeps haben Schnorchel usw
Wow, a BMW driver did it correctly for once!
Эй на джуке. Есть русская поговорка. Поспешишь - людей насмешишь.
Why are there water crossings like this? Why isn't the connection between the road and the water cut off?
One lesson is "drive slow or drive an EV" 🙂
Yes, but you will still get hydrodynamic damage, minimally removal of number plate.
The EV will probably just fail later due to water in non waterproofed parts.

I don't get why the signs say about a foot deep when the water is significantly deeper? Should they be placed in the deepest parts?
Yeah, I noticed that too!
what if the deepest part is the middle of the road? you arent really asking that question for real are you?😂
