Thank you so much for your tips. I've just sat and watched the whole thing as I'm doing my silver expedition this weekend and now I know a little more what it's going to be like. I didn't do bronze so I have no idea what's it's going to be like but thank you for the advice and tips 😊
Hey could you change your activity for physical and voluntary activity for example doing running for one month then going to the gym for one month and rock climbing for another. Is that allowed? Same as voluntary, can you like help in the library for one month, then help your mum cook for one month and then help in clubs for one month? Also does your assessor have to be be there in person to see you do it? Thanks for your help!
MashaAllah well done. Experiential and outdoor learning is something not given enough attention in the UK education system, unlike some of the more exemplary Scandinavian systems. The DofE Award is an excellent opportunity to access those qualitative learning outcomes for people form underprivileged or minority backgrounds, and it compliments higher Prophetic values also; values which are learned through a combination of study and practise. Great video. Keep it up 👍🏼

Hi Aliza. You are doing a great job in this lot of spare time that you have during Covid crisis. I am sure this will help a lot of students who had less awareness regarding O-level or A-level exams and how to get good grades. And above all many youngsters might follow your footsteps to do something valuable rather than just video-gaming .

What should I do for my volunteering section and how should I get a assessor for each section? I'm thinking of a assistant teacher for the skills section since I'm doing language - but I don't know what to do for volunteering or physical except for running and possibly helping at a public library. But - how would I approach them and how do I get an assessor for the physical section?
I am in year 9 and my school or DofE did not tell me when to start doing the weekly physical skills and volunteering, I did not want to go this in the first place and my parents forced me to do it, I have not done a single thing for it yet and my practice expedition is tomorrow, I honestly think that DofE is not worth it, you pay lots of money for a walk and to go out of your way every week to do something that isn’t enjoyable, They should be paying me!!! Honestly I don’t care about having it on my CV because some of the people that do DofE aren’t intelligent at all, and in my opinion job recruiters should not think highly of the kids with the completed a award.
Hi, my school currently does not provide a Bronze DofE at the moment, there are no activity providers that do the bronze award near me, no spaces left. My PE teacher said I can do the DofE myself and document my physical, skill and volunteering activities at home, e.g my coach can document my phys, piano teacher can do my skills, volunteering at school library the librarian can document it. Does this still count as a bronze DofE?
No problem! I'm not sure about that because in my school we couldn't do the expedition unless we had finished our sections so I don't know how that would work. I suggest asking your supervisor/leader. Each activity should be completed for an hour each week for however many months you choose to do it for.
From what I have researched it is similar. Here is the link for further information dukeofed.com.au/doing-the-award/ This is what they have listed as the key steps on their website, which is very similar to what there is in the UK. The only difference is I did it with my school instead of having to find an award center. @@hprivate9114 I am in year 12. So extra and super curricular are two different things. I'll assume you want me to address super curriculars, so there are lots of books available to read, if you search on Oxford or Cambridge's website they have a vast list of reading resources available for medicine. For MOOCs there is Futurelearn and if you search things like NHS or dementia or genetics a list of courses will appear. If you want a proof of completion of these courses you will have to pay but if you just want to do them, then they can be completed for free. Regarding WEX the very popular ones are Observe GP and BSMS Virtual WEX. But do be careful to not overwhelm yourself with all of this. These are just some ideas!
@@hprivate9114 I actually really enjoy maths and find it pretty do-able and the thing is because I do all sciences, including Physics and sooo much of maths and physics overlap, it helps me a lot. To be honest it really depends per person, your third A level can be anything as long as it is something you genuinely have have interest in and enjoy. I have made a video of A level choices so that may help.

It's the last day of the school year tomorrow, and in September, I'm going into Year 9. My school do participate in DofE. Honestly, I'm not the best person for things for this, getting homesick very quickly and not liking long hikes, and being around people who aren't my family or close friends. My biggest question is: Do I have to do the DofE? Or can I not do it? I searched Google but couldn't really find anything.

who do you write down for assessors name and position if you’re just learning how to play the piano at home??
I know people who have put down neighbours for activities like that, so you could do that and ask your leader if that's okay.

Very informative video, can you please tell me how many books did you read? For your skills.
for skills can i learn how to manage my money by myself in my room?
Pressing clothes is also a skill
I imagine so, yeah. Ask your dofe leader
How do you get started if your school doesn’t participate??
Like I said in the video you can try and search in an area near you and find a centre which participates in doing DofE. Hope that helps😁

How do i shower?
I don't think you shower its two days and a night. You can probably get soaps and deodorants though
Step into the shower and turn it on. Then use shower gel/shampoo/conditioner, etc :)
would it be the same process for a australian?

DofE is an optional thing and definitely not compulsory! Unless your school says you HAVE to do it which would be strange.
Bronze silver or gold, if I get a gold , they will only send me a certificate?
Im doing football for my Physical section. Would a picture of a football and the area I’m doing it be ok for evidence or would I have to do a video?
What grades did you get for your GCSEs?
