Thank you for introducing me to Sara Finellis work. I loved Van Goghs expressive mark making. It's a challenge to work loose and confidently. I was sad when this video finished. I listen and learn a lot from you. Much thanks again. Rachelle, Australia
Lots of useful information and insights as usual Helen! I like your idea of making notes about what you like when looking at another persons book (work). I think I will have to make this part of my work practice as very often I forget all the things that have inspired me! Have a lovely week. x
Oh my! Sara Fanelli is a name I’ve never heard of but her work reminded me of the art journaling of Teesha Moore. Her husband also does amazing art journaling but I can’t remember his first name…must be old age! Teesha does more collage than Sara but it rang a bell in me. Thank you again for your continual generosity. I’ve learned so much from you…and loooove your courses. We sure are lucky to have met you!
If you ever have the chance to visit the Kroller Muller museum in Holland, please do go. It's unique for where it's situated in a National Park, and has a huge sculpure garden as well as an indoor museum. I've been a couple of times growing up and absolutely loved it.
I enjoy your videos and it's very inspiring for me as I work with my watercolors and crayons....reconnecting with my inner child 😊 Thank you for sharing
Hi sweetie 💖 perfect video right before bed.🥱 I could listen to your voice all day, or night.🤭 I'm going to attack my Sketchbooks tomorrow. I've got water soluble pencils not inktense, but different. Never know what to do with them. Thanks so much! 💖💖💖much love always. 🇦🇺💖💖💖
Yes these are a specific brand of pencil called Inktense from Derwent when wet they are more similar to ink than watercolour…so give a very intense colour x
Helen do you have a video about your book? I bought it but I am overseas and it will take a while until having it on my hands 😊.. It would be nice to have a glance ❤
@@HelenWellsArtistBeautiful book ❤️.. I am in love with your style as it has inspiring me so much to overcome the fear or putting something in a blanc page. Thank you Helen 🙏🏼
What brand of sketch book do you use, the pages look as if they are pretty thin, I was wondering how the work doesn’t go through to the back. Thanks for sharing appreciated.
Yes in this sketchbook the paper is pretty thin, it's only 150gsm.. its a Daler Rowney A3 sketchbook,, I usually like thicker paper but bought this one for its big size., the materials i'm using don't bleed through...
I am a big fan of your art, first of all. Furthermore the books you showed were very inspiring and interesting, thanks for showing them to me.
Well that’s super lovely of you. Thank you so very much. Helen x

Your art is definitely a lot nicer than Sara Finellis
Oh I just love her work, and think it is brilliant, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder
