    For context,
    I am 21 and I deliver pizza for dominos.
    The percentages in the beginning are pretty accurate from what I've experienced in my 6 1/2 months working.
    I get so angry when people don't use their blinkers it boils my blood.
    All I can say is,
    there's billions of people that could save their own lives by watching this video.
    You are truly doing the world some justice!

      I bet you see a lot of bad driving when you’re out on the job making deliveries. And not using blinkers is an all too common one. It really bothers me too, since it’s so easy to do, and like you said, it can save lives. Just keep driving safe and watch out for those who aren’t. We love Dominos!

      I use my blinker like 98% of the time. Sometimes I forget. But the majority of the time, I remember and it's a good thing it let's drivers know what you are doing and going to do.

    The first thing you need to do when you go left on a roundabout, is turn on left signal. Then when you leave, turn on right when you leave, but these are good tips, thank you!

    The problem is, some drivers ignore your signal. That is why as a driver I do not just merge even if I put the signal on. What they do is just they don't want anyone to merge before them. This causes accidents. Driving a car is a resonsibility, as a driver you can maim or kill someone.

    Thank you for this. I don’t have a car to practice with, I got my permit and I’ve been borrowing other people’s cars once and a while, and my depth perception is terrible. I notice whenever I use my turn signal it’s too short. This video helped a lot as a visual of what’s a good space to use the turn signal. I’m taking my drivers test soon, hopefully all goes well.

    3:14 I was looking for this after it happened to me last night. I was pulling out of Taco Bell and preparing to go on the road, when a car driving down the road turned their blinker on before the exit from where I was. I figured they were turning into where I was coming from, so I went ahead and pulled out. They honked their horn, and when I got into the turn lane I needed to be in, I saw them turning at the intersection.

    • @HowSkills
      @HowSkills  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That kind of thing happens frequently, and sometimes it results in an accident. I'm glad that didn't happen to you. It's hard to figure out other driver's intentions sometimes when they're signaling along a road with many entry/exit points. Driver's shouldn't signal too far ahead when it could be confusing to others.

    If we don't have a good idea what 100 feet is how about we follow the rule of thumb to make sure we put our turn signals on when we know the very next exit that comes up is where we want to go no matter how far it is? Is this ok if we're doing a road test for our license?

    • @HowSkills
      @HowSkills  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you don't have a good idea of what 100 feet is, then you are not alone! It's difficult to really gauge that, so if in doubt, put your signal on plenty of time ahead. Having it on sooner is way better than putting it on at the last minute and surprising other drivers around you. Just be careful about confusing other drivers if there are a lot of possible turning points in a row off of the road you're on. They might think you're turning sooner than you actually are. But, again, sooner is much better than later, and I happen to think that, even though the law/guidance is 100 feet, you should put your turn signal on sooner than that. 100 feet goes by very quickly at almost any speed. It's okay on a road test to signal early, just as long as you don't overdo it and put it on way, way before your turn.

    Great video man! Quick question. What if you have a brake/signal light out. How do you legally signal with your hand that you're slowing down as well as turning? I suppose you'd use a turn hand signal first and then as you brake, you'd alternate your hand between braking and turning? This way the cop still could not pull you over legally as you signaled your turn beyond 100' and then as you began to brake, you went from the hand turn signal only to an alternating hand turn then hand brake signals. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

    On a test course: I have to stop. There is a mandatory left arrow. I have to go right a few meters before the road goes left. There is another stop and then a mandatory left to the end. Do I need to use any signal at all? Right to get to the 1st left? Then left and switch off before the next stop and then left again and switch off before I get to the end? TIA!

    • @HowSkills
      @HowSkills  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      At any point where you have to make an actual turn off of one road onto another, you need to use your signal. If the road is just curving, but it is still the same road, you wouldn't need to use a signal. If I'm understanding it correctly, it sounds like you are turning onto some different roads and/or stopping and then changing directions, which would require you to use a signal. I would think it would be as you described at the end of your comment. But again, I may not be picturing what you're doing correctly.

    here in Australia some people when stopped on the left side of the road keeps their right turn signal on. what does it mean?

    • @HowSkills
      @HowSkills  ปีที่แล้ว

      You want to get the attention of traffic already on the road you’re merging onto, so put on your signal almost immediately after you enter the acceleration ramp. This gives the other vehicles the most amount of time to notice you, and more time for them to possibly change lanes to allow you to merge in.
