I chose the 5010c with the pike fork. 250 miles so far. Man I love this bike! AR27 wheel set feels heavy though. Looking for a light wheel set now. Man, it's endless :)
Living on the front range and being old, I much prefer the 2x10. I need the crawler gear. I got this bike with an upgrade to the pike RCT. (I have the Sector in reserve) for less than 4k. Smoking bike.
I demo'd this particular bike and could sense that the frame was amazing, the sektor fork was just plain scary when pushed at all hard. I know Santa Cruz are trying to cover a wide budget with this bike but it should not have this fork. Shop owner popped her own pike onto it for me and it was transformed. I now owned one.
When I had 2x10, the bottom two gears were useless. The front wheel wanted to pop up, and if I wasn't spinning like a rabbit, I was going so slow that I would fall over. When I switched to 1x10, I only lost those two worthless gears and one up top that I only used down hill anyway, (Because 2x10 is closer to 13 or 14 speed when you account for overlap.) Maybe if you can spin 120rpm all day and you have a 100mm stem, you can use those grannies.
You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. I ran a 150mm fork on my 5010 for a while and it ruins the handling, and also makes the front wheel wander when going up steep climbs, even with the stem slammed all the way down. I would recommend staying at 130 or 140.
if you want bang for buck check out motobecanes bikes from places like bikes direct I wouldn't be able to have a nice entry level without them got mine 60 percent off because it's how they do things all though bike is 6 years old but I love it so much
Goodman 4525 if i knew that dude it wouldn't have been stolen, but they smashed through my concrete lock up and then stihl saw through my motor bike chain

It's just overpriced. That doesn't mean it's not a good bike, it is, but all of the Santa Cruz's are overpriced.
the santacruz bullit mk2 was a great looking frame

How many
Funny how people that have a 1x drivetrain insistint in not using the granny gear when they got a bike with 2x.

can I put a 150mm travel fork ti my New 5010?
I wouldn't go past 10mm of travel either way from the fork that comes on the bike but if you play around with the headset it should work.

I had a 2016 Bronson cc in Kalimotoxo till it was stolen. Now I have a YT Capra CF Pro Race in stealth black and it's amazing.
nice!
how was it stolen ?
Goodman 4525 if i knew that dude it wouldn't have been stolen, but they smashed through my concrete lock up and then stihl saw through my motor bike chain
my garden is 120 meters long
my YT stays in the house now
the frame is made from China?
so
No, it's not. China for Carbon. I think their Alloy frames might be in Taiwan.
Stop gesticulating with your hands all the time, it's annoying. The rest is good.
Its actually 135 not 130 mm of travel...
