    I’ve seen these linkers but had no idea what they did or how they worked. Pretty neat. Thanks for all your videos.

      I recall seeing one years ago, and like you didn't know what it did, then I had seen the manual of it and then it clicked in. But sometimes the manuals were not translated very well. Then it is time for me to fool around and try what I think they are trying to show or just find the way I like best.

    Hi Roberta, thank you for the nice video. Did you buy yours linker new or used? And is there a linker for the bulky knits?

    • @RobertaRoseMeads

      I did get this one used, had to get a few things to make her complete, thanks to the place across the pond as they tend to have those parts but also other books that I haven't seen here in the States.
      As far as I know, this is the only one, for the standard.
      There is the Studio Auto Linker that works on the machine
      th-cam.com/video/yjDD0h9y9Y8/w-d-xo.html but you can also just hang the 2 pieces on the machine and knit a row, then bind off or just bind off right there.
      For the bulky you can do the same chain stitch the linkers do as I did here:
      th-cam.com/video/pCimTTldELU/w-d-xo.html
      And I am pretty sure that Brother has that accessory also, so you do not need the larger one, I just happened to get one at a deal, so went for it. And I rarely use it but going to keep it.
      Berda

    Totally awesome video! Really liked being able to see how the chain stitch is made! Now to find one!

      Glad it was helpful! I really enjoyed this linker, the standard machines have a linker that goes on the machine, but when I got this accessory, I was in love.

    Do you think if I buy a second hand linker it should be ok? Is there anything I should watch out for?

      Hard to say, if an ad has :do not know anything about it", then i would worry that it may not work. Hope you find one that works.

    If your garment is longer than the linker, could you take off the part which has been linked and keep adding on the rest of the garment? Being manually operated would help with this operation, I think.

      You surely can, that is what I did with one of my sweaters that I used the linker to join the pieces together.

    Can you use this to finish a baby blanket joining the seams together

    • @RobertaRoseMeads
      @RobertaRoseMeads  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You sure can, anything that needs joining or seaming together will be easier with this. Or you can manually crochet seam knitted parts together or even machine knit them.

    Hi Roberta. Stupid question, but why is this any better that using a sewing machine?

    • @RobertaRoseMeads
      @RobertaRoseMeads  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No question is stupid. It really doesn't matter if you use a sewing machine or this or other linker's, or even hand sew with the same yarn. It is up to the person is all.

      www.allbrands.com has some, but also you can go directly to Hague over in the UK, but shipping will be a bit.
