Air conditioners do not exchange inside air for outside air. They extract the heat from the inside air through its evaporator and transfer it into outside air through its condenser. This type of high particulate air pollution may clog the the air conditioner's condenser though.

I'm Idaho. It's been raining almost all June. . . May was pretty cold compared to the other Mays we've ever had (that I remember). It went from winter to summer -which hasn't really gotten hot like it used to (90-100s). we basically had 1 week of spring.
