You don't necessarily have to go to the gym for the CFA, but it will help you prepare for more long term effects. Calisthenics (Pushups, Body weight) can take you far, but powerlifts like military press, floor press, and squats can really help you on your pushups. You can also do banded pullups.
Hey im probably the #1 worst candidate trying to get in to the academy’s, but I might as well ask. I have a 3.59GPA (all regular classes), NJROTC all years high school, Eagle Scout, MULTIPLE members of my family have been in the military (dad, step dad, grandfather, other grandfather, step grandfather, uncle, 2 more uncles, and my great grandfather, and it keeps going) on Drill team freshman & junior year (sophomore was covid), but no sports teams in high school . I’m currently a junior (first semester) in high school what do you suggest I do? Like get into Honors or AP classes in the second semester, and other stuff.
@@liez115 No sir, I’m in the marines now, graduated high school with a 3.98 though and got more physically fit. I think if I re applied I would get it, but I no longer want to join the naval academy.

Currently I'm involved in multiple sports of which I'm team captain of and president for some clubs. I'm also taking stem related AP classes but I'm wondering what did you score on the SAT when you had to take it?
first of all thank you so much for your comment! It means a lot to me knowing that I can help people with this. Good job on the team captain for sports, that’s a big one, and something I didn’t have as I went to a school with little sport options. So big points there. Same with being president of clubs and the AP classes. As for the SAT, USAFA is big on standardized testing. Personally, I never liked the SAT. I got like a 1170 or something. Only took it once and that’s it. I like the ACT more, which I got a cumulative 28 (if I calculated it correctly) with a 10 on the writing. I would definitely recommend taking the SAT multiple times, as there is no down side to it. A lot of schools got rid of the standardized testing score requirement cause of the virus, but with a school like USAFA, I highly doubt they would do that. Hope this answered your question. @@Rod115-r2q man I actually am at the Citadel right now. Still a great college to go to and you can choose either a civilian or military path. The academies are a difficult situation because I wouldn’t have found out if I’ve been accepted till 2 months before school ended.

Probably not. About 1 out of 10 gets an offer of appointment.
What is the minimum number of pull ups? That's what I'm struggling on right now. I can get the average in all of the other categories.
