How fascinating! I love reading the comments from people who grew up there. I just discovered this while doing genealogy research on my great grand father.
Happy memories of Sunday walks along the path beside the Maine to Harper's town, or through the "rack" covered in bluebells, and out onto the railway line then into Cullybackey back over the river to Granny's at Hillmount Row, before that over the field back to "Bog house", Grandfather worked on the farm at the "Big" house for seventy-five years, got the papers and a medal to prove it, great times !
Hi Robert - Many thanks for viewing my Channel and “Hillmount Factory Cullybackey”. Yes, it is good to be able to rekindle those memories of times past and it is great to have this record of a once thriving industry which unfortunately has all but disappeared. Many thanks once again!
Out & About Northern Ireland both my parents and their siblings worked there. Being born in Cullybackey, enjoyed mischievous times rambling through the empty houses at Harpers Town along with the factory site. In later years (1993) I was fortunate to be able to provide the remaining workforce with a sizeable clothing order. Gave me pride.
Mervyn M - Many thanks for providing a little insight into your association with the Frazer and Haughton mill at Cullybackey. Unfortunately this mill has gone the way of all like Linen mills in Northern Ireland and all we are left with is a memory. However it is good to be able to reminisce and look back to happier times and to what was once a thriving industry.
Out & About Northern Ireland very much so. After working there my would be parents moved to the Maine works and later on my dad went to work for British Enkalon in Antrim. As you say, all gone.

Mervyn M - Thanks for viewing the video - you would be familiar with this location then? Great part of the country!
