Thank you! for this fine video. Im new to RC, just ordered a v911 and a v912. I cant wait till they get here! in the mean time, im trying to learn as much as i can, to be prepared when they arrive. thanks!
Edward Lyons My first heli arrived today! it turns out its the V912 (i was expecting the v911 first). My first flight resulted in me having to quickly kill the throttle to avoid hitting the wall LOL. The second flight i was able to hover it more or less (a few scares hehe), and noticed drifting to the left and to the rear even when about 50cm in the air (well above ground effect). Did some mechanical trimming, and then it only took about 2 clicks of the Tx trim buttons to correct. Also had to apply some trimming to the rudder. By the 3rd flight, i was able to hover it DEAD ON for a long time! Either this bird is VERY VERY stable, or im a VERY quick learner! (probably the former) LOL
I have a question I crashed my helicopter it’s a F 45 series and now the Rutter doesn’t work properly I checked the motor it runs fine seems like maybe my computer board may have taken the shock how do I test for Rutter voltage
Ok, I have one the cheaply made ones ... a "Cloudquest W6625". I had the right aileron trim maxed out and it still wanted to drift right. As it flew away from me it was obvious enough to see the main rotor was tilted. Adjusting the ball linkage to level the swash plate helped a lot, thanks.
Thank you sir...I've flying the MJX for a year now. I gave up trying to understand what was being communicated. (I'm new to the chinglish language) I've trimmed it but that's all. I like to fly it a lot, great hobby.
Good vid, thanks Edward! I agree that it is intimidating to start tinkering with these, but you make it seem relatively painless and easy to do. I have been sitting on the fence between WL and MJX...based on your commentary below it looks like you are recommending the 912 huh? I see now they have a V912 brushless...which is awesome, but the ESC placement is horrid, sits right on top of the LiPo. I think I will hold off until they re-jig the layout and add a brushless rear motor as well. Be nice too if they could ditch the mechanical flyer...
I found this to be a completely unnecessary step on a fixed pitch. I have two V912's and one I leveled the swash and the other one I didn't. The one that I didn't fly's perfect out of the box, the one I leveled took a lot of trim adjustments even though it was perfectly leveled. It may depend on the heli as you receive it though?. Very well done video by the way, thanks
Thank You Billy. Your right, these things are mass-produced and they do vary wildly. With the V912 in particular, I have had swash plate perfectly leveled requiring no real TRX trim settings. I can be done flying for the day & put the Helo away. Then the next day I can take that same exact Helo out to fly & it's all over the place requiring re-leveling of swash plate AND trim adjustments. Problem I identified is is plastic/nylon swash plate and other pieces that get warped, elongated or ware out.
Great video! Thanks for the info. I've got a question: I've got the V912 (owned two actually) and they've both "broken" the same way. I was flying indoors and knocked a table leg. I didn't think anything of it, picked it up, set it upright and increased the throttle. However, this time, the helicopter was uncontrollable. I could hover it, but the inputs wouldn't listen, like they were sluggish. At first, I thought it was a gyro issue, but after watching your video, I wonder if I've broken my swash plate. What do you think?
To clarify, it was 25% controllable for a few moments. Then, it started to lose control, mostly to the right. The control inputs wouldn't respond. The tail rotor functioned perfectly, but everything else was very difficult to control.
Austin Gunn Without seeing it I would def check your swashplate and all the connectors. Those parts are nylon and can elongate or hair-line fracture without you really seeing it and not cause performance issues until sufficient torque causes rotor failure.
I have a wltoys v913, it has been flying great and I didn't use it for about 6 weeks because I had to replace rear tail motor and ever since then when I take off the body spins uncontrollable to the left?. any help would be great?
yeah will do, by the way do you know what kind of brushless motor can be install on the v912 tail motor? i am getting tired of the stock motor keep dying on me... lol
That's one heck of a job to replace that motor you must be a Pro by now? :) Unfortunately the ESC can't handle (to my best knowledge) a Brush less Motor. Might be time for an Upgraded Copter?
hello again sir i found some interesting upgrades for the v912. www.miracle-mart.com/store/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&search_in_description=1&keyword=v912&inc_subcat=0&sort=2a&page=2 if you can acquire the upgrades. please review them :-)
yes but you will get to a point where your helicopter body is actually tilted to one side which throws off your CG & makes the Helo increasingly harder to trim AND fly !
Hi Edward , I have a couple of helicopters an syma 107g and mjx f645. My f645 had a crash and the main motor shaft broke. I replaced with the new one but the blades are not that comfortably moving with servo. Is the problem with the new motor shaft or trimming options ?
HI, it could be any number of things, servo's, servo arms, bent or elongated couplings/turnbuckles. But my guess it's a servo. Disconnect your turnbuckles and try your servos with TRX. Check for movement and that it moves freely. Also don't push/pull on servos as that can strip them. Let me know how you make out & good luck !! Happy Fly'n !!
Edward Lyons It was a disaster while flying with mjx f645, I broke landing gear, tail fin, and a bent gyro in my last crash. I tried to trim the servos and fly it, but this was what happened. It is taking off steadily but if you try to move front it is going diagonally front and back- it goes diagonally back and that too it is not stabilizing back to the normal position, rather hitting the ground. I really lost hope that it would work normally, should I order a new one or can you suggest me something ....?
ouch! I've been there Bud. I have found the NJX to be the least reliable. I have lost 2 forver (flyaways). The TRX & antennae are not the best. Once I exhaust my MJX's ( I have 3) I am done with that brand. I have had MUCH better luck with WL Toys V911, V912 & V913. All stable, durable fun flyers that instill confidence. I highly recommend !!
Phani Teja Hands Down the V913 because the radios (TRX) and receiver are much more reliable and the copter is nicer overall !! Hope this helps & Happy fly'n !! :)

elvampir0 The V912 is MY favorite of all smaller 4 channel helicopters !

thanks mate I'm putting new one on next week and the swish plate il just align and try that, thanks for taking time to answer😀 much appreciated
+Lee Jones Good luck & let Me know how you make out with it? I can always learn a thing or two as well :)

Thanks for the informative video, keep them coming please!

hi again,
just wanted to let you know it was the tail motor(happy r days) but it flying forward and to left?
hi a have a v912 but others are saying the f45 main motor is a lot better than the 912
Hi Ed.
Is there an english user manual?
I like to know how to adjust the transmitter.

+Lee Jones Hmmm,..could be swash-plate or your new tail motor is defective ? Without seeing it, it's hard to tell.
hello, sir does the carbon fibre upgrades on the MJXF45 fits on the V912? plan to do some mods in the future
Roxass00 I don't know? they are roughly the same size so it might with slight modifications? let me know how you make out.
yeah will do, by the way do you know what kind of brushless motor can be install on the v912 tail motor? i am getting tired of the stock motor keep dying on me... lol

haha nope, not a pro but I try and ask around my rc neighborhood and see how does it goes..

All of your adjustments can be done from the receiver instead of messing with the turnbuckles!

i thought it was done well very friendly, and you are not trying to be a pro which to me says you are worth listening to
