We are hoping on a day when it has been very dry for awhile, not a lot of runoff will have gone into the cave and hopefully the air will have cleared. We will definitely have an air meter and spare air tanks to get us out of a situation if we do encounter the gas again
@@ActionAdventureClipsguys we all love your videos but don't get too involved to risk your lives just for a good shot or video. There are people out here that do care.
@@ActionAdventureClips from what research I've done, it sounds like you guys encountered a gas called fluorine. And yes it was smart to leave because it's toxic. If you're still having issues, please consult a doctor and explain this to them, that you may have encountered a possibly toxic gas in a cave and that it may have been fluorine.
I’m pretty sure something like a CBRN mask/filter is made to filter chlorine gas, but I have no idea if there’s enough oxygen available in that environment for it to still be safe.
This is the most terrifying video I've watched in a long time, but so exhilarating at the same time! Can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking this adventure and showing us what's going on down there. Sad that man's pollution has infected this entire planet, even so deep down in the earth. The rock collector part of me absolutely loves that you stopped to look through the cool rocks! ❤❤❤ Do you think the second stream up in the break down could’ve possibly been were that spot above the waterfall where the river flew under the low rock ended up? Still can’t quite pinpoint what it is about this cave that’s so interesting, but it was so great to get to see more of it!
I think the golf ball was the most interesting part and really helps narrow down where the pollution comes from, we are really hoping to pop out at the golf course some day if we can maybe go on a day when it hasn't rained so much and brought so much pollution into the cave
We aren't quite sure if the two streams are connected but we do think they probably are and that crawling up the smaller one would just lead back to the main stream but maybe just a little further up in the cave than we made it
@@ActionAdventureClips it was a little sad you didn’t have the chance to explore all the paths up top, but definitely glad you guys got out of there before anything bad happened! Well, anything worse. Chemical exposure obviously wasn’t good. 😬
@@ActionAdventureClips That makes absolute sense! Golf courses are notorious for causing toxic run-off, due to all the fertilizers and pesticides, etc etc etc. I used to work at a golf course, we would spray chems by the fuckin 5 gallon bucket.
Instant destination F. 😂. But that would be extremely…really…fairly unlikely to happen…right? 😂. Pack some of those cyalume light sticks for emergency back up.
Golf ball and gassius odor? Country club. May have drained their pool (chlorine) and used fertilizer on the course (derived from ammonia) and the two mixed into a very toxic gas.... which can kill you! Be careful my dudes! ❤
Definitely the golf ball is an important clue, and we aren't sure if it's the pool they have or the fertilizer or both but considering there was green foam we do believe it's mostly fertilizer or some kind of pesticide
We found a discription for this cave and it says the water in the cave comes from bear cove. we looked at bear cove on a map and i swear its a giant golf course, and my friend who lives near there said they have been having a massive problem with sinkholes forming on the course
did you report that gas/contamination to the city or EPA? If it was that strong, someone should probably investigate how all those chemicals are getting in there
Or a golf course because we found a golf ball and what appears to be fertilizer runoff in the cave but we don't know where all the broken glass and trash comes from
An excellent question! That tunnel wasn't built it was dug out. Those massive slabs of sedimentary rock were formed there by nature before the digging and they were left in place after the tunnel was done.
Only dug out at entrance. It is mostly washed out through sedimentary rocks. The main roof is a massive and very hard layer of limestone. The layers under it look stacked not because people built it but because they are separate layers of sediment. Softer sediment under the roof. That is why the cave formed. There are sea fossils in the rocks. There are also nodules and some semiprecious stones. Mostly a natural cave. Except around entrance.
All I'm thinking about is my luck there would be an earthquake!! I can't do this!! I have to tell myself... They got out!! If not no video. But I still find myself yelling at them to get out!! Smh
I doubt it’s possible, but when you guys go into caves with rivers you should try panning them for gold. I know you probably don’t have the battery life for that idk
The whole cave is full of bits of trash that washes in, what are they supposed to do, meticulously go through and collect every little piece and then go back after every storm and do it all over again?
