I remember at around midnight, they would switch over from showing show previews to this tune all night, showing random channel logos and playing this music until about 7 in the morning, those were the days.
This reminds me of the first week my grandparents got cable back in 1992.That Prevue Channel music really enthralled me for some reason-even invented a silly dance to go with it.I felt a little like Carlton from 'Fresh Prince Of Bel Air' lol
I think a resurrection of the Prevue Guide is needed. It doesn't matter if it has to be cable/satellite, or on high-speed internet, I would love to have this back!
They must have switched to Opening Act days later, because Prevue Guide first launched on TKR on February 1, 1993, and this had already been replaced by then.
Good catch! I don't believe that this is an error. This is the Hopkinton, MA lineup. I don't know why the cable provider didn't have WGBH but in addition to WENH, I see WSBE and WGBX. Interesting!
I remeber Preview Guide then it became the Tv Guild channel but before that it was called Preview choice or something. Man brings back memoryies when Charter/Crown had it on ch. 3 in my area.
same here, grandmas house LOL. the song at 0:09 used to creep me out could have been no older than 9, and is still unsettling to hear. Suprised I still remember it, like a repressed memory. Like it was a song of anticipation and leading up to something.
@buddywayneauthor You don't really need it with digital cable (does analog still exist) most systems have a built in guide you can browse, and you can view stuff up to a week ahead as well usually.
@actny99 Media General (now Cox) in Fairfax had this same thing, but without that same music all the time. (Running to the bathroom for a Q-Tip to get that earworm out)
What a memory of days before 2001... seems like another lifetime ago... great work

I loved Prevue Guide as well. I wish something like this was on today.
Oh, this brings back memories! I used to watch Prevue Guide for unhealthy amounts of time back in the day. :)

Andregrindle I used to turn on Prevue Guide just for the music.

I like this music; it brings back memories for me. This music sounds like the theme from the TV show "Fight Back!™ With David Horowitz."
LOL@ all the old logos. I remember this channel so well.

it's known as tv guide, in 1998, TV Guide magazine bought prevue and then convirted it to the TV Guide network
The only time I saw this was when I was at my grandmothers house.

In Abilene The TV Guide channel wasn't available until 2001.
Ahh, this brings back memories. This was recorded in '93? I was probably about six years old at the time. I miss the
'90's! ; (
This was back when CMT only played music videos but now they do other stuff too.
Oh my goodness, WLNE! I totally forgot about that!
Back then when WLNE is a CBS station.
Did you do it with or without the sound?
Does anyone have clips of Prevue Guide from between 1994-1996 with the singing cowboy promo? I haven't seen those in ages.
i was 9 back then.
man i feel old.
I was 30.
Days old, not years.
