In the game you don't fight the boss, but try to be secretive and not get caught by him, which is why the music doesn't sound as threatening as in this version, but more exciting. Picture this: You get spotted and harpooned by searchlight, and you have to press E to flash the spotlight. When it drops you, you can see that its eyes are purple. When you try to hide underneath something, it spots you through objects, and your vision gets all purple, and you’re so slow that you PHYSICALLY CANNOT ESCAPE when it spots you. Did I forget to tell you that the enraged spotlight LOCKS ONTO YOU!? Even if you use speed hacks, the beams will track you until you slow down enough to grab you. I think you can agree that this is the DEFINITION of big mistake.
Bro imagine if when searchlights spots you and you hide under something, it uses that harpoon it has to toss the hiding spot away, and the game has it unanchored until it finds its final resting spot.

The beat drop also gives it a intense feeling, as if the spotlights notice you, and you’re done repairing generators, but there’s a long, long way to the next door (even if there really isn’t, but still, holy shit the beat drop is good.)

Or both. And a bigger room with now you fixing 10 generators instead of 5
And add if flashing them angers them to get faster and make double the beams
And fixing a generator will alert all the searchlights and every time you finish one they get faster
