It’s great when Jack gives up on Conan and just starts telling the story to Sona and Matt
Sona asking Conan to leave his own podcast was * chef's kiss *
I love how it flew under the radar when they suggested to cut the microphone, Jack said cut his vocal cords . Definitely has a quick wit.
It also feels hilariously out of character for Jack, who has this whole “sweetie” persona. At another point in the episode they make a bit of Jack saying villainous things and how wrong it sounds, and here he is suggesting murder unprompted!
We bumped into Jack at the Jodhpur airport. Can confirm he's a super nice dude! We asked for a picture which happily agreed to and even chatted with us for a good 10 minutes once he discovered we were musicians! Turns out we were on the same flight as Nick's family and some special guests from Delhi.

Btw, I think Jack said the wedding was in Jodhpur, Conan and Sona had visited Jaipur. They are different cities! Both are in the western state of Rajasthan though and are famous for majestic hill fortresses and Rajput architecture. My favorite is the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur, it looms over the city. Anyone who hasn't been to these cities and visiting India, they are a must see.
Its 2 hour drive..so not that far
They all realized these are different cities in the podcast, right about that same time as well. They cut that part here.

It's so funny to hear Western people so fascinated by Indian weddings and the humongous number of rites and rituals involved, the multiple day feasts and just unmanageable number of guests, often in the thousands. Because all of these are the exact reason why someone like me (a socially awkward introvert) dreads weddings and would like nothing more than a simple Western wedding where you exchange vows, kiss the bride/groom and have like 30-40 guests. As they say the grass is always greener on the other side.😅
Same. I stopped going to weddings the minute I hit puberty. Before that, weddings used to be fun. Its like a weird thing where most of my friends are all introverts and yet people just expect them to have these big weddings not knowing social anxiety is a thing of this generation. I for one certainly hoped that the covid restrictions for wedding continue indefinitely. Max 50 guests. And even then its too much people. Grass being greener, a western wedding does seem more elegant than an indian wedding.
Those weddings do seem extremely overwhelming for someone introverted.
I’m Mexican and our weddings are always lively and loud and I feel the EXACT same way. For my own wedding, I’ll probably have a quiet, 30-minute ceremony.
I think the common thread for all weddings is that they're only truly fun if you're a guest with no ceremonial responsibilities.
Yeah absolutely my social anxiety has saved or prevented me from going to many of my close friends' weddings. It's terrifying. At this rate i might not even show up for my own wedding
Some good friends of mine are Indian here is Los Angeles and other than being a week long and costume changes (maybe it was for my friends?) everything else Jack said was true! Colorful, musical, friendly, festive, and … magical! It was a blast!
Well sometimes people don't have the money or time. And all indian weddings aren't alike, depends on regions how they conduct it.

BEST EPISODE EVER OF THE BEST PODCAST EVER! I have never laughed so much listening to a podcast. There are always laughs to be had with Conan, Sona, and Matt but this episode was something else. Jack McBryer is so kinda low key funny but his impact is just gigantic. Love'im. "Oh, sir" 🤣🤣🤣
I love how Conan is struggling so hard to keep it together. He can't let Jack finish his story because he can't help being serious for one second around Jack. It's gotta go straight into hillbilly jokes
I think you missed the bit. The whole bit is Conan giving Jack a hard time. Him rushing him is part of that. It's not that he's tired of being serious. He's specifically not being serious by giving Jack a hard time, and Jack knows that and plays into it. They're just so good at it that it comes off as serious lol
Jack's right, Indian weddings are awesome. The one I went to was just one day but it was the most fun wedding I've ever been to. If you get invited to a catholic wedding, SKIP IT! Nothing more long and boring exists under the sun 😆

Surprised Jack is friends with the Jonas Brothers and got an invite to the wedding but also not. He’s so kind and genuine which is why so many celebrities invite him as they are used to such a lack.
The best part of his invite is that most of Bollywood wasn't even invited. And Bollywood stars KNOW. EACH. OTHER.

@@someone1 they werent because priyanka just maintains proffesional relationship with them so didnt invite them her wedding. But they had a reception here in India where bollywood stars were invited. And the PM of India: Narendra Modi.
Karan Johar a pro nepotistic power player in Baaliwood tried with his full might to get Priyanka Chopra blackballed. Priyanka Chopra decided enough is enough and chose to focus on her career in Hollywood. Since all the Baaliwood actors are Karan Johar's chamchas Priyanka would never call them to her actual wedding. Parineeti Chopra who is more intelligent and talented than Alia is often mistreated by Johar because of the same.
The idea that if you go to an Indian wedding and expect it to be like priyankas is crazy.
I never watched 30 Rock and only saw him on a few bits on Conan’s and Leno’s shows years ago. Watching this podcast on TH-cam it’s nice to know that Blanche Devereaux raised a wonderful young man.

That's not the joke. Conan is just an attention seeker and is disrespectful. He doesn't let the guests talk. That's the worst quality any podcast host can have.
He and Conan always go at it in some way but you can tell they really enjoy and respect each other.

People telling what to wear in their wedding only happens in celebrity weddings... In Indian wedding people whatever that want based on the wedding event... Also it's not a costume for us it's our traditional clothes which we wear regularly in religious functions, festivals, weddings and other celebrations.
They probably guided their guests, who were not Indian, so that they knew what kind of outfits to wear for which occasion. You, being an Indian, would definitely know the difference between outfits for a haldi ceremony and an outfit to be worn for the main marriage ceremony or the outfit for the mehendi ceremony.

Even on his TV show, Conan had trouble letting guests tell anecdotes without interrupting - a sometimes annoying habit, given that he’s had some of the best celebrity raconteurs on his show. One time, he had Bill Hader on, and basically retold whole parts of Bill’s story, including impressions. I was thinking, “No, dude, it’s Bill Hader. You let HIM tell the story.” Ditto for Jack McBrayer - I could listen to him tell stories all day. He’s delightful.
