Not to be shitty but, Being on parole is not going to burger king, every single con hates their parole officer, mainly becuase they call them on their bullshit.
He is going to require lifetime care and if he doesn’t get it he end up on streets and back in jail most likely.
I think Mr.Newman should just consider where he is “home”
Maybe dropping federal and state funding for mental facilities and shutting down a lot of private ones was a bad idea…. MAYBE?
Reganomics.
Sure, but how would we pay for it?!? It's not like America is the most capable *and* wealthiest nation state in human history.
...well, even if we were, I doubt an overwhelming majority of Americans want citizens to have guaranteed [mental] health care.
...well, even if we did want this, it's not like the government could provide better health care services than private companies structured to prioritize profit above patient outcomes.
...well, even if Medicare/Medicaid could somehow get the budget increase to meet the challenge...... Tsk... The budget deficit is just too big and we have to make sacrifices.
Are you seriously suggesting we should have a $1,510,000,000,000 annual deficit (and solve a massive crisis) instead of a $1,500,000,000,000 annual deficit?? I bet you also believe that investing directly in mental health services would save us money by reducing the burden on welfare programs like EBT, homeless shelters, food banks, etc...
Oh, and you think it'll help communities via indirect benefits to businesses and fear of crime? Psh you're crazy 😜❤️
I wanted to share my story that pertains to this exactly! I was a manager to a house where we rented rooms out. This is how I met a brilliant young lady. I took her under my wings like a daughter. During the first 6 months, I started chemo, and had become blind due to my illness etc..she helped me. So loving, no problems. It was on the 7th month that a switch flipped. This young lady suddenly thought I was poisoning her food and water. Then one day, after my chemo treatment, I was very weak and couldn't make it to my bed, I laid down on our couch. She had came in through the front door and charged at me, grabbed my hair, dragged me around the carpet as she punched me in the face, yelling a bunch of nonsense. For some reason, she suddenly let go. That was when I called 911. Thankfully, the DA in our county asked me what I wanted to do. I adamantly said that she needed mental health help, NOT jail time. So, she was ordered to be admitted to long term, inpatient mental health facility, plus a restraining order. She is doing better and has started college now. Jail time would've destroyed her. My point is, if we deal with mental health issues, then we would eliminate so many other problems.
My goodness, this was a true nightmare. She could have killed you. Bless you and the DA for helping her. I hope your better health wise also.

Thing is they are sending him to a mental health facility.
If everyone, including myself, had your empathy, foresight, and kindness, the world would be a better place.
I'm a caregiver for developmentally and intellectually disabled adults in Albany Oregon, I am on the street dealing with this population daily and I can attest to your statement, but there definitely is specific cases that must be addressed in a case by case situation.
I think our society needs to reconsider mental asylums again.

Prayers for your niece. A parole officer just lost his life by a sex offender that he was supervising during a visit.

When I was on probation, if it was a female agent, they'd send them in pairs to my house at 5am. They were pretty cute too, tbh.
Becare full last year 6 female parole officers in total were raped during home visits.

Some people need a halfway house and some people need the whole house .. this vato needs the whole house
😂😂😂 So true tho
😂😂😂😂 right right
The whole house appears to be where they are attempting to send him but there is no bed availability. I’ll tell you this, if that lawyer thinks it’s unlikely that there isn’t a bed in the State in a halfway house that will take him she has obviously never tried to find a bed for one of these persons. Long term beds are very few and availability is spotty at best. Halfway houses where the situation is less secure and the staff are not going to have the facilities nor the staff to deal with a non-compliant and aggressive client are going to be very reluctant to accept him.

Either they don’t like the way the meds make them feel, like foggy or sluggish.
Or they’re so sick that they believe the meds are poison being thrust upon them by the government.
And sometimes the meds work so well that they feel they’re all better and don’t need them anymore.
Mr Newman seems agitated and paranoid. Whoever let him out on parole in the first place hadn't grasped that hewasn't ready.

So, now us non-crazy taxpayers have to pay to coddle “mentally ill” people in five star hotels or something? It’s simple, break the law go to prison. Stay in prison.
Getting sick of having to constantly pay for people who just want everything handed to them because they’re “mentally ill”.
I agree with his lawyer. Because some one is mentally ill they should not be put in jail. This country closed most mental hospitals so the mentally ill live in jail. Open the mental hospitals for anericans who need them. They are given their meds in hospitals and many times when they are on their medication you would be amazed how different they are. Yeah we clearly need them. All it takes is a look around in the year 2024! Also, in this touchy-feely era it seems strange that we still use the term SMI (seriously mentally ill). When we throw around language like that we can expect people to be offended. There's an obvious stigma behind it, I just feel like we could use a better choice of words.
@@michaeljohnston4459oh, we found mr touchy feely.
Because there is no money to be made in making people well. The money is made by keeping people in jail. As long as the jails are full, private companies make profit off of those inmates. Those people need to LEARN how to "DESCALATE" these situations, not "ARGUE" with these people!!!😡😡🤬

Some of the behaviors can be from high or low blood sugars. They often stare off like a deer caught in headlights with low sugars and can slur words and appear intoxicated, confused. Often with high sugar they become aggressive. It's sad I wish he would take his metformin. He does have very clear mental health issues too. He needs hospitalized indefinitely not prison so he can receive the care he needs and keep the community safe. He's in a lose lose situation he needs insulin or metformin but because of paranoia from the mental health he is scared to take it.
i called for an ambulance one time for low sugars. because i was stumbling, had slurred speech, my youngest son thought i was drunk. the emt corrected him and told him my sugar was too low. on occasion where my blood sugar dropped very low, i experienced cognitive deficits: it literally made it much harder to think and my vision can get very blurry. i never experienced aggressive behavior with high blood sugar; not sure that happens, especially not 'often.' i did some research and didnt find that as a symptom.

This is the result of closing residential mental health facilities in the 1970s. Now the prison system (a for-profit system) is filled with people better served by a mental health commitment rather than a stay in prison.
Instead of being placed in a facility where he can be treated the choices come down to imprisonment with inappropriate levels of mental health treatment or release into the community where innocent citizens are exposed to this obviously dangerous individual.
The lack of systemic competency is astonishing. It's now come down to a checklist with options that don't address the actual issues. Even this hearing is nothing but an example of pro-forma, fill in the blanks adudication.
This is the best I've read . Intelligent and true.
But the ones that were closed were the State ran tax-payer funded ones. The Private residential ones still are operating and have been for decades. As for the Insulin, my mom and I had to pull my grandma out of the hospital (she had a broken hip) because they continued to inject her w/Insulin.

She happily lived another 18 yrs, 89yr old, insulin free, by just watching her diet.
ok a little clarification is needed: insulin does not yet come in a pill; that solution is being worked on by medication companies. she probably got metformin from her doctor; it is the common first treatment for high sugars. it is not the same thing as insulin. if she had intolerable side effects i can understand wanting to stop a med. ur grandmother is very lucky that changing her diet made her sugars stable.

They were supposed to have an attorney present for his parole hearing but they failed him, which means he has to wait (nearly two weeks longer) and that’s illegal. They are behaving criminally and he’s telling them that he’s being abused and assaulted in jail and that his PO is a “maniac” and fabricating lies against him, but they don’t care and continue to violate his rights.
And his PO, Lindsey allowed the abuse to happen to this man, which is why he hates her.
I love his honesty
I would agree a lot of what he is saying about the halfway house is true.
Hes psycho..
Sounds like a “HOOPLLAAAAA” 😂 first time I heard someone say the word from SpongeBob
As crazy as he is, inmates have a right to refuse medical treatment in most situations, including medications.
That’s why jail is the answer. Because WE have the right time be protected from him.
"I have 2 ears and a brain, thank you" 🤣
If I were Linsey I would move outta the country 😳 I fear for her life.
Just because this man assertively speaks his mind & is fighting hard for his rights, doesn't mean he's threatening. I believe him when he says folks are lying as I heard it for myself.
Look at his crimes! He is dangerous.
Thanks Mandoo. You all ways bring interesting cases forward for us.😮
I'm so sorry, but when he signed off with F U Lindsey, I lost it. 😆😆😆😆😆😆
🤣
Holly shit this man isn’t bad looking without all the hair
Yeah not bad looking but he’s gained a lot of weight:
He needs to go to either a halfway house or a medical facility where he can get the care that he needs. He needs supervision because of how combative he is.
Imagine what the staff of that care facility dealt with day in and out.
This guy is NONCOMPLIANT!!! He needs to be in jail.
28:53 i carry a whole glock while im in the house 😂😂😂😂😂
Really? Damn. That’s sad!
Insulin is not a reason to lock up anyone, ever. I’m about 20 minutes in and he really shouldn’t be in custody at this point.
If he can't manage out in the community that don't release him unless you absolutely have to
I grew up not far from where he is…. It’s so scary knowing there are people like this roaming around right now. I know he’s mentally ill but this man is dangerous. He needs help and to not be out until he’s fully stabilized and compliant!
Isnt it evident that he needs a male parole officer?
As an RN, know quite a bit about medications and also the paperwork required at discharge. A very specific piece of the paperwork is the Medication Reconciliation page. And what the doctor writes on that is what the patient is to take at home after discharge. In this case it was Depakote (I think) and Metformin.
If doc didn't write for Insulin, then he's NOT to take insulin.
Metformin is a medication that controls diabetes. I believe , from what David says the doctor or nurse must have explained this to him, because he kept saying " I take insulin in a pill now." They should not have been attempting to try and give him insulin along with the metformin, because the doc specifically did not put on his discharge papers. Had they given him both, it may very well have been toxic ; he could have suffered low blood sugar.
Now this is a case of home care staff not being trained in certain areas. Maybe they've not been taught about the discharge med paperwork and what it means .
And obviously they didn't know about Metformin.
And that's part of the problems with residential care. Maybe they don't have a nurse on call to assist them in the understanding of such things.
Before I became a nurse, I worked with people who were afflicted with mental illness plus those with developmentally delayed. And I learned that if you listened hard enough or long enough, you might finally see a nugget of truth in what they're saying.
This patient opens his mouth and all that seems to come out is abusive, crazy talk. Very hard to even listen to anything he says. And yet , he actually had that nugget of truth buried in there somewhere...
I wish i had his medical data. I'd refuse a "toxic" level of insulin too. I have refused my evening insulin at hospitals because i wasn't eating a normal amount. I hate to side with the guy but a diabetic knows how much insulin is too much. Too much will give you seizures. Hell, as a t1d i have a couple of seizures a month with a dexcom and pregabalin.
Yes I clocked that too. Also depakote is also a seizure medication which I find interesting. Were they giving it to him to prevent a seizure due to concerns of too much insulin? Then taken off depakote since he's taking oral insulin and no longer also taking injection?
Ok that’s fair
@@hiddenhand6973 but just on the insulin. I'm not backing him on anything else
Attacked a police dog! Special kind of crazy for sure!
He's got legit complaints. He just got railroaded.
Yep
Says the crazy inmate. 😮
@@lindaquinlan1471 says you, who are? A nobody.
Agree
No, he doesn’t. No, he didn’t. You must be a criminal too
wow I believe him and my heart is broken. Abusive parents have WAY TOO MUCH POWER
Remember Misery?... he reminds me of a male Kathy Bates! 😅🤯
Idk about everyone else in the comments, and yes dude is a little rough around the edges, but his POS parole officer did indeed call him crazy, and that’s not right
I call myself crazy but I'm just quirky with a touch of cptsd and bipolar...oh and t1d.
How did she call him crazy? How did she word it?
@@tammicomeau3757 i forget now. But I am pretty sure he is called crazy. He is also calling Lindsey a lot of names.
@@hicknopunkhe's never called crazy it says he has schizophrenia and other issues. Lady just said he has mental health issues
@kickrox5487 It was actually his defense lawyer that he was accusing of calling him crazy and she never used that term at any time, she said his behavior was a result of his mental health problems. So tell me exactly what other way she should have said it for all the snowflakes out there like yourself who can't even listen and accuse the wrong person.
Well, we see why he is in jail and please don't let him out
I am sorry but it's funny when he kept swearing at Lindsey .The serious side is she needs to be protecting herself. After seeing that case of a po being killed recently .This guy is not safe to be let out
I am thrilled I do not live anywhere near this man!
