      @@horse-lover68 Hunting with dogs is common place in every nation and culture across the planet. Used to be very popular in Scotland and wales before the ban but hunting with dogs is still practiced in france, USA, Canada and spain, though not always on horseback. No nation can claim hunting, like no nation can claim fishing or archery.

      @@lmonk9517 No not with a pack of dog's and 30 horses. You don't know what you are talking about. It has be not illegal but nobody does it!! I am 55 and I never saw this animal torture in Austria!! The oposite rider's and hunter's are often in a war because the hunter's say we are to loud with the horses. In some places we have to pay the hunt for the allowance to ride through public property. NOWHERE in Europe is the hunt such a bunch of sadistic coward's. You are doing the same with ducks, shooting 2000 a day- for what?? Soon you will not have any wildlife anymore.
      Leave nature alone!!

    • @lmonk9517
      @lmonk9517 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@horse-lover68 It's not animal torture this is how animals hunt in the wild, nobody accuses bears, wolves and lynx of torture because they chase down their prey. I don't know how they hunt in Austria but I would imagine the mountainous terrain would make hunting with horses too dangerous. Falconry is legal everywhere including austria and that is basically the same thing. hunting with dogs or hunting with hawks its very natural. In fact it is the most natural.
      People have pet cats that catch birds and rodents. Are these people also torturers, ?should we ban cats that, collectively kill millions of animals a year? or is it just dogs that are evil?
      I have never heard of ducks being shot in the UK. doesn't seem very common to me. mostly it is pheasants or partridges that are shot. maybe ducks very rarely.

      @@lmonk9517dont be ignorant. Fox hunters hunt for sport, animals hunt for food, there is a clear difference. Furthermore, anyone who is not a psycho wouldn't let a cat hunt mice and rats knowingly. Hunting doesn't make cats or dogs evil, it makes them normal animals. Humans however, have the ability to do better.

    I have had a conversation with an Alliance party elected representative on this issue. We didn't reach any common ground. As someone else commented, the Angler hit the nail on the head. If is the thin end of a wedge - United we stand, divided we fall.
    Well done Charlie and all at Fieldsports Britain for an excellent piece of reporting.

    I joined the Alliance Party and have subsequently left the party over this matter. What it has shown me is that those who wish to stand for Alliance are then subjugated to its views and policies, potentially at the cost of their own beliefs. Most of all, the Alliance Party DOES NOT represent anyone who feels that Northern Ireland should be a shared space with mutual respect and understanding, rather it appears to be an urban party for urban people who don't understand or care at all about the countryside that makes up the biggest part, geographically at least, of Northern Ireland.

    I'm down with hunting. I used to live in SA and work as a game ranger. But, hunting predators is a bad idea, as a means of control it doesn't work. It leads to a deeply unhealthy ecosystem. The population of predators is a signal of the health of your ecosystem. The British ecosystem is not healthy, and killing more of its few remaining predators because they kill a few lambs, is a terrible idea in the long term.

    Nice to see that the NI Assembly have thrown this out.
    Blair is a typical Woke Alliance politician who is in the pocket of the League Against Cruel Sports.
    Titterington is far too restrained.
    Blair is a former member of DAERA Inland Fisheries who have effectively banned salmon and sea trout fishing in Northern Ireland. He has form in banning things related to field sports.

    We don't hunt for entertainment! It's gory and nasty. We hunt for conservation, to control over-breeding, and restore balance to the food chain. Some animals are impossible to control with-out dogs. There is no life without the death of other life! Get used to it, or go eat solent green!

    As a Outdoorsman myself, I do not agree with Fox hunting using dogs. It's not like how in new Zealand they use boar hounds to track wild boar, it's cruel. And it 8/10 times isn't a clean death for the aul sionnach. Now, I am also a conservationist. Animals like foxes have no natural predator in Ireland (because our wolves, lynxes and bears are extinct) and they (along with mink and cats and some intensive farming practices) often destroy populations of ground nesting birds such as northern lapwings (the national bird of Ireland), grey partridge, corncrake (only nests on Irelands offshore islands now), Skylarks even the mighty Hen Harrier and many more. Foxes can put severe pressure on these species who raise their young on the ground. But foxes should be killed by means of bullet, bolt even arrows are a quicker and more humane death than death by dogs. I have killed many a fox myself, but it was always quick and near instant. This is just my personal opinion though

  • @tidge879
    @tidge879 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Instead of using dogs to hunt the foxes, you can use dogs to protect the flocks. In Turkey we use a dog called a Kangal to live with sheep flocks and protect them from wolves. These dogs are now being taken as strays and sent to the US to live with cow herds.
