"History youtube viewers try not to give Germany and Hungary extra land" challenge: impossible
Can only speak for hungary, but being left at a historic low point there is only upward from there
I like how they're trying to make a realistic scenario out of the viewers cooking (they were, in fact, NOT COOKING)
They were setting the oven on fire as a matter of fact
The PRC being Taiwanned into Mongolia is very funny
I once played an alternate history forum game where the Axis won WWII and the Soviets were reduced in power. Imperial Japan still ruled much of China, so Mao fled to... Tannu Tuva
If only I had a nickel for every time I saw an althist map with Hungary having Northern Transylvania....
@9_9876 yeah, true. People making maps or voting on polls like this are like "Oh, yeah, Hungary had those borders for like 4 years in WW2, so let's give them a territory which has both today and had back then more than half of the population ethnic Romanians."
@@9_9876 A lot of border changes after the end of WW2 also made zero geographic or ethnic sense, with the outcome merely being ethnic cleansing as took place for instance in formerly Polish territories now in Ukraine or formerly German land now in Poland. I think it's fine to make an alt-history scenario where the same thing happened which took place in our history.
@@xRed47while you have a strong point, cant shake the feeling that such borders aren't the worse option. While what was decided uppon isn't the best either. The issue is after so long it makes no sense to have such rash border changes happen. And at the same time without any changes Hungary and its people finds little peace of mind on the matter
@@Argacyanyou forgot about Holmshchina and other Ukrainian lands in Poland which was cleansed too.
Rare case of possiblehistory viewers not giving half of the Europe to Poland
But still giving Poland a lot of Ukrainian and Belarusian territory. In this context, it pretty much is half of Europe.
"The collapse of a superpower is rarely peaceful, especially one that is nuclear armed like the soviets were."
🤓 ackshually the only example of a nuclear superpower collapsing is the soviets, thus 100% of nuclear superpowers who collapsed did so peacefully, thus it's not rarely peaceful at all.
Britain and France collapsed (atleast their empires did) and that was NOT peaceful
To be fair, can we really consider Russian nukes to be valid weapons? We've seen what their "state of the art battleships" are like.
This is finally out after so long tf
@@IdanGhengis everybody calling a regional war in one continent, a world war is kind of hilarious people be itching for something to happen.
These countries are invading each other like they are doing some normal trade💀
After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, they still did normal trade for some time
I see now that the reason this took so long was because of how difficult it must have been to make a sensible scenario out of this madness.

Have you considered doing a viewer vote on decolonization? I know that’s a much larger scale than these usually are but you could focus on places where there was a struggle between the pro-U.S./pro-USSR/Non-aligned movements.
"... and then, the Soviets invaded Poland and Romania" took me by surprise! Idk why, but for a moment I forgot this was Altenative History hahahhaa
Yay it’s finally here. You must’ve been working really hard on it. I remember Answering the questions quite some time ago
I love the "Germany's army was not created for offensive actions and was relatively small" bit, since in reality their Army was geared for elastic defense & rapid offensives, on top of having the *largest* army on the continent right after the Soviets.
More of these please! Suggestion: Voting For monarchs restorations
The final map looks like post- WW1 map with extra steps
Thanks For this! Enjoyed the voting! Thanks For all your hardwork 😊😊😊
Well, that roleplay seems so good
My suggestion of poll: Viewers do the 1848 Revolutions going well
For the occupation zone, you should use thise red lines for unrecognized borders
So, who else is carefully studying the alliances, treaties, war aims, military strengths, and economic situations of all the relevant countries in order to make reasonable guesses for this newest poll?
... Anyone? Anyone?
... We're going to see massive dog-piling on Russia and Taisho Japan acting like Showa Japan, aren't we?
Next video: "how my viewers created a cold war between the new global superpowers Switzerland and Liechtenstein"
“And their uneasy relations with the other new superpowers of Luxembourg and Monaco”
We need a “what if sun yat sen’s china survived”. Would be super nice :)
Super epic video! Some possible next steps:
1) Japanese reconquest of Sakhalin, largely uncontested
2) EEC reforms into EU
- All of Western and Northern Europe (except Norway, Germany, Switzerland, and micro states join)
- Czechoslovakia, Poland, Slovenia, and Baltic States as partial members until economies up to speed
- Joint defence pact stronger than as written in current EU & emphasis on military spending on standing armies a requirement
3) EU invasion of Kaliningrad to eliminate the old communist hard liners as a threat
- Kaliningrad then renamed to Konigsberg and returned to Germany; in return, Germany returns conquered territory to Poland
- Germany allowed into EU subsequently
4) Istria transferred to Slovenian control to permit port access
5) War breaks out again in Baltics, as Serbs living in Bosnia seek to take power and reintegrate with Serbia; EU (with NATO support) intervenes to support
- Belgrade regime swiftly taken down, and new pro-EU government established
- Serbia/Bosnia/Montenegro unified into a new Yugoslav state, with EU membership being sought
6) Greek economy in tatters sees far right government come to power, seeking to unify Macedonia, and reconquer Greek land lost during 20th century, including in Anatolia and Cyprus
- tensions rise between Greece and Bulgaria & Turkey, where many fear war will break out
7) UN recognition of new states and borders sees Finland make permanent their reconquest of Karelia; new Central Asian states recognized, Japanese ownership of Sakhalin, German control of Konigsberg (Prussia); and Mongolian territorial increase all universally accepted as Moscow, seeking to hold on to what they have, does not challenge these
8) India, now the most populous country, has seen rapid economic growth and has become a top-3 arms exporter during this time as industrial growth has propelled them into a industrializing nation
- starts investing in development projects in Africa and is seeing its global influence increase
- granted a permanent seat on UN Security Council
- secures control over Kashmir, and signs a permanent peace treaty with Pakistan
- India provides assurances that it will defend the territorial integrity of all states in its sphere of influence, including Pakistan, Tibet, Central Asia (including Turkestan), much to the consternation of the Beijing government
I think that Japan would go for kurils instead of Sakhalin, because Kurils are mostly empty islands with a few exceptions, rather than Sakhalin where there's a few quite populated Russian cities. Same with Kaliningrad, because there's not a single german in that city, literally no one speaking german, also there's no point in giving this to Germany, because they will get to EU anyway after just giving up polish territories. Same again with Finnish gains, there's literally like 5 villages where some people still speak Karelian at that point, and any major city is Russian only, i don't think Finland would like having a few hundred thousands of angry Russians in their country. And Kazakhstan probably would collapse because with all of their gains Kazaks don't have even 50% majority in their country, probably about 38% or something
I liked the style of your earlier viewer votes more where there was no timeline, maybe 2 separate videos could be made, one for the timeline and one counting the votes
Tbh i think that with the joint effort of Poland, Czechoslovakia and Romania against the USSR, their relationships would get really good and they could maybe establish the Intermarium ( as an military and economic aliance ) and invade Hungary together and maybe even invite Ukraine into the aliance
Finally my favorite type of series, trying to somehow justify the choices made by viewers
I love how we all collectively forgot about how he was supposed to make a modern empires video
You can just tell the viewers did it, with or without context.
I've been in enough of these things to know it all goes downhill
Viewers always give Finland everything possible
Video idea: what if Frederick III lived longer?
I always wonder what Germany's foreign policy would have looked like under Frederick III.
(I know a lot of people or should I say MOST people seem to think that the Kaiserreich would be more "liberal" under Frederick III instead of Wilhelm II, BUT would he turn the Kaiserreich into a liberal constitutional monarchy? Not really, people often forget that Frederick's Liberalism is quite unclear.)

@@adamelghalmi9771yeah, the 1700’s update was a sad day for all the Ottoman Empire players
You need to do a theoretical version where it is the collapse of the first world, or if the central powers somehow won ww1
I just want to say that the audience participation polls are great fun, and thank you 👍
Despite criticism and lack of realism, I think this is a cool scenario
I know this isn't supposed to be realistic, but I wanted to say something.
I personally believe that Eastern Galicia would be given to Ukraine, or more likely the Ukrainians in the region revolting against the Polish to join Ukraine because of Soviet deportation of much of the Polish population in Eastern Galicia.
It took me 10 minutes to realize that you weren't giving a history lesson before going on to the point of the scenario where the viewers intervened. I did think it was a little absurd that Germany invaded Poland again. The 80s would've been way more interesting, if that happened.
To a degree. But the German army was the second biggest in NATO. Poland fighting in the East against the Soviets just would have been crushed.
At the same time, no in that army would have wanted this, so it's a wash either way.
Here is an interesting scenario: what if Britain never did the Galipoli campaign and instead invaded the kiel area?
That is really intresting scenario, and I would love to see part 2.

YAAAAY FINALLY HEERE!!! :D Been excited to see the results! :D
What I think would make for a really interesting video is what if the 1830 revolution didn't happen (or the Bonapartists or Royalists). It would cause major change in French Politics, possibly alarming the other European powers more and creating a sense of scepticism toward the French.
I missed the vote again, but this video is prolly gonna be fire. Hold for judgement
The vote was quite some time ago so I’m sure many people missed it
Yo, I did the form for this a while ago, glad to see the video is finally up!
Finally, I remember voting like a month or two ago
The voting thing was like 5 months ago, and now we can see how everyone voted on this new world!
It’s finally here!!
Also for the record I didn’t vote for anything to be given to Hungary
1. With Taiwan now Chinese, the Americans are wary of the chance of Chinese expansion into the Pacific.
1-1. They negotiate Korean and Japanese goodwill by getting them to recognize the Japanese claim on the Senkaku islands and the Korean claim on the Dokdo islands mutually, settling any future territorial disputes between them and founding a tie for military cooperation.
1-2. The newly independent Dali nation joined the ASEAN. And America now backs ASEAN in its goal to form a coalition similar to the EU, to counterbalance the future Chinese expansion into the region.
Something tells me that Hungary is not going to be able to hold on to that territory for very long as soon as the Soviets start to collapse internally...
That is idiotic, They only gained Ethnically Hungarian land, that wouldn't cause problems. Much more different than Soviet
@@ErickTriton I didn't necessarily mean _internal_ pressure. I meant more that as soon as the Soviets are distracted, Romania and Czechoslovakia are 100% going to seize back that land, and Hungary won't be able to fight both of them at once

Up until the Hungarian gains in Slovakia and Transylvania I thought this was an actual real war that happened in 1992
What if after WW1 the communists recaptured Poland and the Baltics and the communists also win in the Finnish civil war
Wow, that’s crazy, would’ve never guessed that’s how it happened:0
Please make a what if everything went perfect for italy
Finally, took you long enough
I'd just point out if everyone was dogpiling on Russia, Japan would retake the Kuril Islands and possibly Sakhalin.
As a Czech I see that as victory ,of course southern Slovakia is lost but ,hey Czechoslovakia got some territories from Poland and Soviets… Victory
"Southern Slovakia" which is actually Upper Hungary isn't a loss for the slovaksy Ethnically Hungarian terretory
Possible History Viewers being unbiased reasonable people who understand how revolts work challange
Man not even the Taiwanese want to unify with China that is such funny larp on the voter's part

Please make a "what id everything went perfect" video for Ukraine. I think her history is quite interesting for that situation, there are many divergences and different outcomes, so in my opinion it would make an interesting video.
Hell Yeah. I just finished all of the episodes in this series and the new drops.
What if the Netherlands remained part of the Holy Roman Empire?
What if the Abbasid Caliphate survived the Mongol invasions?
What if the Frankish Empire tried conquering Muslim Spain?

What if the Europeans never discovered the Americas?
What if Persia conquered the Eastern Roman Empire?
What if the Mongols conquered Constantinople?
I suggest in another this type of video with viewers voting you should at the end tell how do you perceive this timeline and how realistic in your opinion this scenario is
_If PossibleHistory has patreon, patrons should be able to vote on what should be the next video!_
Just put my vote in for the next video.
HELL YEAH ITS FINALLY HERE!!
I feel like, for the sake of fairness, we should do a viewer vote on the collapse of the United States and it's allies.
In this timeline, I imagine large and prolonged ethnic conflicts in China, especially as this would happen early into the economic reforms and before they are fully solidified as the worlds factory. Korea likely has to give up chinese holdings unless the USA intervenes and will need stimuluous as they stagnate to integrate North korea. I expect the USA to allow the new regimes to hunt political prisoners and a policy of supporting the sepratist groups of China until they are stable. As for russia and Eastern europe, I imagine more wars and an impotent russia. Finland may try to keep the territory unless russia intervines. Romania and Hungary would be at war, and the multitude of border disputes would be an issue for poland. If it's settled through diplomacy, likely some amount of border disputes are solved but to nobody's satisfaction and divided economic and diplomatic blocks with a possible german split from Western europe. The war path is hard to say as right after the collapse resources would be scarce. Whoever the USA backs will likely win my money is on Hungary being punished, germany being forced to peace, and poland ending up smaller. East europe is just a massive quagmire for years before stablity is reached, and honestly, it's anyone's game with the USA being a kingmaker of sorts.
NEVER let Possible History viewers cook.
What if Francisco Morazan's Centroamerica succeeded and managed to stay united.
Tension absolutely had not subsided even a bit by the 80s, in fact the 1983 Able Archer exercise was one of the times the two superpowers got closest to nuclear war
I was bouta pay my ransom to the kgb but this came out so I gotta watch
The viewers did NOT cook with this one. (I want to gouge my eyes out)
Goddayum this more outlandish than russian dreams of a 3 day ukraine war
Invasion Kazakhstan in Russia was then impossible. At least because at the time of 1991, the Slavs constituted the majority with Germans in Kazakhstan , ahh viewers.
I’ve wanted to see this scenario for years
Since I've seen a lot of confusion in the comment - remember I did NOT come up with these borders, and this video is not meant to be realistic. This was based on a vote done by the viewers - the outcome of which were the maps at the end. I simply tried (and it was very difficult, hence the long wait for this video) to create some form of narrative that could justify it.
Yep, this was the only one so far I voted in.
And safe to say I had equal regard for the consequences as a colonial power when I was playing around with all the pretty little lines :3.
I think it would be good to mark clearly in your videos the point where it derives into alt history. Somebody might watch this video and go "oh, there was this war in the 90s? Dont remember it but must be true!"
Of course I am pleased with the increase in territory in the west, but what about the increase in territory in the east of Kazakhstan? Why only the Russian side, and what about China?
When was this voted on
