Was really nice watching you working on this engine. Didn't know they were branded as Duratec in Europe, here in Brazil they were sold as Zetec Rocam. Also, I never replaced the entire alternator bracket as it is quite expensive. I usually only replace the little pulleys. These engines are known for overheating because of the bad plastic parts Ford used on the cooling system. Replacing the thermostat housing with the aluminium one is a really common "modification". We never had the sportKa here. Our "sporty" one was the Ka XR, it had a nice side skirt, but didn't had the same bumpers as these.
@@Retrospek yes, there are aftermarket pulleys and tensioner available. These engines were pretty much the "standard" Ford engine on all Brazilian models in the 2000s. Especially the 1.0l version.
Fantastic video, you've earned a sub! I adore every version of the KA, especially the Streetka, and am always searching for KA-related content. Superb and comically editing at times in this video were much appreciated!
my mother had one and it was always a problem maker this car i heated it was rust free cause it was a car from Greece i sold it 1000 euros with non running engine at some point after a 3 years of constant repairs and services . good luck man :') great edit!
i've read snd heard similar stories and i rally hope after all the maintnance and upgrades it'll be reliable. but a rust free ka is an absolut unicorn. i must start shopping for cars in greece and spain
Thank you for the kind words. i really wanted to have this series go online in quick succession but life kind of got in the way... i will return to editing, hopefully soon.
Man, you had to get creative to navigate through that tight engine bay. It's a pleasure watching you work !. keep em coming
Being skinny was an actual advantage this time around. Thank you for the kind words, much love ♥️

Were the Pulleys replaceable in the brazilian version?

Hey, I like your style of videos, great skill and humor :) When will the next part come?
Thank you for the kind words. i really wanted to have this series go online in quick succession but life kind of got in the way... i will return to editing, hopefully soon.
@@Retrospek I understand, but great that new parts will come, I´m looking forward.
I didn't know they made a sporty version of the Ka, this is going to be interesting. Great editing as always!
They did and these have all the problems you might expect from a KA, this thing is a gift that keeps on giving.
Thanks ♥️
Yeah a 1.6 they are quite fun I've had loads of them softtop and hard top removable
By the looks of it, you're gonna need plenty of welding material, and plenty of copper slip... Power on.
i sure do!
I just love ford Ka's. I own 2 Ford Ka Collections. Wow the people abused this Sportka.
this one had a rough life indeed
It seems like you replaced a bunch of parts not yet worn out.
yeah, part of preventative maintenance.
Also i have no service history...
You must keep your sense of humour 😂…… or it’ll be soul destroying 😵💫😉💪🏼
that's so true
If that car could speak, it would still not speak and prefer to be silent about what it has seen.
"The Horror..."
Salted roads should be banned. It ruins cars and such destruction is not good for the environment. Find some other way to clear roads.
I Agree.
In germany you are forbidden from using salt for de icing on your own property, yet the government is allowed to salt the roads, go figure.
Waste of money for a car chassis in that bad of a condition and that old but if you want to waste the money I guess so.
no risk no fun
@@Retrospek So many better things to spend on and get better results... But if this floats your boat, all the power to you.
It's a fun revival of a car looked fondly upon by many in Europe. One day, these cars will be desirable classics.
