After watching this we can see that our Scag Cheetah was NOT assembled correctly by the AgPro “dealer” and it explains why one of the front wheels FELL OFF (after only 6 months owning it) while I was operating the mower! 😳. I can’t find ANYONE in our area competent enough to help and this video has a real LIFE SAVER! Thank you!
i know i'm late to the party but all scags should come mostly pre-assembled, at least the casters are from my experience. the only thing a dealer does is install the seat, oil, check the air in the tires, install the control arms, connect the battery, etc.
Thanks for the video. When I took my wheel off all the parts just fell out! Bearings were gone and had no idea what went where! Then I could not find my manual 🤷🏼♂️
good video any reason that you put the bolt axle in from the opposite side that you took it out of? I always prefer the nut on the inboard side in case the wheel rubs up against something it doesn't damage the threads. I'm sure you noticed that and switched it back.
On this machine as new the bolts slide in from underneath and the nut goes on top. There is a little extra bolt length so the threads would be all gunked up if I put the nut on the grass side.
I bought it with the 3 bagger collection system. When those baggers are full of wet grass or leaves it's very heavy. I don't use the collection system at present because I found it's simply easier to mulch everything in the fall. But the weights sit on the machine as that's a home spot for them.
Just what I was looking for! Please change title to " scag *** wheel bearing replacement". You may get more hits. I am in the process of replacing the bearings and associated parts in my tiger cat. Worst part is going to be cleaning out original grease from 1500 hour machine. Thanks
would be helpful to know the size socket you used to tap in the grease seal. none of mine fit and I have to buy one at the local auto parts store so the size of that socket would have been helpful.
The bearings and spacer should stick out a little. As you tighten the axle bolt spin the tire until the tire binds from the pressure, then back off the bolt pressure until the tire rotates freely. Then your done.
@@vancecousin7166 stationery. The only thing that turns is the rim. The bearing tightens up on the outside lips. The inner bearing will spin freely, providing the bolt it not over tightened. So I spin the tire and tighten the bolt. When the tire stops spinning loosen the nut a little to get the tire rotating freely. Then the tire job is done.
I bought replacement wheels from an ebay seller. Go partstree.com look up the bearing you need them with that part number either buy from they or hunt for a cheaper deal
Spin the tire and tighten the wheel. When the tire stops spinning that means your too tight so back it off a little. Unless there is a specific method, the old method I speak of and shown works just fine.
@@007connecticut no its a type that once you got the nut off the bolt should just slide out . It stuck in there pretty good . Tried turning it and losing . Wouldn't come out any further . I gave up after I used a sledgehammer to try and hit it out . Even that didn't work 😂
Just remove that axle bolt and it falls apart. No serious tools required. Screwdriver, couple wrenches and rags, lots of rags because of the grease. Thanks
As a woman doing her own maintenance on her own zero turn I want to thank you for making this video it was very helpful.

Good luck with the repair.

Your dealer wouldn’t have done that. Scag messed up.

Excellent video! Your detailing of the inner components was really cool and helpful!
Thanks for the video. It cleared up some questions I had as I was installing some flat free wheels.
Very well made video, appreciate your detailed information

Good video I have one question. What are you pulling with that zero turn that you need so much forward weight .

Great video sir !
Keep up the good work!😊
Thank you.
Thank you. Do you know that the gas homeowner Kabotas Z series has no zirk fitting? Cheap made.
I didn't know, but yeah a whole $1 in savings in their pocket.
Should the wheel float on the bolt with a little space on each side while on the unit?

So is the spacer suppose to spin on the bolt or be stationary@@007connecticut

@@007connecticut thanks I figured it was stationary
I have a front wheel dragging, probably need new wheel bearings, and will probably get new bolts too.
Grease up the wheel, and loosen that bolt by 1/4 turn. Might be too tight
Where did you find the part im just looking to replace the bearings not everything

We turn our wheel sideways to it hit better. Ty
Trying to find how to repack my grasshopper will bearings on a zero turn

I've been putting wd403 beating that shit with a hammer and the bolt still won't come out . Lmao
Impact gun for the win

Showing how you disassembled it would have answered my question. Good vid otherwise

Wtf man, you did not show how to replace the tire. Fucking clickbait.
he did, see first part, then last part.
