The reason to have faith in today's cruel world is that kind people like your mom and dad. Please let them know every day how kind and blessed they are by opening their hearts and doors to you guys.
Mother DeAnna you are such amazing mother! If there were more people like you, this world would be a better place and you raise such an amazing kids, my dear Hailyn, love you ❤
I like yr story. I am also kind of adapted in Ethiopia now I am living USA and have two kids and beautiful wife . But background is affecting my current life . If I talk to you I will be happy . Blessed
Hailyn, you are such a brave, gorgeous young woman! I appreciate your struggle to stick to your Ethiopian heritage and culture. Your adoptive mom is also a brave one in how she tried to connect you to your unique Ethiopian heritage. It needs some courage for both of you to come up with such issues in public. Hopefully, it gives insights into what adoptees go through. Thank you! Keep Shining, and still, you have time to embrace your beautiful Ethiopian Identity, including the faith you were born in. Ethiopian Orthodox is not just a faith but it embeds the culture and heritage in it.
Thank you so much! I'm truly blessed to embrace both cultures. I'll be sharing some incredible stories that have given me deep insights into various adoption journeys. My hope is that whether you're adopted or not, you'll find something meaningful in these stories. I really appreciate your support. (Stay tuned for Part 2 on Friday!)
I've seen both the positive and challenging experiences of adopted kids from Ethiopia. You're fortunate to have had the opportunity to do this with your adoptive mom, which reflects her kindness and nurturing nature. No matter how much adoptive parents try to make things right, the feelings and experiences of adoptees can be unique and complex. It's important to acknowledge that your feelings about the adoption process are valid. What you're doing is truly remarkable-you're giving a voice to those who were adopted, especially from Ethiopia, and they might see your journey and realize they're not alone. Great job, and I look forward to your next video! Fellow Ethiopian living in Washington DC area.
What you said is spot on-a lot of people don’t understand that adoption can be both good and challenging at the same time. I’m really excited to share the other stories because they’ve given me new perspectives beyond just my own and shown just how complex adoption can be. I truly appreciate your support!
Well, I was also at the airport when you guys arrived and remember some unknown people crying when they knew you were just arriving because of adoption! Thank’s Haylin for this beautiful story and can’t wait for 2nd part, so hurry up 😂😂!! I just loved watching and listening to both of you! MOM I just love you and admire you so much, I will always be thankful for all your love and hospitality during my exchange year.. You are just awesome ❤!!!
Hey! First of all thank you so much for sharing your story! We are both from the same orphanage! I do remember the father and son who ran the orphanage. I got adopted in 1997 from Ethiopia to Missouri. I currently reside in Colorado. I am looking forward to hearing more of your story! Keep your head up and stay strong!
Oh, how amazing! I’d love to connect with you-it's so exciting to find others from the same orphanage. We all have photos and memories from there, but haven’t always stayed connected. Thank you for your support, and let’s definitely keep in touch!
Thank you so much for your response! Yes, seriously, though we should create like a Facebook group or something, and then one day maybe in the future we can get a huge group together and go back home and do some sort of community service. Looking forward to more ideas and what we could do better Together. What is the best way to connect with you other than on here?
Mom, thank you so much for stepping up and raising our beautiful girl. Coming from Ethiopia, I’m filled with gratitude for how confident and beautiful she’s become, thanks to you. God bless you! I want to extend my hand to others just like you. After all, that’s the true beauty of life.
What a beautiful person is your mom. I can see how loving she is by the way she is talking to you now. Thank God that He put all six of you with this amazing family. ❤
This kind of DEEDS breaks so many barriers in our humanity regardless of race, religion, and region. THIS MAKES THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE. I am inspired by this mother. God bless you!
Exactly! I don’t know why people don’t get it. There is only one human race to me. It doesn’t matter if we are yellow, peach, dark, light skin. We all bleed the same and have the same organs and so on. Even in my own family, we have different shades of skin. I wish we all could get along in any part of the world. ❤❤❤

I just watched the video about your adoption journey, and I wanted to reach out to let you know how deeply moved I am by your story. Mum, your kindness, humility, and the love you’ve shown to my fellow Ethiopian are truly inspiring. It’s clear that you’ve created a beautiful and loving home, and it’s heartwarming to see the bond you all share. To Helen, I hope you know how special you are and how much you are loved. It’s really nice to know someone else who’s in the same boat and what your thoughts were about the whole adoption thing. By the way, your mom is the best! She was the only one that helped out my mom when I was living in Ethiopia.

I am amazed to watch this. This mother with her husband brought six children from Africa and gave them a better life . may the lord God bless and be with them all their life time . Thank you for the adoption.
Thank you and your mom for sharing such intimate experiences of life. I see you and your mom have a beautiful relationship and it is heart warming regardless of the ups and downs you may share with us on your next episode. One final thing, you are extremely beautiful, literally !!
It’s important to tell this story. Your mom seems like she was doing her best, maybe you guys can have a sit down conversation and that will help you let go of whatever wrong you experienced. You mentioned you experienced sexual abuse I pray God helps you heal! May God bless your family!
The girl needs to count her blessings in her lovely adoptive mother. We know Ethiopia and the struggles and suffering children in her situation go through. Ungrateful brat!!
It may seem that way, but we don’t know what situation could have complicated their relationship. Part of it could be the sexual abuse she experienced as a child. Things are more complex than they seem to others sometimes but there is always room for conversation and healing that would definitely help.
Thank you, sis for sharing your personal journey. Hopefully, you'll come back to Orthodox. By the way, your mom is a beautiful lady. Above all she is sincere.

This mom is amazing. She is an angel. You tried to provide love and all the best things you can provide to kids. It’s not easy adapting one let alone 6 children with complete different background. Parents do push their religion to their children because we all think our religion is the best. You want only the best to your children. Hailyn you are beautiful.

Wow just tears in my eyes..so so strong and beautiful..your mom is so amazing mom..she totally change my thoughts about skin colors which is all about how big hearts you have regardless 😍
Oh how I love your family!! Your mother is such a beautiful person. I no longer live in Heber or are a part of the religion you were raised in. But I have so many found memories of you all. You have grown up to be an amazing and inspiring woman. Thank you for sharing your story. Love you all.

ሰላም Hailyn I hope this message finds you well , I can see the tears you kept for so long, I am glad you are able to share your experiences and show your perspectives in the adoption journey, There was something in my mind that I keep asking myself, Thanks for sharing your ideas so I can find the answers.
That was definitely a great conversation. It is nice & uplifting to see a successful adoption stories for I've seen more than a handful of heartbreaking stories for Habesha & other African adopted kids in the US and some Scandinavian countries... Heartwarming stories give me hope for humanity. Thank you for sharing & God bless your large family.
Thank you for your support! In Part 2, we dive into the tougher aspects of our adoption journey but focus on how we’ve overcome the obstacles. I believe one of the issues is that we aren’t having enough of these difficult conversations within our families and communities, and we need to do better to break the cycle of abuse. I’m grateful to be in a healthy space where I can share my story alongside my mom.
I also hope worldwide adopted children from Ethiopia/ Africa would form a platform upon which they can share their experiences. Moreover, hope those in America, can make themselves get in touch with the existing Eth. community in America as well as Eth. I’m sure they would love to learn about their history, inheritance, identity, etc. to become very knowledgeable & well rounded to bridge the 2,3 Continents. I love/ respect you mom🙏💕💕
Wow this is a perspective I never thought I would get to hear. I can't imagine how hard it would be as a black kid to be adopted into mormon Utah. The identity crisis is so understandable! Your mom is so open to hearing about your lived experience it's beautiful to see.
Thank you so much for your feedback! In Part 2, we discuss more of complexities of adoption and abuse. Our goal was to showcase different perspectives and offer something positive for everyone to take away.
I wish Ethiopia was not poor country. I hope in the future, we can investigate and prosecute all the adoption agencies that committed crime and took advantage of those poor kids. But Hailyn, you are lucky to have such an amazing mom and family. Can’t wait for the coming episodes
Not all Ethiopia are poor it is just that government doesn't help the way USA government help their peoples for example a person want to go college need help right? So usa government help the needs so he can go college and graduate and get jobs also if a person have to pay for college doesn't have to pay full payments this person pay every months or years until pay all. The other one when you buy food or clothes here it is cheaper because government pay half of it but in Ethiopia government doesn't cover for us like Americans do. In USA if cloth sale for $100 ,$1000 would you buy it if government doesn't cover half of it?
We err and are not poor this all happen due to corrupted leaders for the beginning to today bc they took Ethiopian wealth to put forgiven countries including Haileselasie, any way they will pay off on their generation. But still this suffering still passing to our people Thank you for generous and wonderful good heart Americans.
@@bezuneshnigussie975 If Emperor Haileselasie had put his wealth in foreign countries, he would not have returned from exile after the invasion of Fascist Italy in 1935 - ‘40. He lived , ruled ,deposed , executed and buried in Ethiopia.
you are lucky to have a wonderful and tender heart mother, and full of love and compassion, I hope GOD will give her all her wish and peace the rest of her life. GOD bless both of you. from Ethiopia.
I am officially subscribed to your channel. Mom is an angel and the daughter is a beautiful soul, real Ethiopian gem. I am proud to belong to the people from the LAND OF ORIGIN. We all came from Ethiopia🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹.
By the way Ethiopia is not poor. It is rather naturally rich but have no time to explore and use its resources including its intellegent people due to contoversies created and given to us from time to time. I hope we can break this vicious cycle with the help of our Lord and Father in heaven in the near future.
Ethiopia is light of the world once the darknesss disperses away! It's because Ethiopia is enormous, huge, and so the enemy must paint Ethiopia as poor and weak as he would like other people to assume it is. Economic growth and prosperity are no meausure! True Wealth is in the life after because people liveon and eternity is endless, a lot longer than this illusion people can't comprehend. Ethiopia is rich! Ethiopia is the spiritual bigining of mankind and the guide to this misguided generation into the real life, life that has meaning than what the eye meets or what the mainstream media is! Reach out, find out, and read ancient ethiopian manuscripts such as the book of Enoch. Ethiopia is zion, and her enemy can only fabricate and propogate false narrative because Ethiopia represents the holy grail in knowledge to keep mankind alive even after we die..its where humanities spiritual information is stored that connects us to the very creator of the universe and beyond.
You are correct, The western leader never let Ethiopia or The Africa all breaks out of poverty or the war they initiated kept in mess course of that will be live under their Aid rather than using our natural resources . 31:49
Please don’t blame developed countries. Our leaders in Africa have failed their people. The people have the responsibilities to oust the worst leaders like Abiy Ahmed rather than following him a like herd of cows. We have to blame ourselves.
But Ethiopians r not innocent people they try to portray themselves as innocent but as an Eritrean. We see Ethiopian as the white colonisers all of sudden when it came to our genoucide the world is silent crickets. We have ungoing war because of them. And many children have become orphan and left disabled
What a beautiful, kind, and loving mother! It is such a NOBLE cause to adopt children and raise them. She did a great job raising an intelligent, beautiful, and loving children!

It’s not easy adapting one let alone 6 children with complete different background.
Parents do push their religion to their children because we all think our religion is the best. You want only the best to your children.
Hailyn you are beautiful.

An amazing storyteller and a wonderful mom ❤
You’re gorgeous 😍 thank you for sharing your story!
ሰላም Hailyn I hope this message finds you well , I can see the tears you kept for so long, I am glad you are able to share your experiences and show your perspectives in the adoption journey, There was something in my mind that I keep asking myself, Thanks for sharing your ideas so I can find the answers.
Thank you for the support!
Yes, that would be amazing! Thank you for the support!
You are lucky to have such wonderful mom!! Thank you for being amazing mom🙏🏻 Hayli you are such beautiful and brave young woman 💕
Wow what a great story God Bless you and your family ❤❤
Wow this is a perspective I never thought I would get to hear. I can't imagine how hard it would be as a black kid to be adopted into mormon Utah. The identity crisis is so understandable! Your mom is so open to hearing about your lived experience it's beautiful to see.
Thank you so much for your feedback! In Part 2, we discuss more of complexities of adoption and abuse. Our goal was to showcase different perspectives and offer something positive for everyone to take away.
What Blessed Woman
Are your mom
you’re lucky to have such a great family. God blessed the inter-family
8 min in and I’m already crying 😢 ❤ your mom!
Oooow beautiful mom and child this is really part of spiritual bless you more!!!❤
I wish Ethiopia was not poor country. I hope in the future, we can investigate and prosecute all the adoption agencies that committed crime and took advantage of those poor kids. But Hailyn, you are lucky to have such an amazing mom and family. Can’t wait for the coming episodes
Adoption from Ethiopia is banned now because the government took all those accountable into prison.
It is not because Ethiopia are poor it is just so expensive to buy everything.
We err and are not poor this all happen due to corrupted leaders for the beginning to today bc they took Ethiopian wealth to put forgiven countries including Haileselasie, any way they will pay off on their generation. But still this suffering still passing to our people
Thank you for generous and wonderful good heart Americans.

If Emperor Haileselasie had put his wealth in foreign countries, he would not have returned from exile after the invasion of Fascist Italy in 1935 - ‘40. He lived , ruled ,deposed , executed and buried in Ethiopia.
God bless your family. I wish your mum a happy and long life.

Africa has lost its integrity because of its leaders but it is very rich.
Amazing story God bless her for accepting all 6 family. I would love to do that one day.
This is really beautiful and heartwarming story thanks for sharing
