"western south carolina"
locals call it the lakelands (because of nearby lake greenwood), or maybe the upstate if you want to attach it to greenville.
I do like all the parks that have been added around greenwood, it really gives people a reason to walk outside. But not during summer time, SC summers are far from "mild"

It looks like a charming town but after researching it I noticed that the population dropped between 2010 and 2020. It also seems to have one of the highest crime rates of any town of any size in the United States.
