Hey there Louisa, its Katy again. Well, you sure know what to look for at a gem show!!! You did great, what a wonderful haul. Have fun and play with them all you like....thanks for sharing the experience with us. I cant wait to see the beautiful pieces that will be transformed from all those terrific strands!! Be well my friend, Katy
I love these shows. Went to the one in Baltimore in October and had the same reservations you did but I just couldn't stay away! It was perfectly safe, however and I was thrilled to be able to go to one. I also made sure to thank the vendors who showed up. I would hate to see these shows fold. I always spend way too much but it's so fun!
Wow... so many beautiful beads...some really nice gemstones... you really got quite a haul there... Nothing like a bunch of new beads to stimulate creativity... its always fun... The two shows in my area were cancelled this year... so I'm glad they still held the one near you.... Happy beading! :)
Ametrine is such a pretty stone! It sometimes has a really beautiful contrast of the purple/yellow or sometimes a yellowy-green. I've read that it is usually mined in Bolivia. Very nice haul. I love gemstones and learning about them. There are so many.
I love to go to the International Gem and Jewelry show when they are in Houston where I live. I buy more than I budget also. We are kindred spirits. You found some gorgeous gemstones. Have fun designing. Love your tutorials.
Hi! Thank you for sharing this experience and these gorgeous beads! They don't organize this kind of expos here in Italy so thank you very much for this video! P. S. I'm really fond of your designs! Hope to see you soon in another video! Stay safe! ❤❤❤
Very nice haul, I had thought about traveling up to Chantilly for the show but was worried that it would be cancelled with everything going on and didn't want to chance not being able to get my money back for the hotel room since I would be coming from SC. Your pieces are so beautiful I'm sure you will be able to recoup every penny you spent. So glad you were able to go and have fun and I look forward to seeing some of the pieces you create from them.
Great haul. I think at 25:18 it might be Mookite Jasper although I have not seen it with transparency like that. I think the vendor mentioned that in the early part of the video. That one strand of Tiger Eye pebbles at around 18:30 - yes there is Red Tiger Eye and also Blue Tiger Eye (but some is dyed and some is natural blue). I wish we could have bead shows but they all got canceled this year near me and I'm not That far north of where you were (Southeastern PA here). This show, as well as Bead Fest, usually occur 20 minutes from me in a convention center. I really hope they can hold them in 2021 (not that I Need any more beads...lol). TFS
My mouth 👄 didn’t stop watering! OMG 😯!!!! Treasures, tons and tons of treasures you got yourself, dear Luisa! Thank you 😊 for taking us with you through the beautiful scenery, the gem show, the ride back and then......., the un bagging! Christmas 🎄, that’s how I felt watching all that beauty! I have no idea what that beautiful brown-black-orange stone is called, I still have a lot to learn! The multicolored beads at the end look like candy 🍭! LOVELY ❤️ 😊 haul! 😉 Enjoy!
Very nice variety. The Tucson bead show is in Feb. I hope to go this year. It is always a big show. I have not been for a couple of years. If any of you get the opportunity go it is a very good show with many venders.
I so happy for you Luisa! Looks like you had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing the adventure with us. My favorite is the tourmaline strands and the ones you fell so in love with. Enjoyed your haul. Going to be fun seeing what you do with all those beauties 😍
I’m so jealous!!! We Never get gem shows in Pittsburgh that I know of because I’d definitely be there lol I’d walk in and just say take my money!!!🤣🤣 everything you got is beautiful
Wow! You did get a lot of beads! The show will be in Richmond Nov. 4th or 5th. I'm not sure but I want to go if possible. I will do the same thing, though and spend way too much. You got some really pretty beads. Can't wait to see what you make.
LUISA, WOW!!! What a haul, 💘love, love, love them all. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see what you create with these beads. Sending Hugs to you from Florida!
Wow,wow, wow!! Looks like you had so much fun. I am so jealous . I would love to go to one of those shows but they never seem to be in my area. Well happy beading to you and I look forward to see what you make with all of those beauties. 🤗💖
Wow you got so many beautiful beads!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have never been there before. It is so nice to see other parts of the US. I’m here in Oregon. Have a great day!!
Hoping you can explain more about "flash." (I think that is what you called it!) It is a new term for me. I'd like to know more about it. It would be helpful to see good/okay examples of it. I enjoyed seeing your road trip and all the beautiful trees--I felt like I was actually going somewhere again! I have never been to a bead show but based on my experience attending yarn shows, I would be the odd duck who leaves without buying anything. I do best when I can buy a kit. Do bead shows typically offer these? Thank you for taking the time to share your shopping trip!
There is a labradorite called transparent labradorite and that looks like what you have. The vendor made a huge mistake because you should have paid triple the price, so yay you. If you ever find any more I would suggest getting them. They're much more valuable than regular labradorite. Good find.
I really enjoyed taking the ride with you and looking at the scenery. Your bead haul is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t know if any beader that sticks to their budget when going to a bead store. I know I don’t, whether it online or at a store. Lol. Thank you !!
Beautiful beads!!! I live outside of Philadelphia (I’m not sure if the show is here this year or not) but I’ve never gone. I’d need to have someone take me since I can’t drive but I don’t want my husband to take me because he would be bored and ruin my fun, lol. I don’t know anyone in my area who beads either. So, I just order online and I’ll live vicariously through you for the bead shows! Lol!!!! Thank you for sharing!
I'm seeing more and more Adventrine beads when shopping. I wondered if that orange/gray strand towards the end of your video was Rhyolite or Picture Jasper? I'm think the gray rondelles are your Eagle Eye. A gorgeous haul. Stay well xox
You are braver than I am. Maybe I will go to the next one since I now have a face shield as well as my mask. I’m jealous of all your pretty beads! Were you shopping out on the main floor or back in the wholesale section? The prices on the crystals seemed really cheap that’s why I asked. My experience has been anywhere from $3 to $5 a strand out on the main floor. You have to have a business license to get into the wholesale section so anyone wanting to go to one of these shows, be aware. BTW there is a red tiger eye as well as a blue/gold combo. They’re all gorgeous!
Wish they had these shows where I lived, but only in the city and well not to sure where I’m going even now, only lived here 2 yrs and had my car a yr. so don’t go many places specially since our Governor closed down life. 😢 the way it goes, but I’m sure my sis in low would be up to the trip if there was one. Hahaha
Yes! Those are gorgeous! The vendor said they were Jade but then corrected himself and said tourmaline Jade. So I’m not exactly sure what they are but they’re beautiful! 😊🌺🌸🌼
I don't. I'm extremely careful with my money. Eating, paying bills etc is more important than buying beads. I only shop when I need some and have a project in mind. I only go to one show and help a booth that may need help and get paid by that vendor. And the best time to go is the last few hrs on the last day because many vendors, especially international ones, don't want to schlep alot back so u get real big discounts. It's called being disciplined and planning ahead

Thank you for sharing this wonderful purchase. I miss going to bead shows, and you made me feel like I was there! Love your videos and your artistry.

Wow! What a wonderful time you must have had. Thank you for opening your treasure chest for all of us to see!
Beautiful Bead Haul! I can't wait to see what you will make with all these beauties.

I’m loving using your coil buddy!
Beautiful beads, Luisa! Gem shows are so much fun! Looking forward to seeing what you make with them.

Awesome. Love it all of the strings. My fave was the multicolor one 💗

This is one of my favorite shows out here in California we aren’t able to start having shows yet...
There is a labradorite called transparent labradorite and that looks like what you have. The vendor made a huge mistake because you should have paid triple the price, so yay you. If you ever find any more I would suggest getting them. They're much more valuable than regular labradorite. Good find.

You’re right about that!. I’ve never been able to resist buying beads. And I definitely go over budget every single time. 😂🌺🌸❤️🌼

So pretty thank you for
sharing. ♥️
They are all wonderful! It looks like it was a *perfect* day! 🥰
Liz it was a beautiful day! I couldn’t resist going! 😊🌺🌸🌼
Hi Luisa, I just purchased an abundance of Labradorite from Hong Kong and Firemountain Gems that does no look anything like it.
I usually go to that show every year and I am missing it this year. Hope I can make it next year.

Hi hi. I have the lady bug beads. Not sure hou to use them
I’d love to go to one of these shows. I live in north eastern Pennsylvania.
Almost like being with you!!
I would have bought, bought, bought too!!!
Yes! Between you and me, we’d keep the vendors in business while going broke from all the spending! 😂 I’m a hopeless shopoholic! 😊🌺🌸🌼
really enjoyed ty
There is a variety of tigereye that is red - I think it's called iron tigereye.
I'm so jealous. All of our art shows etc have been cancelled. Everything in Portland, OR is closed down.
Hi, how often does the show come to Chantilly. VA?
Hello! I am new in making jewelry and want to know how I can find out about bead/jewelry making shows.
I’d be in heaven!
18:20 beautiful beads 😍
Yes! Those are gorgeous! The vendor said they were Jade but then corrected himself and said tourmaline Jade. So I’m not exactly sure what they are but they’re beautiful! 😊🌺🌸🌼
I thought they were Agatha, beautiful beautiful 😍
Don’t we all buy way more than we need? 😄
I don't. I'm extremely careful with my money. Eating, paying bills etc is more important than buying beads. I only shop when I need some and have a project in mind. eagle eye is gray
Thank you Jo. So that answers my question. I wonder what the other stone was? There were two strands at the end that I couldn’t identify 😊🌺🌸❤️
@@MistyMoonDesigns Well tiger eye is the only one left on your list he wrote on the bag
