This movie is awesome and Charlize Theron and everyone else did a great job with this move. Far from just a time waster, I'm going to go watch it again later today and recommend it to all of my friends. Quick review or not, it was a very great, very detailed, super awesome review.

I enjoyed the film. It's 6 Underground without the Ryan Reynolds' humor. Similar overall plot and feel to it. The immortal thing is wicked cool. And there wasn't much wasted potential with the concept. Characters were all solid. The evil guy is a little generic. But he lands on the better half of generic. Really enjoyed the depth to Chiwetel's character. I agree with the two betrayals. Didn't care for the second one, or how it ended up for them. A lot of the big reveals we're too easy to predict. One was in the trailer. And, for the others, once they bring something up, you know it's gonna come into play later on. That's fine, you need to have some background on these things, but it does take away from the moments a bit. It's Like "Oh! Yep, it finally happened." Instead of " OMFG WHAT!?!?!?!?." Also the music felt so off. A little out of place. Felt like watching a trailer. Those are some negatives, but overall, I really enjoyed it. My hubby and I watched this last night and really liked it. I hope if they do a second one we get to know the characters a bit more and find out what happens to the lady in the iron coffin.
*The Old Guard was awesome. Director Gina-Prince brings a very sophisticated vision to superhero movies and I actually had a good time watching this on Netflix. And she also directed Love & Basketball which is another movie of hers I enjoy. My personal score for The Old Guard is an A- and I happily recommend this movie!*
It was good but I think the A tier should be reserved for great movies. Movies that are above and beyond. I like The old Guard a lot but giving above a B+ in my opinion is giving it more credit than it is due. Imho

I loved this movie and recently watched the warrior nun and they gave me similar vibes. Both are based on obscure comic books, and I'd love to see you do a review on The Warrior Nun!!
Dialogue was dumb, acting was bad and fight scenes were flat and had no zip (like Extraction did). I usually try to find things to like about a movie but this one just laid there. And the pop songs in the middle of action scenes were just ridiculous. They really could have done so much more with an interesting "god mode" premise. After all of these years, they haven't appeared to have gotten any better at being warriors because they get shot to pieces in every gun battle.
I love Shanghai noon. Thought it was a better than rush Hour. I only really remember (ironically) the final fight and chases from Who Am I. The fight and build stunt are classics
I felt it was just “meh”. It was SO OVERLY LOADED with SJW crap it ruined it for me. I mean WHY do we have to always have a purposefully Dover’s cast and OF COURSE a gay subplot that has NOTHING to do with the story front and center. I mean it’s irrelevant to the story. But since the director is the FIRST BLACK WOMAN to direct a superhero movie (does that really matter) it hits on all these conventions. Also.... the all female Marine unit that was compassionate. Please. They SACRIFICED a LOT of characterization that would have made me care about these people. They should have developed the backstory more especially the historical parts of their history. And OF COURSE the villain is a PSYCHOTIC white man.... and BIG PHARMA. 🤮 I mean come on really? So sick of all this MESSAGING and the villain was COMICAL. But the action was good and it COULD have been so much better.

The Old Guard was fine, I don't mind seeing a sequel.
I loved how it started slowly, so we got to know the characters, see them as a family, and see Andy cares oh so damn much

Thought it was OK, really led into a sequel but felt like with some tweaks could have been a much better stand alone movie.
