I added probably a quarter cup of Plant Tone to the bottom of the hole I dug when I planted mine. It takes a while for that fertilizer to work, and my tree took off in it’s second year. I scratched in some Flower Tone in the top of the soil around the tree this year and am hopeful the young tree will start to flower next year. The pollinators love the flowers on Mimosa trees. They are a nice addition to a yard.
I have 2 Mimosa trees. One has a lot more color (pink) in the flowers. I'm guessing it has to do with a difference in the soil. If you agree, what do you think I need to add to the soil under the bland one? Or do you think the problem is something else? (Both were transplanted from saplings from the same tree.)
