20 years ago he gave us this.... Where did he go!? He's arguably one of the best entertainers of our generation and I feel robbed we didn't get more of him like this
@@lloydmatthews9439 A bit of that, and he seemed to fall out of trend. Robbie was a massive artist in the UK and parts of Europe but is barely known here in the United States. Couple that with the growing pop boy band/talyor swift trend in the early 2010s onward, and it makes sense why he didn't continue to grow as he aged. But I mean, the guy had a massive career for a good decade, which is more than can be said for most in the industry.
When I was seventeen ...- that was a long time ago...But I can still remember the different steps in the song 17 - 21 - 35 - autumn of the year: in my own life (75) in 2023. Thanks to Robbie and Frank!
Almost 20 years ago I had it at my fathers funeral - because he loved the song and Frank, ol' blue eyes, lifelong...and shared the memories of this song...and I loved it eversince. Farewell you both!
Had a chance to see him on the last tour of him,Dean and Sammy in Chicago somewhere in the early 80’s.I ended up having to work so I gave my tickets to my folks.
forgot to mention l have a large framed pencil sketch of Frank on my living room wall its been so cleverly done , long story but it attracts a lot of attention and what a kick is that . love to all Sinatra supporters in the US and so many in the UK XXXXX
And they say Robbie Williams is not the best of vocalist. Well Frank would have said you done me proud son. THE GREATEST SHOWMAN. At this point Rob left the RAT PACK in the Gutter. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧Union Jack Man.
A nice version but it can't begin to compare to Sinatra's version, what with his lower voice and the depth of gravitas he gave to the lyrics. Still nice to hear the "medley" and how Williams pays homage to ole blue eyes. - Fan of both singers
You must now be 19 ,hope your having some better years .I am 68 now ,my 17th year was a very good year, Yes I can remember dont waste your youth because it will pass and one day you will be me.
Of course there’s always some silly attention hound girl who assumes she’s so important that everyone wants to hear about how she believes herself to be the only person who’s had a hard time...like actually believes her life has been uniquely difficult and nobody else has had any trouble at all. Hopefully you’ve grown up since this post and are not so self indulgent anymore.
@@johnrockness4605 I'm afraid not, John. It seems that I have not aged a day since my last post. I am still 17 years old. Doctor's find my case extraordinary. They're not sure how it started, but I do believe it is related to my previous post. I think that my "attention seeking" has gone too far and it has stopped me from ageing. I am not asking for sympathy, just that you understand how true and wise your words are. Please listen and learn from a young fool such as myself. Take care, John. I hope the world will one day bring you peace and that you will no longer be triggered by 17 year old girls on TH-cam.
I love Robbie Williams; I love this concert. I listened to this CD over and over again. But you are right... No one can sing like Sinatra... (and I love Presley, and Dean Martin and many many more...) Goosebumps all over, again and again.
It depends on taste for me personally it's more beautiful and fresh when Robbie does it. I like much more Robbie's vocal than Frank's but it's just my opinion
Right? And paid tribute with a song that doesn’t belong to Sinatra either...Sinatra didn’t write this he heard it on the radio himself and decided he wanted to use it.
20 years ago he gave us this.... Where did he go!? He's arguably one of the best entertainers of our generation and I feel robbed we didn't get more of him like this
He did do a follow up album of swing music (Swing both ways), then his Christmas album was great
He got too big headed I’m afraid

@@lloydmatthews9439.... he doesn't seem like that type of fellow to me.
Heard he needs to take care of his mental health. And I bet he got death threats after party like a Russian. Putin didn't like it.
I absolutely love this version, not just because Robbie sounds fantastic singing 'with' Frank, but you can tell how much this meant to him.
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.
What a handsome man

Speechless *. Jeez...
Absolutely, you are the best Robbie ❤️❤️❤️
Robbie at his best with this classic song, done very good Frank would be smiling!
Robbie is a masterpiece. A work of Art. There is hardly any difference in sound between Frank and Robbie. Magic is what this is. Magic.
ABSOLUTELY, can't stop playing it!
You should really listen again: HUGE difference in sound!,, Sinatra mature and full of painful experiences - Robby ,young and eager-
He is 100% ...Just like Sinatra 💙
He nailed that accent, tone, and Sinatra style.
Almost 20 years ago I had it at my fathers funeral - because he loved the song and Frank, ol' blue eyes, lifelong...and shared the memories of this song...and I loved it eversince. Farewell you both!
Mister Robbie Williams - was für ein faszinierender Mann er geworden ist !!!

Frank Sinatra Sammy Davis Jr Dean Martin . When I was seventeen . Thanks Robbie.
Ya estoy llorando.
Some songs you dont mess with if you have heard the master. You make it 50% at the most I think one is more logical
Fuck, I love you, greetings from Berlin, thx for all your entertainment. 🙏❤️ This song is not from this planet, the performance is 🚀

Nothing compares to Frank's version.
👌👌👍👍👍
😯hou!, 👏👍
When I was 17 it was 2016 and personally it was a pretty bad year soo...can't relate
This song is supposed to have a meaning for those who have lived than 18 years. Even for Robbie, who has only 44, it cannot relate...

Yep how about today, year 2020?
2021 !!! ❤️❤️❤️#RobbieForEver
Almost sounds like Sinatra, but in a higher range. Like if Frank were a tenor. interesting.
Good Williams but Sinatra is ten levels above!
Good performance. Not a patch on the Boss.

Good rendition not taking anything away from Robbie, but this comes no where close to Sinatra's.

He didn't even try to be Sinatra. Because there will never be another FRANK SINATRA. Robbie just payed tribute. And he did it very well!

Frank sinatra oh
Frank Sinatra died in 1998.
Only one frank ,Robbie sings it ok but not in the same league
Of course, aso the diction is not as as pure. But excellent all the same. And very brave!
Lol why people always have to compare? He just payed tribute and he did it very well!
