Yamato and Musashi were no slouches either😂 But, you know, to say it with ABBA: the winner takes it all❤ What we CAN claim is that the Iowas ARE the best battleships... because they are still around today🎉
@@peterkoch3777 The Yamatos could have certainly put a hurting on the Iowas(and vice versa) but the Iowas speed, fire control and radar gave them the the advantage. Not that it mattered by 1944 as the aircraft carrier writing was on the wall
Very interesting as regards their bow. I refer to the pictures and observations recorded when on a NATO exercise alongside H.M.S. Vanguard where the latter had superior sea keeping characteristics.
Nice to see you hit a mainstream topic. Even though Iowas have been talked about at nausium you do a very good job of bringing you insight and perspective. I always appreciate all of your videos and hope you keep a good mix of popular and more obscure topics.
I actually just got this magazine titled, The Golden Age Of American Battleships 1888 - 1947. Don't worry about inaccuracies, I try not to, and if I do, I try to politely mention them. Take care, and all the best.
Great video but I seriously doubt USS Iowa (BB 61) was commission in 1933.
@@Malbeefance Thanks for catching that. I meant 1943.
@@centralcrossing4732 I know it was just a harmless flub but it got a laugh outta me.
Another great video. Well done
I would suggest that these are the best battleships ever built. Nice presentation.

I’ve always loved these boats.
The lines (for a BB, that is…) are just fantastic.
My favorite class of battleships ever built.
Good thing they kept the speed up as that helped the battleships stay up with the fast attack carriers
In FIRST! Have to crash, but WILL watch the video when I get up. So looking forward to it!
