Chhos-Kor A Religious Ritual of Monpa People of DIRANG(DIRANG DZONG & YEWANG VILLAGE)...

"CHHOS-KOR" THE RELIGIOUS RITUAL OF MONPAS....
During CHHOS-KOR ritual, voluminous Holy Books such as "Ka-Gyur", "Gye-Tong", Nyi-thri, Bumm" etc are read in village temple by engaging Monks and Priests. Every Village, performed this ceremony in different months according to their Village convenience,with the aim of providing supernatural protection to the crops sown,for good harvest and to drive away evil spirits.
In the mid times if the ritual,a procession taken out round the jurisdiction of the Village.. carrying pictures of Lord Buddha, other Buddhist Pantheon and Holy Scripts on their back.
And this procession is headed by 2Kyang-pas(Mask man), followed by Lames,Head of the Village then villegers carrying Images and Holy Scripts on Their back....
Every Monpa Village celebrate this ceremony in different dates...
