Its early evening and I'm headed to Goodwill. I have just started to sell on Whatnot.com and I'm really enjoying it, so I am excited to be able to look for items to include in my upcoming sales. Christmas is in full swing on two full aisles at the very front of the store. Thrifting started off a little slowly but they were restocking the shelves as I was shopping and my cart quickly started to fill up with some amazing treasures. Add a can of hot chocolate mix, a bag of marshmallows, the 4 lovely winter scene mugs from the beginning of this video into a basket, and you have a wonderful gift!
Yes...especially teachers and other people like postman and others that are in your life and are ignored...pediatricians, nurses, library staff. I do this every year...a mg, pack of hot chocolate, small baggie with 2 marshmellows and a candy cane. There’s a poem that you can print for snowman soup. Cute gift for the overlooked people in your life and it is inexpensive.

Glad you picked up the resin bird. I wanted a miniature of my beloved poodle and black siamese. The ceramics are not realistic, but the resin are so detailed! I like resin for animals. The bird is lovely.
The blue vanity tray at 15:24 is so pretty, and a good flip. $30 plus

I wish I could find a Harry Potter coloring book like that! ❤ That green tree Lacey wall hanging thing is exactly like the craft projects I did in the 80’s! Some of them are still hanging on the walls at my parents’ house and my late in laws! It makes me feel old that people are buying them now as vintage kitchy items! The huge fan was amazing! 😊
Right? I was surprised when I heard someone say that etsy defines vintage as 20 years old 😂 I was going through my mother's things, and looked up some McCoy pottery. I determined it to be made in the 40's - 60's, and my first thought was oh that's not that old lol. I must have been thinking from my younger self lol.

The other day one of my local news stations did a piece about decorating for christmas, using items from a particular floral & garden store, and highlighted mid century modern designs. It got very few views on TH-cam, but I left a comment that people could get actual mcm items (and other eras) by shopping at thrift stores.
It just so happens to be the floral business where Dept 56 was founded!

I lensed the plate and found that it is a Dresden as you thought. Description on ebay was "19th Century Antique Continental German Dresden Yellow Ground Desert Plates" looked the same. Good call!

My parents got together with their friends once a month at each other's homes for a potluck. The hostess organised who brought what and provided the coffee and tea. I also remember when it was our turn, and even with open windows an scented candles, it took a while to get rid of the stale ashtray smell. Yup! Memories. 🤢🙊 👵

I liked the tip you gave about putting items you are considering but aren't certain about in your cart. But would you PLEASE add that if you decide not to purchase the item then you must return it to the same shelf it was on or nearby. It is so agravating to see wood items placed among the glasswares, or Christmas items on shelves reserved for pots and pans. Also, it's not fair to the staff who then have to go through the store and put items back in their designated areas. At Blockbuster Video Rental Stores, they used to say, "Be kind, rewind." Maybe at thrift stores we can say, "Be kindhearted, put it back where it started." Or, how about, "Don't be wack! Put it back!" Oh, I do hope I've made you smile. PEACE

That lace tree thing on the wooden hoop. The lace looking panel was purchased at a fabric store. There were all kinds of designs. you would put a piece of colored fabric behind it. There were some really cute ones.

Have you ever done a video on how you prepare items for shipping? I’m curious about the process. Also, have you done a video where you break down what exactly to look for as far as brands, etc. or how to tell if something is vintage? Loving your videos!
Kate, you could study items on eBay and Etsy that are titled vintage. You could also bring an old lady shopping with you and she'll point out everything vintage, plus include a story with it. I was at a church rummage sale looking at two, small pressed glass dishes. This lady in her late 70's or early 80's informed me that those used to come inside the container of oatmeal during the 1950's. Very educational!😁🌼🌼
I would go into reselling, but here in Pensacola, i would starve to death, our Goodwills and thrift stores, have a picture of the front of a donkey and as u go out theirs the backside in another picture, ,a broken vase, 2 wigs and caulking to secure u r wig, i just get so excited when i see u r stores, because theirs nothing here. I found a set of six Birds like your cardinal. Some are sitting on pine cones some on Buckeyes seed pods. Then later I found miniature ones of the same design
Keep an eye out on Patrick Nagel prints and lithographs. I know the artwork might be riskay for TH-cam but it sells well. Usually you will find them for cheap. My mom collected his work. Also love the videos you make. I Usually stay clear of art and glassware but now after watching your vids I'll keep my eyes out for things. Thank you for the information. Keep up the fantastic work.
That orange and blue glass that you passed by I'll bet is Art Glass and could have been a decanter. I for sure would have picked them up and I'm called the crazy glass lady.

The Hallmark invitations are from the early 70's; they had a whole line of things with that snowman. I had a large (24") snowman of my Harvest Gold fridge. I put the cat's catnip mouse that needed mending on top of the fridge. Jeremy tried to scale the front of the fridge to get his mouse and ripped my snowman! I made lace panels/embroidery hooks in the late 70's. So easy with an electric glue gun!
You should look up the umbrella table pots. New $30.00 to $80.00.

You passed up that pair of huge candlesticks? 9.39 and 10.37, green bases with orange and cream pillars. That white odd snowman plushie is a Disney character from "Frozen". The gold thing is probably a candle snuffer, looks like someone made it from a ladle!

28:00 you picked up that damaged Hall’s vintage bowl it is from the Jewel Pattern. I have the 3 piece bowl set just let that & several other pieces of it I even have an 40th anniversary plate that they put out.

Tiffany, if the yellow floral dish is Dresden then it might be worth more than $18. It is time to do some research. Yellow is a difficult colour to make and I know that yellow Chinese pieces were made for Emperors, it could well be the same for other antique pieces.
