Comparing Gas/ Refrigerant Micro Leak Solutions on Micro Leak

  • Looking for leaks an HVAC tech can spend hours on. Sometimes even with the most expensive electronic testers may not find the leak. We also have many bubble solutions to choose from to find the leaks. They are not all equal and some are better than others. Here I am checking a few leak bubble solutions out. They all worked on bubbling up on this leak. I even show how a cleaning product Windex performs on this refrigerant leak. I use Big Blue, Cal-Blue, Diversitec Pro Bubble, and Windex. You can decide which is the best one in this video.

      I figured I needed to let others no just in case they were in a jam and had no solution on them every homeowner has some Windex. too bad I put a poll on this video today. I want to see before the video and afterthoughts.

    Cool video. I actually prefer the way Windex foams up. I think that would make smaller leaks easier to find.

    I found that putting 25% of “ kids mr. bubble” in any of the blue leak detector liquid will make big bubbles to aid in location of tiny tiny leaks.

      It was found in a desperate moment and figured should let others know just in case there Leak solution bottle breaks open in the back of there truck. The other bubble solutions are good and at some times may be better but......

    Good test, sometimes out of frustration I will try 2-3 different leak solutions, now I can try 3-4. I am going to try dawn too.

      They all work I was leaving it up to whoever watched at the beginning to put what they though would work best and after what they thought. Windex I discovered in a pinch but I find it helps find some tiny micro leaks

    • @thehvachacker

      I did almost start this video off as if I was going to do a which is better. Yet they all work but the windex reacted faster. I might get some heat from other HVAC channels for not saying big blue is the greatest. 😂 yet I let the solutions do there thing so others can decide.

  • @AnnLippert1

    im gonna use Windex!!! i don't want to spend money as I'll never use that leak stuff again. Also you cant mess up the ratio (making your own soapy water mix) Windex FOR THE WIN. ha

    That's far from a "micro-leak". If you see the hole then they should all work. A micro-leak is one that takes hours to show a slight decrease in pressure on the order of 10~20 lbs.

    I checked a spilt Ac.when I start the Ac it runs for one or two minutes n then the outer unit stops.then again after two minutes it starts.pls tel me what will be the fault.

    • @thehvachacker
      @thehvachacker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say without having the unit in front of me and my meter to test the electric circuit. Yet it sounds like a low pressure switch possibly causing this issue. Put your gauges on and see when it cuts out what the pressure is

    • @peterbrianmendonsa5643
      @peterbrianmendonsa5643 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thehvachacker the unit is one ton spilt Ac.n I checked the amps its 3.45.sir the problem is the Ac starts n after two minutes it get off the outer unite n then after two minute it starts.is the problem with the censor .

    • @thehvachacker
      @thehvachacker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like it is cycling on low limit. You need to check the pressures to see what the pressure is when it cuts out and then what’s the pressure when it cuts back in. It can also be a freeze stat if one is installed. If the evap becomes to cold it will cycle the condenser off.

  • @brianporter447
