I’m impressed by how you had the foresight to weather the roof before assembly rather than going back with chalks and washes afterwards as so many do. Would you consider doing a tutorial on how you use styrene tube and fibre optic strands for your lighting?
Nice work. I have a tip for you. CA is known to crystalize and get brittle. I have found the Plastistruct Bondene will work well with painted parts. It will eat through the paint on the surface that you are trying to bond. also, a Touch-N-Flow applicator will help keep the cement from going where you don't want it to
The Patel line of kits was marketed in the late 1970's early 1980's. They are good kits but the plastic they were formed with may cause the modeler some issues depending on the type of glue used; a matter you avoided by pre-painting and using ACC. Modern homes are often overlooked in the HO World and the split level, cape cod, and ranch kits are worth having on a 1950's to the present layout.
That turned out great. One idea to get around the door issue would be to extend the overhang to the end of the houseand re center the pillars. For this style of house it would look nice. Can't wait for the next build Great work
He Rainer, i like the fiber optic filament thought, where did you get that ? Is it similar to Bell fiber optic cable ? Sometimes i have switched lights in buildings, but if not, then this would save me work and led's Good video sir

I'll probably show that in more detail the next time I try it. This was a first time experiment - and I wasn't even sure it was going to work!

@@cameronwhitehead3860 Thanks! Might have to get some of that and try it.
Very nice build. Amazing how you took a $2 building and made it a very nice structure. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I learn something from every one of your videos. keep up the good work
Thank you!
Very nice build. I've never seen fiber optics used in an HO structure and it looks great. Cheers from eastern TN
The filament was so cheap to buy - so I figured it was worth experimenting!

The other kit I bought is the split level. Hopefully I can make that into a nice house!

You did wonders with that $2 kit…never heard of the brand…looks great in the scene you’re using it in…
Never heard of the brand myself before I bought them. It worked out ok! Thanks for watching!
Much improved! Good job.
Thanks!
Looking good, 2 dollars? Amazing. Merry Christmas 🎄
I was going back to look at them again - I had seen them at 5 dollars. He had dropped the price to $2… couldn’t say no to that!
Turned out looking real nice
I'm certainly happy with how it turned out. Thanks for watching!
great Rainer
Thanks!
Looks great Rainer. What is that giant bottle of glue you are using?
Just CA (Super Glue) I bought on Amazon. I have medium and thick viscosity.

It’s just 1 mm fibre optic that I got on AliExpress. $12 for 100 m. Amazon has something similar $14 for 50m. Pretty cheap either way.
@achb-railway ok, ty
