We Explore the port of Costa Maya Mexico while cruising on Carnivals newest ship Carnival Jubilee. this port has 3 different pools to choose from. The pools are free to use but to have a seat you need to purchase a $14-$16 dollar drink per Lounger. Our visit on this cruise had 4 ships at port and two of them were Mega ships so you will see that the port is very busy.

Carnival Spirit was the first cruise ship we were on back in 2009 out of San Diego.
I have to say in every video I see about Costa Maya the pool looks a little murky? Not really bad, but just enough to make me think people are just drinking and peeing in that pool.
Yeah they look like that every time we go there not sure if it’s actually nasty or just strong chemicals causing the cloudiness
We're on Jubilee in a couple weeks so excited....interested in your comparison of Allure (our favorite ship) with Harmony.

Enjoy seeing this cruise probably never take one but can enjoy them through you all.would not enjoy that crowd.

We always took a cab to Mahahual the fishing village 5 minutes away. Pool water looks suspicious...next trip we're staying on both ships (B2B) Voyager and Jubilee in the nice clean oft circulated water onboard! LOL
Haha. I may get in a Hot Tub in the serenity or solarium, but not where kids can be in it

Is there any butterfly 🦋 excursions or nature trail excursions there? Everything else seems like a big tourist trap with the shopping.
There are a lot of different excursions to choose from. Not sure about butterfly but plenty of trails

Can you get on the beach without taking a taxi?
This one at the pier yes. It’s right there when you walk through the gate of the pier
They got a lot of land to extend the port area - right side of the port.
They can make a water park ( include - NO price) / adult pool area - 18 & older / and some other stuff.
You are on to something. I really think they will expand Costa Maya just don’t no how soon

I went to costs Maya back in 2019 and it wasn’t that crowded we did the spa and ate lunch
We went in Oct of 2023 and it wasn’t this crowded
The carnival spirit has been down in Australia since 2013
LOVE the Spirit Class from Carnival. Just need to go on the Pride and have the full Spirit Class Ships complete.
I have not taken the spirit class yet. The miracle and legend are both cruising out of Galveston at times this year so I may take one of those.
@@FowlerFamilyFunDefinitely need to check it out IF you can handle the "retro gaudy" vibe and under 3000 capacity. You don't get the "bling" overload. Yes, there are limited dining options for free or specialty. That's not everyone's preference. Our adult kids (25/31/25 this year) like the low key relaxing vibe. For a seven day it is TOTALLY great. We had so much fun on the Legend in 2023 with them. And our daughter in love is NOT a Carnival fan. Maybe it was because it was a "family/friend" cruise for a celebration. But go in knowing it's not glitz/glamour "WOW" and feel the experience. There are tons of things to do. Easy to get around. Just sitting at places listening to music, trivia, etc. TOTAL decompress mode. PLUS the atrium and glass elevators mid and aft, PRICELESS.

You can rent golf carts outside of the port entrance. I recommend the "red shirts" or Mayahual Red Shirts Golf Carts.

Yes they have plenty of gift shops and restaurants and they will always take American money

So it’s a good idea to stay in port? The pools and chairs are free when you buy a drink or is there a fee to access the pools? Never been to costa maya, going next week. Thanks for the video
Think of it like this at the pool one chair = one drink. So if you want to use a chair to lay on or put your stuff in you have to buy a drink. The drink is 15-18 dollars for the chair. I think you can actually get in the pool for free as long as you don’t sit in a chair.
I want to try out the pools near the port but I’m afraid of leaving my stuff on the chair lol too many people walking by
Yeah we kept an eye on our stuff a lot of the time. There are lockers at the dolphin encounter not sure if it’s only for people who use the dolphin encounter or anyone

In 2022 we rented a golf cart to drive down to the Beach and it was crowed there as well. I think Costa Maya is limited in space for Cruisers

My goodness. Thank you for this. I was wondering what to do at this port, but now I see how much fun it can be without booking an excursion. I checked the port schedule for that day and only two ships are in port when we go. Thank goodness for that.
You will have plenty of fun. If only two ships are there there’s plenty of space for everyone you got lucky enjoy and have fun.

We love Costa Maya! We sometimes stay at the port and sometimes take a taxi to Majahaul. Can't lose either way!

I was just in Costa Maya at the beginning of February 2024 on Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas and I couldn't find their second pool area. I guess I just walked around in a circle because i didn't see the flamingos. There were 4 ships there when we went, also, so it was crowded.
Yeah you have to walk through some of the buildings at the end and it puts in the second area of shops and then the pool is at the end of the second set of shops
@FowlerFamilyFun Yeah, we didn't do that. Plus, our ship was leaving at 2:30pm and we didn't get off the ship until close to 11am. Next time, I'll go a little further in the port to see the other pool. I saw videos on the port and knew there was a second pool area, but didn't walk that far.🤷🏾♀️😄
What week in march was this ? I’m trying see if less people in port end of February
No this was the first week of Feb. our cruise was Feb 3 to 10 I just put the video out in March

Hey guys, Tampa here. I sail out of Tampa on May 11th, and will be in Costa Maya along with Harmony OTS. For me, two ships are too many, and Harmony will probably be busy. My plan is to taxi over to Mahahual for a couple of hours and check it out, than back to that last pool you showed on your video. Less quiet, but a tad pricy for a lounger. Thanks for the video, and am looking forward to getting out of town, whether I get off the ship or not. I sail out of Tampa often, because its so convenient for me, 10 minutes from the port. Sail safe !!

How was it with Harmony? We will be there with Icon in September. Our ship is small and Dream will also b3 there but not until 1. But Icon…oh boy!

Is it required to buy a drink at the first pool? Or just a second one you showed?
No each pool is different so if you spend time at two different pools you have to buy the drinks twice

Is the fare on the smaller ships considerably lower than on the large ships? Or are they the same?
I have a thing for Flamingo's so I would probably find a seat near them and watch them for entertainment!

Has that back pool area always been there? We've only been there twice. We just hung out a little and went back to the ship. The second time my husband didn't get off the ship because he had mobility issues so I just met him back on the ship and hung out there.
Not sure when they put the back pool in but it does look fairly new back there.
I love the fact that despite her losing her hair in different places because I think you said she had alopecia you are still standing side-by-side with her and you don't act like you want to hide her in the closet keep up with the great vlogs❤

Yes she has Alopecia. She has no hair anywhere right now ow but she is still just as beautiful as ever
