Andrew McCarthy did a great job on this movie. The part where he broke down and cried was heartbreaking. It was so sad, but great the father got his daughter back.
What a wonderful story, very touching, Fifthing to prove the love and find out laws can be changed for the best of a child. Thanks so much for sharing. Great actors.
It’s amazing how Keith’s job was probably just above minimum wage and his wife didn’t work but they had this beautiful home, nicely furnished and he could afford not to work for months and pay for lawyers etc. Only in the movies.
Love Andrew McCarthy he is such a great Actor didnt realize until I seen one of his interviews the impact he had with being associated as the brat pack, how hard it was for him to prove his self and find work. Also did not know until then he was in competition with Rob Lowe
Yes I had an uncle who married a woman who had a daughter who was officially adopted as she was given our sir name Unfortunately Betty left with a truck driver and uncle John truly Loved Shirley but she died from cancer when she was twenty years old 😢 Life brings ups and downs
I've Seen This Several Times, In The Past, As Well As On Here, Now. Always Loved/ Still Love Andrew McCarthy, He's Wonderful!!! Love Love Love, THIS Film, And Will Always Remain, A #1 Classic Too Me!!!☺️🦋🔥🤗💫✨
Andrew McCarthy was a normal children when he was young. He was such a great beautiful man young men and still is however I saw him in law and order or he was in abuse husband and I didn’t like him there but I still like him. He is a very nice man, and a great actor❤❤
Reminds me of Richard Thomas movie "To Find My Son" (1980) BOTH movies are AMAZING... If i remember correctly... The adoptions were able to change the laws from the cases❤❤❤
There was a time that children were even taken from their biological father as soon as their mother died. So sad. Even when their father was loving, caring and capable.
In 1972 a Boston adoption agency made the horrendous mistake of placing a baby with my aunt and uncle. My cousin's life was very difficult and I tried to give her some stability when I babysat. I would stay overnight because the two of them would arrive home at three in the AM smashed. I never said anything to my parents, but my aunt and uncle would tear apart the downstairs arguing. My cousin would have been better off with even a single parent who would have loved her unconditionally. She passed in 2019 at the age of 47, neither parent (divorced now) paid for the wake and both were there laughing it up. It took me many years to tell my parents what really happened there behind the doors. I was too afraid of calling them or the police, I was 16!!! I would just be there to comfort Nicole as best I could.
Adoption is trauma 😢😢😢 There is people out there, adopt for their own selfish needs There is people that I heard I don’t like other peoples babies or children And meanwhile, they adopt because they can’t have their own babies or child So they adoptee babies or child they grow up have traumatized issues finding there own Identity or sense of belonging I hear this from people Which makes me so sad for every adoptee 😢😢😢😢😢

Perhaps the baby feels the mother conflict and she’s more Comfortable w her daddy. I had a young mom her baby boy was four months and developed breast cancer cancer she came to our Hospital she passed away 😢😅 I cried so much I’ll will never will forget This young mother rest in peace even though I don’t remember her name cause I’m 70 years older ❤
A young man who was still enjoying his 'boyhood' hanging out with his guy friends playing ball and messing around, was pressured by his wife to adopt a child even after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. After his wife died, this immature young man all of a sudden really wanted the baby, fought for it and changed into a dedicated father. Sounds more like a fairly tale.
I emphasise but imho it was a selfish act to continue with the adoption whilst Kim was so very unwell. Equally, I consider the agency performed badly by permitting the adoption to go ahead even on a temporary basis.
I feel like as Andrew Mcarthy aged, he was losing some of that heart throb attractiveness from 80s. He even said he felt they were low budget movies he didn’t think would become so popular.
She wants a baby real bad but can clearly see her husband it too immature and not responsible. I’d pity the adopted child brought into such a marriage.

His wife did what she had to to give her husband a child. In what way is that selfish? He has lost his wife and looking after a child is possibly the only thing he has left to hold onto.

Teary eyed! Someday I’ll watch it again with my daughter when she grows up.
Sooooooo..... touching.....love of a father for his adopted daughter...... amazing ❤️ Any girl is blessed to get a father like this ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great movie. Excellent actors both, Andrew McCarthy and Teri Polo!
Andrew McCarthy is a fabulous actor
Shirley here, when she said she was pretty much tired of fighting this to her father I broke down crying.
She had to be in a lot of pain and wore out from being ill, chemo and surgeries to get to that point. ❤
@@ritaturner9906 She saw how Keith bonded with the baby and he was going to be good dad, so she was ready to let go.
@ Yah she held on until she knew everyone and everything was going to be okay.
Fantastic movie...tear jerker...

She did work, she told the lady from the adopted agency that she was a speech therapist
@ Oh, I guess I missed that. Well I never saw her work in movie even before she had a diagnosis.
Love Andrew McCarthy he is such a great Actor didnt realize until I seen one of his interviews the impact he had with being associated as the brat pack, how hard it was for him to prove his self and find work. Also did not know until then he was in competition with Rob Lowe
A very moving story and exvellent acting.

How tragic.. then she died young too. Hope she's with Jesus . Breaks my heart as I was also an abused child.
I'm sorry for both of you.. ❤@@helenmcdonnell2585
Yes.
Loving single people would be better.
I would take a child.
So sorry for your pain.

A tear jerker, but a great movie. ❤
Kim reminds of the model Sarah Murdoch , great movie bit sad .

Keith’s best friend was the reverend on Young Sheldon
❤❤❤❤ . Thank you 💕⚘️
That baby is adorable!!!

I enjoyed the movie! I Was puzzled with the baby car seat at the end😂.
Me too, didn't even buckle her in:)
The first time I saw this movie 😂 I cried it touched my heart 💜 deeply
He loved his baby girl ❤
She wants a baby real bad but can clearly see her husband it too immature and not responsible. I’d pity the adopted child brought into such a marriage.
This is a movie, but I’m surprised he had baby in front seat of the car when he had a back seat
I love him but also love. His red convertible.
My favorite car
Mine was black
Love it to the end 😂😢😅
Very good movie… Thank you very much… have you found the gospel of Jesus Christ yet?!?!? He is coming!!!! ❤️🎄🙏🌲😊👌😇✝️🇺🇸✡️🇮🇱🥰🎺

Andrew McCarthy & Teri Polo both played killers in Monk.
Can they really do that if its a single dad they can take the kid away?
Sue the adoption agency
Like getting a puppy
I have never liked the babies
Crib by the window it’s not safe for any baby 🌺❤️🐶🐿️💜
Wonder what happened on the road
Awful adverts, rubbish adverts
His wife made a selfish decision.
What the heck are you talking about?
She was never selfish in any decision she made. You must have slept thru half the movie.
His wife did what she had to to give her husband a child. In what way is that selfish? He has lost his wife and looking after a child is possibly the only thing he has left to hold onto.
She did but she wanted a baby at any cost. Maybe she was hoping for a miracle.
I agree 🤷♀️
Keith sure had a weird hair piece on for the movie!
It’s his natural hair🤭
To much advertise.
