Niiiiiice I was hoping to find something for that, I literally just got the galactic purple and it’s drifting. I dont even play hard like most people 😭
Psydrre! Thank You for being one of my oldest subscribers and all the support you've shown this channel even when I go years without uploading. You’re the G.O.A.T! Hopefully the video helped your friend out haha!
Sadly, it can. Even if your hands seem clean, the oils and sweat your hands naturally produce during long gaming sessions can contribute to it over time.
no no not people kids (aka gremlins especially when they're 10 or under). I don't think it's fair that little kids get to own and play a ps5, but actual adults only sometimes. Not saying that I'm an adult but I'm also not under 10. It's not like they can actually tell the difference between Fortnite's graphics and Spider-man Miles Morales graphics.
@@Moon_EB Especially the ones who eat a ton of food and then have the audacity to play on someone's PS5 without washing their hands. The peanut butter gives me nightmares
After cleaning is there a way to return that new look of a brand new controller? The black looks slightly duller than my new one. Just wondered if there is something I can use. Thanks for the tutorial, great stuff!
That is a good question. You can use it just to clean the outside shell but not for the button gaps or ports. Some hand sanitizers leave a weird residue behind and generally is not the best option for cleaning electronics.
You should be okay since you are mostly touching the plastic and rubber tops but ideally you’d want a higher percentage. The closer it is to 100% the safer it is for electronics.
That’s a good question. I haven’t heard of people running into issues using 70% on my other tutorials where I recommend a higher percentage. I myself have used 70% in a pinch for other electronics. With that said, I would still recommend something that’s 100% or as close to it for the peace of mind knowing it is safer for electronics.
The kind you use for drinking, yes!. The kind used in the video (commonly used to disinfect items and used as a first aid) No. As long as you are using isopropyl/Rubbing Alc that is as close to 100% as possible is generally regarded as one of the safest liquids for cleaning electronics. It is also used in some repairs to fix Stick drift which needs direct contact with the isopropyl alc and a Q-tip to scrub out all the gunk.
Will this help with the stick drift issue? It seems like the issue is under the joysticks. The rest of the controller is sparkling clean but the left stick still stutters while I'm playing.
There are a lot of reasons that cause the stick drift issue. Some of them can be fixed by simply cleaning the thumb sticks like in the video. It’s easy enough to give it a try and see if that works but it does sound like the issue is most likely a dirty contact point on the thumb stick mechanism.
@@GTRBytes there's no way to clean the contact point without taking the controller apart? I'm 90% sure that's the issue because my controller is spotless at this point.
Not directly but there is a little trick that might help. You need a can of compressed air and aim it with the straw in between the gaps. If you’re lucky, it can blow loose debris inside that was blocking the contact points inside. It’s not the best solution but it’s a decent trick.
My seat holders for my new tendo. Oh you work in ages of work he doesn’t work. I won’t have to do that. Use my fingers but I don’t know why because you have it moved to walk in the move and didn’t know soon as it work and I know it’s going on it was just like a help or is this OK or is that most abundant I want to get in line Chollar can get out cause I know you say the button how much am I the tendo doesn’t have the button cause about it snowing suck on these rollers and he can’t get out. Do you know what info that’s up With me the trailer is not even working. Do you want what is the work is on the opposition

Hey man I came back to this video and I had a question, I had to use cologne to clean my PS5 controller and USB cable just this one time because I didn’t have anything else at my disposal is it any bad and will it do damage to them?
The thing about perfume is that its mostly oils and other ingredients that usually make up the bulk over its alc content. I wouldn't suggest it because it can cause more harm than good in the long run. Depending on what its made of, it can corrode contact points/traces, sometimes cause a short, or if you are very lucky, nothing will happen. I've had people comment on other videos how they have used perfume instead of isopropyl alc to clean electronics without issue. If you can, at some point do use the isopropyl alc or those alc wipes people use to clean their glasses and give the charging port a quick wipe. This will remove any residue left behind.
@@GTRBytes Thank you for the elaborated response but I’m feeling scared now 😅, the thing is I used cotton swabs to clean like in the video, I dipped them into the cologne and squished them enough so that the liquid doesn’t leak everywhere onto the controller so I don’t know if that makes any difference or not. I played a few minutes after cleaning and don’t seem to have any issues at all with the controller nor the cable
You should be fine, especially if you squished as much of it on the cotton swab. I wouldn't worry about it. Still, try and use Isopropyl alc next time if you can.
I was just about to buy a new controller because my d-pad was sticking, Used this guide and now works perfect again, Thanks!
That’s awesome, glad to see the tips helped!
Thank you never realized how dirty my controller is
I know you didn't mention this would fix stick drift but it fixed mine 😁 ty!

Thanks for helping I going to get the stuff and start cleaning my controller
Why are people so gross when eating while gaming?! Just wash your hands before touching it...not that hard.
Even after I wash my hands and touch nothing, my PS5 controller still gets dirty easily. Is this normal?
My hands sweat while gaming so regardless if I wash them It dirty it up
Sadly, it can. Even if your hands seem clean, the oils and sweat your hands naturally produce during long gaming sessions can contribute to it over time.

This fixed my little bros sticky buttons he’s always eating candy while using it so TYSM!!!😂

maybe tell him to not eat while using the controller 😭
This would be a great problem to have if It meant I could own a PS5. Very satisfying tutorial nonetheless.
Its not all that great yet dont worry. By the time it gets really good the slim will be out and you dan get a cheaper better model

The soft material they make the Dualsense Edge out of is much harder to clean than the normal one
Very neat !

This would be helpful if this happened to me
If u don’t have a tooth pick a tooth floss sharp point works well
Is it possible for the isopropyl alcohol to remove the white paint of the controller?
I have not found this to be the case with mine and I clean it few times a month.
4:45 can i use alcohol to clean the triggers?

yes black paint
will this work on PS5 Covers?
By covers do you mean a PS5 with something like a “Dbrand” decal on it or just the standard white plastic?
@@GTRBytes either or both
Can people send you stuff to clean if so how much?
Not at the moment, sorry. But it’s a fairly easy tutorial and links to everything you would need are in the video description.
Can we use sanitizer instead of alchol

Thank you
What if you only have the Q-tips and hand rag and spray
what type of spray?
will alcohol get rid of grease (which is my main problem)?
Yes, I’ve had good luck with grease removal using isopropyl/rubbing alc that’s 91% or higher
Thank you!@@GTRBytes
Anytime!
Thought it was bad to use any alcohol more than 90%?
Generally speaking, the closer it is to 100% the safer for cleaning electronics.
Yo bro. I was wondering if you could use 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean your joysticks?

So alcohol won’t damage the color?
i used this video to help me clean my controller today and it has felt sticky around the back of the grips ever sense. is there a way to fix this?
Was there a decal or other sticky substance there before (food, candy residue etc)?
@@GTRBytes no, I take very good care of my stuff. I never eat and game at the same time and I definitely don’t put stickers on my things
