Here's a quick review of Bally's Theatre of Magic pinball. This game was released in 1995 and was designed by John Popadiuk. John also designed Cirqus Voltaire and Tales of the Arabian Nights. This game features a pretty cool trunk target and tons of magnets. John is currently doing a pinball with Ben Heck and is releasing a sequel to this pin called Magic Girl.

Thank God the license fell through. Love this as is
One of the best pinball games of all time. I worked in an arcade at this game's launch and it was cutting edge. Excellent theme, music, sound effects, and most of all, gameplay. It's magic! Also Addams Family, and Twilight Zone, and Star Trek TNG were the top pinball games of the 90s. Elvis was pretty good too.
Love this pinball machine!
I love the way you talk the history of a certain game/pinball. Very informative and your vids are a joy to watch. BTW! I love the owl sound on the intro of your videos!
This is still my favorite pinball game. Would be nice to own one of these one day.
Crikey! excellent review John. Loving this on Pinball Arcade. I was the Aussie that was on Video Game Outsiders Episode 120 something aka Vegimite and Cheese on toast :)
It's a good review, but at the very end, when John mentions the Ripley's Believe it or Not! table, he says its from the 90s. It's actually from 2004.
LOVE THIS ONE, only ever played as a computer game but still kicks arse
I've been waiting for this review! This machine in definitely on my top 10 list!
This is one of the best pinball games I've ever played, fast, challenging, with so many features! When challenges started opening up, it's brutal, and I agree the 'magna-save' was really magical thematically when activated. The design and voice were enchanting, it always felt nice to advance to the next levels while avoiding the dreaded drain.
There was a restaurant called Hoops in Auburn Hills, MI that I went to and they have that pinball machine and I was playing the heck out of it.
one of the best pins!
Awesome game, John! This was my favorite in the arcade. Actually, both your whirlwind, Theatre of Magic and RFM are great machines! Your lineup certainly doesn't disappoint! I can't wait for the next vid!
Might be my favorite pinball table of all time.
i love that pinball arcade added this to its tables, John, have you ever heard of this i know youd rather play the actual tables but for someone who doesnt have good access to pinball tables this game is a godsend :3
6:33 "And we actually just got it into the basement there..." BASEMENTCEPTION!
Might be getting this tomorrow.
Pinball is great but terribly expensive.
Yeah, I don't disagree! :)
This is fantastic. Great stuff! I have only experienced this game on my PS Vita, and it is incredible. So cool to see it (if only secondhand) in reality. Thanks!
Stern's "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" was actually designed by Pat Lawlor in 2004.
i think this is the best pinball i have ever played, love the theme and gameplay
I love the Theatre of Magic but I mastered it so well I moved on to others.
omg ive been playing this like crazy on the vita on pinball arcade! love this game i never knew anything about it before then
williams and bally pinball was actually removed and not renewd from the pinball arcade on 2018 also now on 2019 they only offered williams funhouse and bally cirqus voltare pinball for the dlc price for that game
Cool video. Has anyone told you how much you sound like Patton Oswalt?
Would love to have that room!
Nice basement. My wife would kill me just because of the power bill!
Great Edition! I'm a big fan of Cirqus Voltair its one of my fav's but it seem rare and half the time it is broken. :( ..... I also find FunHouse to be a big fav! I'm going have to say I like your Pin's more than anything.
Recommended review: Dr. Who pinball game.
They are growing. Say goodbye to space.
Feels like you haven't keep this game for long in your collection. I also recall you mention not liking this game anymore in a more recent video. What makes you change your mind about this game? I'm asking because I owned one that I just sell for some reasons, but just want to know yours first ;)
John. Do you mind if I ask how much you spent on your TOM. Ive been looking for one too.
Excellent review.
I'm soooo glad they didn't get the David Copperfield license. It would have detracted from an already wonderful game.
Because it's too damn expensive! :D
Can you open the play field and show us how the magnets look underneath?
Amazing!!!!
Oh, man. I want a pin with magna-saves. Video "like'd"
He needed to make room for NBA Fastbreak.
side angle? dude I have a crick in my neck now lol
Why did you sell No Good Gofers?
I couldn't remember her name. Sorry! :D
I like to get this pinball game. Problem is, it's one of the more expensive games and a lot of Pinside listings have them over $8,000, which I don't have just laying around.
I really didn't like the game ultimately. I would recommend NOT getting it. There are way more fun pins out there that cost less.
I was just able to get this game. It´s awesome pinball, but hardest game i´ve played.
I wish I had enough money to afford arcade and pinball games :'(
Trunk hit = instant mach 3 center drain
Just curious how much did you pay for this pin?
Why doesn't John have Medieval Madness?
I agree with alby 13
Is is me or does John sound exactly like Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force?
Make the tiger spin!!! get the mod
There is a cheat to the game and it's once u start the game right away press the left flipper and it will select digital pinball
You should get Family Guy
Terrible game. Prepare to sell it once the toys get old. Also, "Pop-a-Doo"? Lawlz! :)
That was the worst multiball I’ve ever seen.
Nice video John but "artwork done by a woman"?! You should have mentioned her name- Linda Deal (aka Doane). Let's hope your wife doesn't see this!
Weak game, nice art package. One of the games that draws novices, because they do not need to know how to play. Shallow ruleset, can be beaten in one ball, with no real wizard mode. Overpriced. Owned it for history, had it for 4 years, sold it for IMMENSE profit. Same for TOTAN. John Poopie failed nicely on "Magic Girl".
God, no wonder there's such an energy crisis when people like you are running so many electronic devices and not even using them. Wonderful review and kudos for this beautiful pin game, but I'm just disgusted by the waste...
Hookah Boy you have a shitty object permanence lol wow do you actually think that since its on video, thats how it is all the time? he only runs the games for videos and for a couple of hours a week....get over yourself and you tiny shitty soapbox
Bwaaaaahhhhhhhhh
