The best TH-cam video ever to explain the CRYSTAL LATTICE ,wow I am even more amazed to see this was made 9 years ago, when some modern videos still struggle to make this concept clear
After reading 3 books & a lot of videos & online information I was still lost. This made sense by explaining the basics. Thanks for posting it. I wish there are some other videos like this.
That razor blade cutting through the structures was very pleasing aesthetically. Also, great video. It made a lot more sense watching this than reading my chem book and you made everything incredibly clear!
After so many years of looking at 2dimensional crystal lattice....in books..... N criticicizing self for not having imagination power......... N hoping for someone to teach me i finally found this video which clarified my doubts ..... Very useful video...... Now I understood.... that after cutting unit cell appears like this..... I used to think.... Why they are half....... N adding all half parts..... Was difficult in mind..... It was so peaceful to observe how 1/8 th part of spheres join to form one atom...... No need to apply formula n remember just remember this video....., thanks..... 👍✌🙏🙏🙏
I rarely post comments under educational videos, but this one may be an exception. Very informative and great video! Thank you so much for explaining this in an easy and comprehensive way.
A really magnificent job Ma'am, I found the video to be rather enlightening......the explanations are very helpful, lucid and vivid..... thank you so much....
whats the difference between FCC and BCC? I understand their structure is different and have different use of space, how does it affect the behaviour of the material? Is one stronger than the other?? Thank you for the great video, it was very informative
BCC metals have less plasticity and are more brittle because of their higher dislocation lattice friction stress. Their lattice friction stress is sensitive to temperature ~ increased under lower temperatures so more rigid and brittle. At higher temperatures the plasticity increases (lattice friction stress decreases.) FCC metals have higher plasticity because of the lower lattice friction stress which occurs whether the temperature is low or high.
@@infinityplusone72 thank you so much!! Is BCC having higher lattice friction stress because they have fewer atoms, so when it shears, the changes is a lot bigger than if there's more atoms in the unit cell? So ultimately BCC is a stronger and more brittle structure? Thank you once again
This video was made many years ago so has the information changed ? Coz some points taught in this video are different from from the points written in my book for example the coordination numbers of bcc n fcc
This Video and the graphic of cutting the atoms are outstanding
The razor cutting is very satisfying to watch

Probably the best visual expiation ever made in a single video, priceless indeed

Your animation is even better than my chem professor's marker-board drawings and wild hand gestures.
So relevant
I can't believe I understood the basics of solid state just from this video 🥺
Now I can explain this better to others. Thank you 🥺
The sphere slicing was so satisfying to watch 😂. Anyways, thank you for the video! It helped. 😁
This is the most decent video that discussed the basic Unit Cell arrangement
Absolute gold! What a animation cleared all doubts! Hats off to your work!
this is the most clear and effective representation I have seen. thank you!!

Your video is really good....what i wasn't able to understand in week..i understood in 7 mins...thanks a lot

Your visualization and explanation saved me
A really magnificent job Ma'am, I found the video to be rather enlightening......the explanations are very helpful, lucid and vivid..... thank you so much....
A really good video . Increase my knowlege for chemistry
Outstanding presentation and Thanks
It's easy to clear the exact concept of unit cell.
Award winning! MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Till now it was confusing about fcc and bcc now it is clear thank u sir
Uma Rani glad I could share for the greater good.
It was so clear to understand!! Awesome video for visualization. Thank you so much.
Thanks for posting, the best explanation I have got so far!
This video really help me to understand this topic, thank you very much❤
Extreeeeemely Helpful Video....Best topic coverage and superb animation.
Best explanation of the cubic unit cells i've ever seen!
best explanation ..... really helpful
Very clear to understand and imagine. Thank you for your efforts.
great video! visualisation of these particles really helped me understand crystal structure! thanks you for sharing!
Great and clean
Excellent presentation
Thank you it is so efficient explanation

The best video on this topic.
Thank you so much! :)
Thanks for giving so nice presentation
Superb presentation
Excelent and very Clear explanation! Thank you!
Very good 💯 informative
Superb animation and explanation
Great video!!! Made imagination easy!!😄
Wow, well done. The animations really connect the dots.
I have to say within all the cubic unit cells videos, this one is the most evident.
Incredible!
This was the best presentation I ever saw in this topic and I still could not understand lol. Guess I suck at seeing three dimensions.
Watch again 😎 It will come to you ~~
Excellent presentation!!
BEST EXPLANATION.... THANKS
DHARMENDRA KUMAR you're welcome
Thankyou Infinity for uploading this. Please upload any further animations if u have, would love to understand concepts better🙃❤️

Great 👍👍👍
Too good explanation 😇🤩
Great video.
best video i have for seen for this topic
Outstanding
very good work.thank you.
Ek number
Informative video.
Thanks a lot!!
I'm about to download it
me while watching this:
10% learning
90% being satisfied every time they slice those atoms.
Priceless!!!!!
Are those iron atoms? Holy shit, that razor be sharp!
iCanHazTwentyLetters it is whatever atoms are in the chemical formula.
NICE ANIMATIOS TO TEACH CRYSTALOGRAHY
excellent video
Great illustratoin , Totally helpful !
Great thanks
fantastic video! love that cleaver knife
wow, very effective explanation.
very good video
Nice video !! Can you do a one on voids ?
Excellent
Anyone else here from Purdue CHM 115!?
Caarve Productions Yep.
Plus me!
I'm from Purdue Fort Wayne Chem 115 lol
Great animation
Excellent video. What animation program do you use? I would like to create similar animations for my students.
Thank you....It really helped me a lot ....:)
great animations!
great explanation
Thank you for this video!
Amazingly done!
Great video, thank you
this is how lecture should work!
It helped me lot 🙃
Bhot hard
exactly what i was looking for, thnk you

Very informative thanks
superlike
Perfect explanation!!!
very good vedio

Brilliant job ;)
Hallo Ms René Van Wyk, may i know the application to creat Cubic Unit Cells ?
fantastic disco discooo lalala
very good one,thank you.
Ma'am, please tell me the name of software for creating such 3d models
0:30
What does he mean by all 3 directions? I mean a cube has 6 sides, how can there only be 3 sides to complete a structure?
+tuck295q he means in a 3D sense, XYZ

loved this!
Curtin bring me here :)
Thank u💖
So good
thank you so much
i dont understand. An atom at the corner is shared by eight unit cells. what has it anything to do with cutting?
One eighth of the particle on each corner (8 corners) will be part of that cubic unit cell.
super helpful thanks!!
great work!!!! helped me lot!! tysm

fantastic vv great
incredible.....
