I cannot, for the life of me, why this amazing piece is so woefully neglected... Well, YOU kept it alive! Thank you!
@@minacciosa Hi John. As part of my Saint-Saëns year, I listened to every piece I could find by him. I became acquainted with his first two violin concertos. Both are very beautiful and impressive. They can’t compare with the masterful 3rd, but do deserve more attention. I also was impressed with his demanding 2nd Cello Concerto. The violin sonatas are also great pieces. I wish he had written one for piano. We have no large scale solo works for piano. I did record his 18 Etudes in my studio, and that was a worthwhile year long project. I wish my room were bigger as the sound is too dry and cramped.
