She's one of the few skaters that, without the Olympic stars present, could make figure skating popular again. One of the very few that have the IT factor. Even without difficult jumps, her programs are mesmerising. I hope she heals and gets her deserved Worlds gold one day!
It was the first program that mesmerised me. She will do better next time. We love a smiling and supportive coach

Yas. She was the first amoung all skaters to really induce emotions in people's hearts. I am happy she had a clean skate, hope this build up her confidence. Personally, don't care she did not have 3A or triple triple.
She is incredible ! She shines, everytime I see her skating and even can see a difference between few years ago and now. I hope I can see her skating one day irl. It must be amazing🌹

What an amazing skater! So glad to see her healing from the injuries and taking it slow... even without her signature lutz and flip jumps, she is a delight to watch! We can see the fruits of her hard work to develop all aspects of her skating, the performance quality is different indeed! Skates like a champion!

Rika is so strong. She’s the best of her generation considering she’s the most complete skater I’ve ever seen. I feel so bad for what happened to her. Forced to jump quads/triple axels and compete while injured therefore ended up with her having to miss her first Olympics in which she would’ve easily been a top contender for a medal there, and having her lose most of her jumps🙁 All due too her abusive coach. Which is why I’m so proud of her for switching to Brian and having the strength to still compete this season. You can tell that her performance skills have gotten so much better😭 I think her situation is an example on why you should never force skaters to compete or do hardcore jumps while already injured (@eteritutberidze & @miehamada)

@@KanatLS oh, so you want her to go back to her abusive coach Mie Hamada who forced her to compete and jump ultra c’s while injured?💀Brian coached the GOAT of womens figure skating and the GOAT of mens figure skating, I think he is def the best choice for Rika.
@@KanatLS + Rika literally said in an interview how much they care about health over there and how caring they are towards everyone, I think it’s safe to say that she’s perfectly fine with Brian.
She is one of the victim of the chase over "ultra c" elements above all else besides Aliona Kostornaia. Both of them are the most complete skaters in my opinion and the best of their generations but yet they had to miss Olympic because of mismanagement of injuries by their abusive coaches. I also blame ISU for this, just if goe and pcs scored correctly then bad jumping technique, bad skating skills, and performance should be reflected in the scores.
I've watched this performance again and it shows how well rounded she is as a skater even if she hasn't skated up to her standard. Also how happy I was when I knew she won the pcs of the night. Fingers crossed she manages to heal properly and gets back to her form under Brian guidance
This is the skater who made so many wonderful emotions come out in me a pure pleasure to watch her

Соскучилась по Рике,в прошлый сезон ее не было,лечилась. Как они рады,что нет российских девочек,с такими баллами занимают первые места,даже двухсот нет.
И очень печальное.В общем,далёкое от уровня катания российских фигуристок.Чистенько- гладенькое с половиной двушечек.Японки поняли,что настал их " звездный час".Рисковать нет смысла,россиянок все равно не будет.А так чисто исполнил 3- 2 или 2-3 и победил.

This is why sometimes it's better to do less complex technical content, and have a really good quality performance.
Everytime i watch Rika's program, i can see her passion and love for this sport. Rika really skated from her heart. I hope the season 2023-2024, she will have a stronger comeback.

@@bbl1188 I'm not quite sure about it, but it's possible.
Really happy for Rika.She is more confident now and a better performer. Brian is definitely a better coach for her. The covid pandemic delayed her TCC training and hence worsening her injuries which should be treated first instead of continuing competing.

Помню несколько лет назад одна из российских фигуристок катала программу под Титаник , да у неё тоже не было четверных, но программа сильнее выглядела , чем тут .

Действительно не плохо. Но в России она не сможет составить серьёзную конкуренцию. Лучшие Российские фигуристки уже не делают каскад 3/2, а только 3/3 или уже 4/3 и тройными прыжками уже никого не удивишь. Надо прыгать 4 оборота если хочешь занимать первые три места. 😉
Где её тройной аксель. А плечики, как у Камилы теперь в моде у японок.

@@Ирина-п6я2н yeah probably , but Russian skaters (at least the selected on the national team)had serious mistakes that the judges pass a lot and pretend not to see edges , urs and lack of rotation and bad technique , plus the dopping , I really like Trusova and Samodelkina btw and I’m looking forward for their performances in the future but as a fan of Rika I understand how she struggled with the injury and how the judges put her down even with her ultra c elements in the past years and this is a small victory , but look Rinka Watanabe won today with a 3Axel and she deserved so much points but the judges wanted to help the Canadians so they were very harsh with Rinka.

Рика, блин! 2-е в обоих каскадах, вращение 3-го уровня, дорожка шагов 3-го уровня, ни одного Ультра-Си... Прискорбно. Темп хороший, скольжение приличное и программа чисто исполнена, презентация есть. Но 2-е прыжки у трикселистки и квадистки, куда мир катится, а? Не ее уровень.
Чем куча 2- х и 3- ных прыжков,лучше один 4- ной, или один 3 акселл.Скучно, куча прыжков, чтоб набрать баллы, и поэтому не раскрыта тема музыки, о чем и что она прыгала.

Зачем платить ISU за съемки чужих соревнований,ведь наших спортсменов там нет? Лучше бы потратили эти деньги на наших фигуристов, или на лечение раненых мирных жителей, или на восстановление домов, пострадавших от стихийных бедствий, или на лечение раковых больных и т.д.! Это ISU издевается над нашими спортсменами,а мы им за это деньги? С ума сошли? Это же экономическое преступление! Кстати,я не смотрю это видео и не собираюсь смотреть,но возмущаюсь его наличием и потраченными на на него немалыми денежными средствами!
Да и не смотрите)) Как в пословице: "На зло кондуктору куплю билет, пойду пешком" ))

Considering that she had terrible injuries from quads she performed in 2019-2020 she did great. Wouldn't be OK to make her jump 3A and quads right away. She needs to attain confidence in her program and for that is good to simplify. Try having some empathy

I actually liked her skate, but she niether had a single triple triple combo nor a lutz/flip... russians are not there this year she has to take over, if she doesn't do now, she wouldn't ever... Orser's work with Yuna was most likely a fluke... she'd better find someone else

She's still recovering and her health should be a priority for her as well as her coach, especially if she wants to stay in this sport long-term and avoid more issues in the future.
