    I loved Inquisition. Sadly Veilguard didn’t meet my expectations. Really the only thing that reminded me of inquisition and dragon age was the environments. All the rest felt completely alien in nature, everywhere from the tone, the dialogue and the fake sense of agency. I made it ten hours in and just couldn’t find the desire to pick it up again.

      I feel you with the getting to 10 hours then finding it hard to play, every time I could play, I just wanted to play something else. And PoE2 is coming out soon, so will have no life lol

      Honestly, it took me 30 hours before I started to enjoy it. I just kept pushing on because I wanted to see how the story progressed. I am playing for closure. 100 hours in and I can say it's fun. Just don't think too hard about it and it's fine. 😅 I have many issues with it, but it does provide entertainment.

    Veilguard has provided a rather useful litmus test to determine the competence of reviewers. For example, if they say that the Verrick plot twist was well executed, I now know they lack the requisite discriminatory faculties to provide a valuable assessment of any story/narrative.

      An OG, glad to see you kept going! been following your channel as it was growing alongside mine back in the day. Thanks for being an epic part of the Dragon Age community :D It's been a long time haha
      It's a shame I wont make builds for this game, was hoping to make content for years like inquisition, but like mentioned at the end I hope to share content I love moving forward.

    Oh wow! One of my favorite build guiders of Inquisition! Ive literally tried every build you posted in your videos 😊
    As for Veilguard...
    I think we should just let it rest in peace... As far as im concerned its not a Dragon Age game. Infact it feels more like someone took the base of Andromeda and placed the character skins and landscapes of a fantasy game
    BTW since you dont remember much of DA:O maybe you can "go back to the beginning" and make some build videos for Origins 🙂

      That's dedication trying them all! they are so much fun so hope you enjoyed them all.
      Soon I will invest a lot of time in path of exile 2 and maybe some MTG videos, but going back to DA:O and trying builds for that could be a lot of fun in the future - I'll keep that in my mind :D

      It's so trueeee, always took me out of any immersion. Dragon Age Inquisition was so nice at making loot feel amazing. Either it's in the world like ore as your traveling between places, or at the end of a fight as the reward.

    It sucks to hear about the loot, I mained 2H reaver in dragon age inquisition and based on that build alone there was at least 4 different ways of playing it just based off the sheer ammount of customizations you could do there was the risk reward playstyle with the sigil of lyrium mind blast and chain lightning which lowered your health but let you do eldritch detonators by yourself like a templar could. 1% heal on hit +guard basically unkillable, walking bomb+explode on kill just chain reaction explosions the support build which didn't use dragon rage (I usually ran it on bull A.I is terrible with dragon rage) and instead used devour with both horn skills valour in the weapon, war horn as an ability. hell with the DLC you can literally make your tank be at full elemental resistance cap with guard on hit then veilguard comes along +5 helmet.

    • @StarFlorge
      @StarFlorge  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Heal on hit plus guard as a Reaver was so much fun, I loved that class. The loot in DA:I as you say was fantastic the craft I spent so long looking into everything as the combinations were so fun, compared to Veilguard which just feel so flat and lifeless.
      Love hearing about epic DA:I moments, thanks for sharing!

    It's insane how many points I agree on! I purchased inquisition again since I didn't have for Ps5, I had it on Xbox. So now I'm having a blast playing my broken Knight enchanter. Didn't even get Iron Bull cameo, veilguard was the most disappointing game I've experienced.

    I am sad that you did not enjoy it. I am enjoying it quite a lot honestly (on my 3rd playthorough). I somehow feel this game is in the exact same spot DA2 was when it was released. People either loved it or hated it :)) I actually love all DA games for different reasons each game :D
    I think what I enjoyed the most are the Environments. Absolutely gorgeous. Makes me wonder how DA1, DA2, DA:I would have looked with environments detailed as DA:V ;)

      I'm glad you're enjoying it :D I hoped I would, you're right it's similar to DA2 in the fact people hate or love it, I loved DA2 and remember all the hate it got.
      As I've only played it once, have your 3 play throughs been on each class? Warrior, Rogue, and Mage - I've only played Mage so would love to hear how the others felt.

    • @Helifax19
      @Helifax19 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@StarFlorge Yes, that is my main motivation.
      I really like the classes and specializations!
      1st Play: Grey Warden warrior. I don't remember the last time I had so much fun playing with s shield and sword, besides Souls games.
      2nd Play: Antivan Crow mage specialized as a Spellblade. This was very awesome. It felt like hybrid between a rogue and mage (orb + dagger). It is a very mobile type of mage build. I don't know if you tried this spec yet.
      3rd play: Currently I am playing a A Dalish (sorry Veil Jumper) Rogue and I am going for a Vail Ranger/Archer build, but I am very early in the game. So far I need to rely quite a bit on my daggers since I don't have a warrior companion yet to tank, but mixing daggers and bow is quite satisfying :D
      I 100% completed the game both times so I remember where I can find some of the items and such.
      I like how each class and spec feels different.

    Whilst i like the game, i dont think its perfect. I feel they were too focused on trying to maximize how much dialogue there was that they didnt focus enough on the quality of it. I also didnt like how they handled some of the new companions like Taash or Bellara because with Taash being qunari, they shouldn't have made her so childish and rude and maybe had her know more on qunari culture and why she is the way she is. With Bellara, most of the game, she feels like an airhead because she breaks things, trails off mid sentence, and rambles. I also didnt like how lace always sways hips when talking. Ghilan'nain was also badly written and very weirdly animated and i just can't describe what it is other than she felt too forced with how she reacted and how her V/A came across in character. What i did like about the game was Davrin, lucanis, neve, an emmerich seemed to have the best dialogue and they weren't afraid to jab each other and they actually had good dialogue. Some say they didnt like how Neve walked, but she's a spy and so she has to look the part of being high and mighty, so i didn't mind that. I think Elgar'nan is my favorite enemy in the whole series because he was difficult to battle, well written, and his V/A did great with him. He also wasn't over the top with his reactions or his lines. I also think the combat in this one is better than the rest of the series because while you do only have 3 main abilities and a charged ability, you also have a light attack, a heavy, and combo strikes which are really cool. I liked the character creator because it feels unlimited with how much you can create too. I cried when Varric died. I also redeemed solas and whilst i would like the chance to tear down the veil, i also liked being able to see Mythal. Also the black city being right there in the crossroads was a nice treat to see up close and see the structures. I would have liked to see more of characters from the books like Maevaris Tilani, Felassan, and a couple others because viago, teia, evka, and Antoine were nice, but there could have been so much more

    This game isn’t a real Dragon Age game, it’s the Acolyte of Dragon Age. Something created by woke youngsters who are used to “cozy” games and woke stuff up the wazoo.

  • @Loeher

    For me your points about the loot and the combat are indredibly confusing and scream of "I want to find reasons to be annoyed". Like, calling the loot insigificant is objectively wrong, doubly so doing so while praising the loot in Inquisition lmao
    "It Isn't a Dragon Age game" is also such a tired cop out.

    • @StarFlorge
      @StarFlorge  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      How is it confusing praising Inquisition loot? The loot in Inquisition was so fun to find and the unique could completely re-shape builds and game play. Then you come to Veilguard which has nothing of the sorts.
      I was never trying to be annoyed, I wanted to love this game, I was so excited to kill one of the first challenge bosses in Veilguard, get a unique just to then never wear it as it did nothing of value.
      Building was a huge part of Inquisition (as per my channel) and loot comes as part of the fun alongside that. Choosing all the right stats and effects was so fun.

      I think it's fair to say it's not a bad game, but it's not perfect. It feels like with the writing of the dialogue and how they handled certain companions and dialogue options, it was more quantity over the quality of it whereas the combat while limiting had amazing quality and the overall story was definitely good quality
