I admire H.H. Shaikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as the administration of Abu Dhabi for making this temple, when I was there it was under construction, but now it is ready to worship. I can say one thing "Shukran lilrayiys sahib alsumui alshaykh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan"
I apologize🙏 if I wrote the wrong Arabic, I knew little Arabic.

Yes. We are thankful to UAE to let it happen. This is big. Arab countries are slowly trying to change their rigid, conservative image and embracing more inclusiveness and tolerance. It's a tectonic shift. Just one correction, UAE 'allowed' it, and allotted land, while BAPS, an Indian Hindu religious org built it.

The term “Hindu” is not found in the ancient Hindu scriptures. The word “Hindu” is believed to have originated from the Persian word “Hind,” which referred to the land beyond the Indus River (Sindhu in Sanskrit). This term was used by Persians and later by Greeks to describe the people living in that region.
      Key Points:
      Ancient Texts:
The ancient Hindu scriptures, such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and the epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana, do not mention the word "Hindu".
These texts refer to the land and people using terms like “Bharata” and “Aryavarta.”
      Historical Usage:
The term “Hindu” was first used by Persians around the 6th century BCE to describe the people living around the Indus River.
It was later adopted by other cultures and eventually came to be associated with the religious and cultural practices of the people in the Indian subcontinent.
      Modern Context:
The term “Hinduism” as a unified religious identity was developed much later, particularly during the British colonial period, to categorize the diverse religious practices and beliefs in India.
The term “Hinduism” is relatively modern and was coined by British writers in the early 19th century to describe the diverse religious, cultural, and philosophical traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Before this, the practices and beliefs now associated with Hinduism were referred to by various names and were often identified by specific sects or philosophical schools.
      Key Points:
      Exonym:
The word “Hindu” itself is an exonym, derived from the Persian term “Sindhu,” which referred to the people living beyond the Indus River.
The term “Hinduism” was used to categorize the wide array of practices, beliefs, and traditions found in India.
      Diverse Traditions:
Hinduism is not a single, unified religion but a compilation of various traditions, philosophies, and practices. It includes a range of beliefs from polytheism to monotheism, and even atheism.
Major sects within Hinduism include Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism, and Smartism, each with its own deities, rituals, and philosophies.
      Ancient Roots:
The roots of what is now called Hinduism can be traced back to the Indus Valley Civilization (around 2300 BCE to 1500 BCE) and the Vedic period.
Despite the modern term, the practices and beliefs have ancient origins and have evolved over thousands of years.
While the term “Hinduism” is modern, the traditions and practices it encompasses are ancient and deeply rooted in the history of the Indian subcontinent.

This is definitely an item added to my bucket list! The temple is actually publicly open now (as of Mar 1) for visitors, and opening day attracted around 65000+ visitors lol. If you end up going for a visit, would definitely love to see a vlog of the experience .
Also, regarding the shipment process of the carved stone/marble, you pack it with padding material around and within the crevices/gaps of the carvings. I had the privilege of volunteering in the construction of a huge temple in New Jersey, USA, built by the same BAPS organization, and unpacked a few carved figurines which had packing material all around delicate parts (i.e. around hands pointing outward, or carved instruments in the hands of a figurine, etc.)
