    Nice Job on the resin.
    Big and never ending job, building a boat! And it takes time!! How I solved the TIME problem was to dedicate myself to working on the boat EVERYDAY, even if it was only five minutes. Even if I was broke, didn't have any materials, didn't think I had anything to do, still I went out and worked as long as I could.
    Maybe I'm just thrilled with your project and can't wait to see her in the water!!
    Again, nice job.

      awesome thanks man! where did you get your impeller? did you just cut it out of a jet ski?

    • @ronaldhotboy
      @ronaldhotboy  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jonathan Edwards no, I searched for "pwc (personal water craft) jet pump" on ebay and found this on from a 95 wetjet duo. Or trying searching jet ski jet pump. I had to make an intake housing out of fiberglass to direct the water into the pump. Ive seen a few people actually cut out the bottom of a jet ski though. I personally wanted the challenge. Thanks a lot brother!

    What is your boat's name? Work progresses faster when you are working with someone, than when working with "it".

      laura mcdougal Thats a REAL good question Laura. The only thing I had had was the digital file name (nb3) lol I really like that "someone vs something". Since you thought about it, whatever name you give me, thats what its going to be. LET ME KNOW! lol Thanks

    what did you get your pump out of

    • @ronaldhotboy
      @ronaldhotboy  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It came from a 1995 wetjet duo. The midshaft also came from the duo. The reverse bucket came from a 2002 Polaris genesis. Thanks for watching!

    Hello Ronald! I like your fleece layup and glass work. What are you using for engine and coupling? I saw one of your earlier videos showing a possible high mounted engine with complex clutch and chain drive leg. Have you considered a simple direct drive unit? How about mount the engine low and in line with the jet ski input shaft and direct couple the engine to the jet pump shaft with a Rexnord Flex coupling (www.rexnord.com/sites/process/Pages/OmegaElastomericCouplings.aspx). I made a 10-ft jon boat into jet power with a horizontal shaft engine, Rexnord coupling and Berkeley 6JC jet pump with reverse bucket (somewhat like yours). The flex coupling eliminates chain noise and oiling spray issues, and it is much smoother. With reverse, you don't need a clutch, just start up the engine with the reverse bucket preset to a midway on position so the boat will set still while you are boarding. Put a small spring on the steering lever at the jet pump so if you fall overboard, the boat will circle back to you. Have fun!

      laura mcdougal Thanks a lot! Lets cross our fingers and hope that she works. Im assuming you're talking about the first setup I wanted to use with the reverse box th-cam.com/video/U4R7UJIA6jI/w-d-xo.html If so, I decided not to use that setup and use this setup instead th-cam.com/video/jOsvLZ3RyAY/w-d-xo.html I would love to directly connect the engine to the pump's midshaft; but I couldn't find anything that coupled from a keyed 3/4 shaft to a threaded 1 1/8 shaft. Thanks a bunch for the link, Im going check them out right after this comment. Someone else told me the same thing; that there is no need for the clutch because the water will at as one. Thanks a lot for the safety tip about the return spring. I've put one on the steering joystick, let me know if you think this spring will be sufficient th-cam.com/video/hiCeTmzxySw/w-d-xo.html Thanks a lot for the help! You're freakin AWESOME!

    You should have not change the design from a jet boat to a pontoon boat or catamaran or whatever you wanna call it only a few things different would’ve done for the jet boat but it would’ve been much quicker
