i knew from the beginning something will happen between the two of them..though liu xiu liked ye shijie, from the moment liu xiu and jingrui had their first banter, and their fights i knew the scriptwriter would make them a pair, frenemies to lover..their cute chemistry was evident..plus i have seen so much dramas by now that i almost always predict correctly apart from the main lead, who else is gonna be paired together

The ml is just too bored and has probably figured out what’s going on but decided to play it out slowly with the fl just for kicks. She’s smarter than most of the women he knows. So he’s mildly interested in what she’s up to. But again, he’s figured it out and just sits by watching how she’s going to get her revenge.
@@5877user have you completed the series? his part and what he actually is doing is kind of the second half of the story..him trying to get his revenge against the man who killed his father and protecting the emperor and the kingdom..do watch it..he is not bored and watching the FL for kicks but observing and deciding whether using her as a pawn in his game would be a correct move or not and then would start protecting her also when needed and asked
Nope. Other commenters also say that he’s bored and even if they end up together, he’ll eventually get bored again because she should not be his form of entertainment.
So it’s not just my opinion.
I just love this show. I adore the relationship of Duke Su and Li. All of them are very good actors.

I'm still confuse about it too. The relationship between Shen Yurong and Princess Wanning is still unclear, all we know is that she likes him thus leading to her making "The Plan", because she can't just take Yurony away as he already got wife. Yurong must've benefit something from her during his time at the palace when yue hi wasn't there, that's why he got the gut to join in her plan as well.
