What I learned from this lecture:
We use Data Flow Diagrams to show the flow of data through different processses in software for example what happens when a user clicks a button
DFD elements:
- Data Store (data base) represented by two parallel lines
- Process - represented by a circle
- External entity - represented by a rectangle
- Data flows - represented by arrows
Rules of DFD:
Data can flow from
- External entity to process
- Process to process
- Process to Data Store
Data cannot flow from
- External entity to External entity
- Data Store to data Store
- External entity to data store
