Their deepest concern was not their loved ones’ deaths, the child’s unexpected birth, or even their own demises, but that the ark had been captured and God’s glory had departed from Israel. For the church to remain effective, Alistair Begg warns, we must also turn our attention from “me” and “now” to God’s glory as we nurture the next generation in the things of Christ.

Such a beautiful and heartfelt sermon. Pastor Begg doesn’t just write a sermon; he brings the Scripture into his heart and soul. He puts himself into the peoples’ lives and creates living lessons complete with music, psychology and literature to bring the points home. So excellent.

10:45 God wanted the people to come into the ark not to use it as some sort of talisman. Had to stop there, wait and appreciate the depth of that comment and it’s relevance to the Christian life and taking Christ into our lives, living Christ versus a profession that is not lived. Thank you so very much for these videos, I am able to stop and ponder, replay, therefore retain more. So appreciated.
God killed off Eli’s male family because Eli didn’t correct his sons. Eli himself did not partake in what his sons were doing
