New to the channel and loving it. Inspiring me to go out and push further. Great to see your journey and wishing you the very best in your efforts to make it. Smashing it.
Great effort pal! Can relate to the bonking episodes, I've been saved by the bakers (cakes/donuts) twice now! You should look at doing your next longer route up here in sunny Scotland! Would make for some excellent content. Keep it up. :D
@@Daaaanjj Yeah it's not a nice experience. You mention you get emotional, I just go silent and feel like I'm going to throw up. Anyway, Scotland for the next long ride please. 👌😎
Another quality video and massive ride! Would be keen to see a pre-reiver bike check/ what you're carrying video as Im riding the 130km as well. Looking forward to immaculate vibes and plenty of mini-bonks throughout the ride also!
Another wicked video, love the editing style. I know you’ve mentioned moving to the full time creator a bit tough but trips like this must make it worth it!
Oh Dan, I live just outside Bangor, ride every weekend. We've avoided Anglesey like the plaque, it's just so windy and the thing is, Anglesey is corrugated. Up down up down up down + wind = torture 😂
Totally get ya regarding how windy Anglesey is!, we stopped over at the Premier Inn near Hollyhead last week (great place to stay location wise and when you've got a bike with you) enjoyed watching this, was interested to see what the Island is like for road cycling. Sea shanty cafe/restaurant in Tredegar is also a great cool spot to eat 👍
Came across the channel as I'm looking at the same bike and a runner as well. I'm also building up to a 100 mile ride in a day. I used to bonk when I started running but I seem to have my energy levels in check now. Maybe look more in to carb loading a few days prior to a big ride and try beetroot shots. Definitely work for me in run up to races. Sometimes as well you could be taking in right amount of carbs but if you're working too hard your body can't process them as it shuts down the digestive function.
Good effort Dan!! Highly recommend going to 30mm tires set up tubeless but make sure you’re using some good sealant like orange endurance or silica’s. Agreed that riding those big efforts does help if you’re with company, if you’re ever done london way happy to go on a ride!
Great effort Dan, that is tough going solo. Have to say not a fan of these new Rapha glasses, the old ones were great (I have a pair of the framed and unframed ones) but those look like some cheap Amazon imitation.
Top video, I only run so started with watching the running stuff but enjoying the cycling content . Surely getting copyrighted with some of the music in the video ?
Anglesey is incredibly windy - well done for getting it done. Once you hit Beaumaris and starting heading back up the other side of the Island it’s generally into a headwind. Getting the train from Chester and cycling back from Bangor or Holyhead is a good day out on the bike - generally you get a tail wind 👍
Really great video, got recommended by youtube. Thanks for that! Subscribed By any chance you work in the video industry? Great editing and shooting skills!
I live in Holyhead, I've been cycling for just over a year now. It's nice riding around Anglesey yeah. But there's fucking wind everywhere, guaranteed somewhere haha. Longest ride I done was a couple of days back 82 miles. I should've just pushed further and tried to go for the 100. I have to try before the weather goes too shit this year.
Great video mate - looks like a class route aswell. Ive only ever done solo rides... So if you ever come back to the lakes give me a shout if you want a buddy to go with 😁👌
Very subjective I guess. They don't look terrible but they would not be my preference. I've worn some ugly sunglasses provided by sponsors before. Just have to get on with it.
bonkinell....well done pal keep pushing, inspiring me to get on the road again this week
love to hear it, weathers turning... perfect cycling conditions soon
Really enjoyed this! Was fun to be part of the adventure!
love to hear it thanks
bro, I like all these aesthetics taken into biking. I go to you for some Willem Verbeeck-ish cycling content
I wish you all the success bro
Great comparison
appreciate that mate, I'm big into 'cinematography' but it's difficult to combine with cycling at times without someone filming for me
hey, you got us constantly checking for content bro@@Daaaanjj
Great one man! Just did my first 150km ride two weeks ago so I identify a lot with this one! Love the editing
Awesome! Thank you!
Keep up the quality content mate. Loving the adventure and looking forward to more. You inspire me to get out and do something like this!
Another quality production. Can really see how much time goes into these videos
Also big up my Cycling mate T Bizzy the watt machine of west Cheshire
thanks my man
Great video, best one so far. Love the mix of styles you use.
Appreciate it!

More of the long rides please, love the up and downs I get the same on those over 80k rides on my own. Its all mental!!!!

nothing worse than a bonk on the bike. Ah man would love to get up to Scotland for some miles
@@Daaaanjj Yeah it's not a nice experience. You mention you get emotional, I just go silent and feel like I'm going to throw up. Anyway, Scotland for the next long ride please. 👌😎
Also, on the tour de Mon itself you can do a timed "flying mile" down that runway, and there's a feed station when you've done it
Loving the content Dan, making me want to get the bike out! Living the dream
thank you mate

Thanks a lot! Yeah the freedom is by far one of the best things about it
Well in, mate. Heading to Wales on a bikepacking trip myself at the start of April, scenery looks dead on, fingers crossed it's not a washout!
bikepacking round there would be epic
Easy and entertaining watch. Here for more like this
Thanks mate appreciate it
You have Inspired me to go and buy my first bike today!
Love the videos mate!!
Have fun!

thanks man
Love the video Dan! I want to attempt a 100 miler soon, maybe where there is less wind
thanks mate. Yeah get it done on a nice summers day
Love the video.
What bike gps are you using. Keep going and all the best going forward
cheers mate. Using the Garmin Edge 840 Solar, solid
Congratulations on finishing! You'll get your stomach trained eventually and the bonks will go away
thanks man

thanks mate; fair on the glasses. I personally don't mind them and they performed great in the winds, kept my eyes from leaking at least
Top video, I only run so started with watching the running stuff but enjoying the cycling content . Surely getting copyrighted with some of the music in the video ?
Good to know. Nah I pay a subscription on Epidemic sounds to use the music on TH-cam

What helmet is that mate? Looks fresh 💯
Love the content mate
cheers man

epic ride! excited to see more roadie content :)
More to come!
Underrated creator. Here from tik tok. Keep it up❤
Thanks for coming
Hey mate, what helmet is that?
Great video man, what are those trackie bottoms you have on?
they'll be the Rapha Cotton sweatpants mate
What camera do you use? Cheers
Sony A7iii is my main rig. Insta 360x3 and DJI action 2 for on bike
Great video mate - looks like a class route aswell.
Ive only ever done solo rides... So if you ever come back to the lakes give me a shout if you want a buddy to go with 😁👌
Thanks mate. Ahhh Lakes cycling in the summer would be outstanding
if u want u can use normal sugar instead of carb mixes in ur bottles, they are 99% sugar anyway u just paying extra
Get yourself a little camper project on the go, don’t have to pay for accommodation then;)
Driving around in a car worth about half the value of the bike is peak cyclist haha
worth literally 3 times more than my landrover 😂
I don't know how to say this nicely. Those glasses are not it chief
He got em for free so can’t complain really. We’ve all got our preferences. Not for me personally but if he likes them then so be it
😂
valid, I don't mind them personally; prefer some of my Oakleys but these look quite unique
Very subjective I guess. They don't look terrible but they would not be my preference. I've worn some ugly sunglasses provided by sponsors before. Just have to get on with it.
The amount of carbs and extra food is plain excessive 😅🤦♂️. A gel after 30km is honestly wild. It’s 150km not 1500km.
not really, meant to consume around 60g of carbs per hour when training on longer rides
